After four rounds of intense team battles, only four teams remained in the arena: teams 4, 8, 9, and 12.
Kyle suddenly entered the fray, declaring he would personally challenge the remaining contestants, which included twelve members from these four teams.
The rules were simple and straightforward:
You could win by simply touching Kyle once, or by defending against him for 30 seconds. Compared to the previous four rounds of chaotic team battles, this seemed like a more manageable challenge.
Moreover, anyone advancing to the second round would undoubtedly possess the strength to withstand Kyle's assault for at least five minutes, considering his legendary prowess during World War II.
Teams 8 and 9 were comprised of Card Bearers trained by the Carl Family, while teams 4 and 12 consisted of extraordinary individuals from around the globe, each brimming with confidence. None of them objected to the new rules.
The audience erupted in cheers at this unexpected turn of events. Many had come specifically to witness Kyle, the Symbol of Peace, in action. Now, they would finally see his true power. There was no opposition – everyone was eager to see this unfold.
"Then, the fifth special match begins!"
The God system announced the schedule, and Kyle, along with the four other teams, vanished from the arena and were transported to the virtual combat space.
"That man... he's finally made his move. What do you think of this special match?" Antman asked Eddie, eager for his opinion. Deadpool also turned to Eddie with a curious glint in his eyes.
"I don't know much, but if you think he's still the same as before, you're sorely mistaken."
Eddie smiled and said, "From what I understand, the family head was already battling a terminal illness back then, and his strength had declined considerably since World War II. After leaving Earth and returning to New York, he pushed beyond his own limits, both in power and in life."
"Even now, he's still evolving, still learning. So, don't underestimate him. You're barely scratching the surface of his true potential."
Eddie shrugged, patting Antman and Deadpool on the shoulders. "Perhaps you'll gain a glimpse of his true power today."
The screen above the arena switched to a bustling modern city area.
In the center, surrounded by countless skyscrapers, there was a large open green plaza, with a statue of the ''Symbol of Peace'' standing proudly in the middle.
''Random Battle Location: New York Plaza.''
''Red Team:'' Kyle.
''Blue Team:'' Members from teams 4, 8, 9, and 12.
No one was permitted to leave the New York Plaza. Any member of the blue team who touched Kyle or survived for 30 seconds would be declared the victor.
Once the rules appeared in the virtual space, a 30-second countdown began above the virtual New York Plaza.
The twelve contestants stood to one side, nervously observing Kyle, who stood alone on the opposite side.
The audience in the stands instinctively held their breath as they watched the God view on the big screen, all of them eagerly anticipating the explosive battle about to unfold.
This matchup was sure to be even more thrilling than the previous team battles, right?
Unfortunately, they were about to be sorely disappointed...
As the countdown began, and just as the twelve contestants prepared to rush in,
Kyle's calm figure suddenly erupted with an overwhelming aura of power. His eyes flashed with a scorching fire, and his towering body seemed to ignite spontaneously, burning with a faint, dazzling layer of energy.
''Double Star Form.''
A white dust storm exploded from where he stood, and Kyle shot into the sky, heading straight for the heavens. In the blink of an eye, he breached the atmosphere.
"This..."
The contestants on the plaza were stunned, looking up at Kyle, who had become a small star in the sky. According to the system's rules, the New York Plaza area did indeed extend up to the sky, but how were they supposed to fight him now?
Touch him? It would be harder than climbing to the sky!
"This height should be about right." Kyle, in his ''Double Star Form'', breached the atmosphere and stopped at the edge of near-Earth space. If he went any further, not only would he exceed the New York Plaza, but he would also be out of Earth's range.
Since he was here to stir things up, he intended to do so decisively and cleanly.
Among the remaining contestants, there were Card Bearers possessing other evil spirits, and if he were too careless, they might manage to touch his body.
As the host of the superpower competition, he had to be impartial.
"I could say, the real reason is that my body is itching to move, and I need to find a way to vent some energy. How about I take it out on you guys?" Kyle smiled, truly feeling like it had been a while since he last exercised. Since he was in a virtual space, warming up wouldn't hurt.
With the countless audience members staring in amazement, Kyle, floating in near-Earth space, gripped his left wrist with his right hand, using his right hand as a cannon. His palm then gathered a blinding, dazzling dual star energy.
"What is that?"
The contestants in the virtual New York Plaza, still looking up, could see a small point of bright starlight growing larger and larger, as if it was about to fall onto the plaza below.
"Quick, run!"
One of the Card Bearers shouted in fear, and in the next moment, a beam of dual-star energy blasted down. The dazzling beam, about the size of a wrist and a meter long, flew through the space at thousands of meters per second, and more than half of it sank into the concrete floor next to one of the contestants.
"Missed?" The contestant felt a cold sweat on his back as he looked at the half-exposed light arrow next to his foot.
No sooner had he spoken, the light arrow exploded into a brilliant white flash, followed by a powerful shockwave that sent the contestant flying.
It was indeed off-target.
Unfortunately, this light cannon was an area-of-effect attack, so dodging was useless.
And that was just the beginning.
Next came a series of light cannon strikes, like a storm, relentlessly bombarding the virtual New York Plaza with indiscriminate destruction.
Until, after the 30-second countdown ended...
Yes.
The audience in the stands and the billions of viewers on the SkyNet platform were all nervously watching this onslaught, which resembled a movie's special effects or divine retribution, a one-sided pulverizing bombardment.
The match wasn't exciting— if anything, it was somewhat cruel. The viewers, after watching the entire event, could only perceive one thing— times had truly changed.
No longer was Kyle the one wielding a sword to cut down enemies; now he had become a ground-to-air intercontinental cannon...
Who could withstand that?
When the match's countdown finished, the virtual New York Plaza had turned into a deep pit in the ground. Inside that pit, there were a few contestants who managed to endure the hellish 30 seconds.
The contestants were Card Bearers who embodied the sins of Greed, Gluttony, Jealousy, and Lust. With the protection of evil spirits, they barely held on until the last moment.
"Not bad."
Floating in the sky, Kyle blew the smoke off his right palm and looked down at the four Card Bearers. He gave a knowing smile.
