Saffron PoV
Rose winced slightly as the ice melted away, revealing her reddened skin. "I... I'm alright," she murmured, her voice strained. "I just couldn't control it."
Orlin pulled her into a tight hug, his expression a mix of relief and worry. "Don't scare us like that, sis!" he exclaimed, his voice thick with emotion.
Rose leaned into the embrace, her shoulders slumping as the tension left her body. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I just... I couldn't let him hurt my family."
"Rose," Artemia whispered.
I gulped and frowned. It was my fault. I had let my guard down during that battle. If I had thought of a better way to counter the fireball, I could've saved Rose the trouble of fending that guy off.
"Who even was that guy?" Kisara asked as she landed next to me.
"I don't know his name, but he's Cyra's father."
She gasped. "Her father, huh? I see. I always wondered about her parents. Even after finding out she was a demon, I wonder who exactly they were."
