Chapter 13: Methods to Become Smarter

Two days later, Su Hao found his father.

"Did you memorize it?" Wu Yuntian asked skeptically.

"Of course," Su Hao replied confidently.

Naturally, Wu Yuntian didn't believe him.

So Su Hao handed the book back to him and proceeded to recite every word, right in front of his father's eyes. Wu Yuntian was stunned throughout the entire process. How long did it take him to memorize the scripture when he was younger?

After Su Hao finished reciting, Wu Yuntian took him to an uninhabited place and explained the contents of the book to him, sentence by sentence, just as recorded in the scripture. The Blood Qi Scripture was something that would easily be misunderstood and practiced incorrectly if not explained word by word. Expressing one's thoughts accurately through writing was a challenging task, much like the time when people used to send hairpins as messages. A simple message like "Oops, I accidentally broke a bowl" was easy to understand, with clear and concise expression.

But some people might interpret it as "Why did the bowl break? Did you have an argument with your significant other?" "Did something bad happen recently?" "Let's search on Baidu to find out the hidden meaning behind 'breaking a bowl.'"...

Therefore, Wu Yuntian had Su Hao memorize the book without guessing its meaning, waiting for his father to explain it to him. After all, his father was a senior high-level elite warrior, which made him quite powerful.

It wasn't until the sky grew dark that Wu Yuntian finished explaining the entire book, and Su Hao recorded his father's explanations word for word in "Cosmic Light" for future study and review.

"Do you have any more questions?" Wu Yuntian asked.

"No," Su Hao replied. Then he couldn't help but praise, "Father, you are truly amazing! You can explain such a complex book so clearly. It's such a waste that you're not a teacher."

Wu Yuntian burst into laughter for the first time. He proudly said, "Of course. Do you think I've been..."

He suddenly stopped talking. Changing the subject, he said, "Since there are no more unclear areas, let's stop here for now. Go back. Ask me if you have any more questions."

"Okay." Su Hao jumped up and followed behind his father.

The next day, Su Hao found his father again. "Father, I have a thorough understanding of the book now."

Wu Yuntian once again raised his evaluation of his son. He knew that Su Hao would quickly grasp the meaning of the scripture, but he didn't expect it to be this fast.

After confirming that Su Hao truly understood, Wu Yuntian said, "That concludes our study for now. The next step is the most important thing you need to do. That is, to find your Blood Qi."

"Find my Blood Qi? How do I do that?"

Wu Yuntian revealed a mysterious smile. "Every morning, you go for a run until you're exhausted. Afterward, eat something and find a quiet place to sit and feel the process of food being transformed into energy. With time, you will be able to perceive your Blood Qi."

"That's it?"

"Yes, that's it."

Su Hao recalled the slogan he had heard before: Keep it simple, believe, and follow through. Well, he would follow through with it.

...

Early the next morning, Su Hao started running around the valley.

His behavior quickly caught the attention of his little friends.

He Qingqing, with her double ponytails still intact and looking cute as ever, approached with two little followers. When Su Hao ran past them, she curiously asked, "Xiangwu, what are you doing?"

Su Hao rolled his eyes and replied, "Running."

"Why are you running?"

Su Hao pretended not to hear and continued running past them. But when he circled back again, He Qingqing persisted, "Why are you running? Running is not fun. Let's go catch field mice instead!"

Su Hao didn't answer and ran past her.

On the third lap, He Qingqing became annoyed and shouted, "Xiangwu, no matter what, you must come and catch field mice with us today."

Su Hao, already out of breath and not wanting to respond, saw the anger in He Qingqing's ponytails about to flare up. He didn't want her to come over and pull him, so he reluctantly replied, "He Qingqing, I already told you, I don't play with fools."

He Qingqing, hearing this once again, instantly snapped, "Wu Xiangwu, I've told you, I'm not a fool. You must play with us today, no matter what. Otherwise, I'll let Booger and Chubby beat you up. I mean what I say."

Su Hao was speechless. This was a difficult situation. Unfortunately, he couldn't resist due to his martial strength. Looking at Booger and Chubby, who were excitedly walking over, he felt disheartened. Did he really have to play house with these kids today?

No! One thing always leads to another. Did he have to run around with these little kids on the mountain from now on? It was such a waste of time.

After catching his breath, Su Hao mustered all his energy, stood up, and brushed off the dirt from his body.

"You agreed?" He Qingqing thought Su Hao had agreed and immediately smiled.

Su Hao didn't respond but instead asked, "Qingqing, didn't you just ask me why I was running?"

"Yes!" Qingqing replied.

"Then ask me again."

He Qingqing didn't think too much and asked along, "Why are you running?"

Su Hao praised her immediately, "Qingqing, that's a good question! You hit the nail on the head. Now, let me ask you, do you know why I'm so smart?"

He Qingqing's eyes widened in surprise. It was the secret she had always wanted to know. She stared blankly and asked, "Why?"

"Because of running!"

"Running?" (x3)

Su Hao calmly answered, "That's right! Running."

"Really? Running can make you smart, like you?"

"Of course! It's a secret I discovered. You must not tell anyone."

"Okay, okay!" (x3)

"What are you waiting for? Let's start running!"

"Okay!"
