Amyra stared up at the stairs towards the light that shined down on the grass. She swallowed hard and tried not to remember Julian's execution and how hard Sera and Evy had cried....and how loud Julian had screamed as his skin caught aflame.
His flesh had melted off, and his bones had turned to ash - and all she could think of was how his eyes popped and sizzled inside his skull. It made her tremble.
"Nya~" 'no name' shook the scholar from her horrid memories and pawed at her bare leg.
"I...thank you...and I hope you don't mind - but I'm going to give you the name I've been calling you.... Nacht. Is that alright?" Amyra said to the cat gratefully - whom just nodded.
"Any plans on how to get out of here?"
The cat shook its head, and Amyra looked around for any kind of heavy clothing or some kind of solid shield from the sun. She knocked over a few things in haste - some farm tools, a bale of barley, and a barrel whose cork popped off and soaked the ground with its sweet scent.
