Since there was nothing left for me to do here and Bing Lan had even given me permission to go, I didn't stay at headquarters anymore.
I did want to get out of the spotlight like she said, so I figured that it would be a good idea to hide out in my apartment for a few days.
If I did that, I would be able to avoid the people all looking to use me as their meal ticket.
They naturally just wanted a story, whether it was a good story or bad.
I wasn't willing to give these people that chance to make a story out of me, so I had Su Chen drive me home.
As I asked him, he was surprised by the request, but I didn't think anything of it.
I'm sure that Bing Lan hadn't told him anything about what she wanted or else she wouldn't have wanted to talk to me alone. Whether it was that she didn't trust him or if she wanted to make sure that nothing went wrong by getting as few people involved as possible, I had no idea.
I didn't think too much about it and just headed home.
