Rozen could guess what Magnus was thinking.
It wasn't hard to guess at all.
"Indeed, if it's you right now, even if the opponent is one of the major powers, you have nothing to fear. But if it actually turns into a state of war with a nation, you should know what the consequences will be."
Magnus made this statement in a calm tone, revealing what was on his mind.
He was simply concerned about the outbreak of war.
Indeed, Rozen had no need to fear anything, not even a major power. But if the truth was revealed and war actually broke out with such a nation, Rozen might remain fearless, but what about the innocent civilians?
If Rozen were to deploy hundreds of thousands of troops into a country to let them rampage, who would suffer the most? The common people.
Then, Rozen would have taken his revenge—regardless of winning or losing. If he won, all the consequences would be borne by the opponent. If he lost, as he said earlier, he would ensure the enemy suffered tremendous losses, eventually getting swallowed by surrounding nations. Either way, Rozen wouldn't lose, but that nation would be reduced to a living hell.
And that wasn't the worst part.
What truly mattered was that this all took place on the eve of the Second World War.
In a world where tensions among the great powers were escalating, and the air of war was thickening, if even one battle broke out, all the remaining wars would erupt in one go.
At that point, every nation across the globe would have its conflicts triggered by this single event, and a world war would truly arrive.
In other words, if Rozen really went to war with a nation, that war would ignite everything.
Because of this, Magnus could not reveal the truth to Rozen.
"I know you're a very intelligent person. But at the same time, you're also someone who acts with genuine emotion. If it really came to that point, you would absolutely choose to go to war without hesitation or compromise."
Magnus's voice rang in Rozen's ears.
"You consider the safety of the ordinary people and think about the consequences afterward—but that will never stop you."
"In other words, you don't mind war. You don't reject war."
"Therefore, I'm certain—your actions will ignite a true world war."
So said Magnus.
And this was an indisputable fact.
Rozen indeed didn't mind war, nor did he reject it.
From the moment the incineration of humanity began, he had always been fighting.
Each and every singularity centered around the wish-granting device known as the Holy Grail ultimately turned into a battlefield.
Even the ritual of the Holy Grail War itself was a war between Servants and Servants, Masters and Masters.
In addition, having experienced multiple worlds, Rozen had participated in wars and started wars—how could he possibly fear war like ordinary people?
That was why Rozen dared to summon Hyakki Yagyo(Night Parade of a Hundred Demons) in the previous world, turning Tokyo into a domain of demons. Even though Rozen did take the civilians' lives into account and ensured there were no casualties, aside from that, he acted without restraint. He didn't care about the citizens' fear or panic, and reduced Tokyo to ruins.
Later, Rozen did repair everything, but what happened had happened. That day became the Day of the Demons, seen by future generations of that world as a dark piece of history. The people who lived through that day bore indelible scars in their hearts that would never fade.
These were all wounds.
And although Rozen was aware of that, he still chose to act as he did.
Because...
"I'm no saint, nor a hero. I won't shy away from battles, nor do I want to see the innocent bleed and cry—but at my core, I'm a very selfish person. No matter what kind of fight I join, it's only ever for the sake of those close to me."
Rozen admitted this.
He had said it many times before.
When it came to the preservation of humanity and human history, Rozen had never fought out of some grand ideal to save all of mankind. It was always for Mash, for Roman, for his friends and companions at Chaldea that he chose to step forward.
In other worlds as well, Rozen's battles and wars were never for the salvation of others, but for the sake of those he personally valued.
In that regard, Rozen was just an ordinary person. When someone he cared about was hurt, he would become enraged, full of hatred, and fight without holding back. Toward innocent and pitiful people, he would feel sympathy and want to help them—but he would never aim to save all suffering souls. If necessary, he could even steel his heart and turn a blind eye.
If Rozen were to be described using a Servant's alignment, then his attribute would definitely be — Neutral Good.
Neutral: Uninvolved in society's or the public's rules.
Good: Has personal rules and sincerely follows them, often showing tendencies to protect specific individuals or ideals.
This attribute suited Rozen the most.
So, even though Rozen had done things only saints and heroes could accomplish, in truth, he was neither hero nor saint—just a human being.
In conclusion, if it truly became necessary, Rozen would absolutely not fear the outbreak of war like others would.
He might take steps to ensure the safety of civilians, but beyond that, Rozen would not think further, nor feel the need to.
Magnus saw through this, and thus decided to tell Rozen nothing.
"I can only give you one piece of advice."
Magnus lifted his gaze and looked straight at Rozen.
"Do not trust the Izanagi."
After saying that, Magnus stood up.
With that motion, the illusionary and soundproofing barriers around them were dispelled.
"Master."
The girls of his team immediately gathered around him protectively.
"Let's go."
Magnus was ready to leave.
In response...
"Raishin is here."
Rozen suddenly dropped this statement out of nowhere.
Magnus's figure instantly froze, as if it had turned to stone.
In that moment, Rozen continued calmly.
"He's gotten stronger. Likely no weaker than you. And he's coming for you."
Rozen explained the situation in the simplest terms.
Magnus remained turned away from Rozen, silent.
Not long after...
"Then I'll make him understand what a gap truly is."
Magnus replied in a voice devoid of emotion.
Then, accompanied by his team, and still maintaining vigilance toward Rozen, he departed.
The surrounding students looked on, confused and whispering to one another.
"Why did they leave so suddenly?"
"They didn't even say a word, did they?"
"What's going on?"
"Who knows..."
The students were completely baffled.
Only Rozen, watching Magnus leave, had a flicker in his eyes.
"Rozen-sama..."
"Rozen..."
"Rozen..."
Irori, Yaya, and Komurasaki all addressed Rozen hesitantly.
Rozen nodded and spoke expressionlessly.
"Let's go."
With that, Rozen rose and left, with the girls quickly following.
The group exited the student cafeteria, leaving behind only the curious onlookers who continued to gossip.
