Scarlett Glenn had been kidnapped by Samuel Campbell, and Ethan hadn't been there. Whenever he thought about it, he felt terrified, and he would sometimes wake from a nightmare. The first thing he did upon waking was to check on Scarlett Glenn.
Fortunately, she was still there.
