Saffron PoV
Rose seemed out of it again. Something was definitely bothering her. But she wouldn't open up to either Tasuku or me about it.
I poked her on the back, causing her to jump. She looked like a frightened rabbit. I had to keep myself from laughing at her cuteness.
She turned to me, her expression shifting from surprise to a faint smile, but I could still see the worry lingering in her eyes. "I'm fine, really," she replied, though I could tell it wasn't entirely true.
"Fine doesn't usually come with that look," I countered, keeping my tone neutral. "What's going on?"
Rose sighed, glancing over at Anis, who was busy playing with Mariah, her laughter ringing through the room. "It's just…" She sighed. "I'm just overthinking again."
I grabbed her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze as I pulled her away from the crowd. "You know, overthinking usually leads to more problems than solutions. What's on your mind?"
