Scarlett Glenn pushed the door open and just in time, saw Matilda Jenkins slowly opening her eyes. Her heart tightened, and she quickly stepped forward, grabbing Matilda's hand. "Milly... you're awake; how are you feeling?"
Her voice was especially soft, as she feared startling her.
Matilda's expression was a bit vacant as she turned her head to look at the window and said, "Is it daylight?"
Scarlett nodded, "Yes, it's daylight; it's finally here."
A smile suddenly appeared on Matilda's dazed face, and she exclaimed excitedly, "That's great! I knew it; I knew that once daytime came, all the nightmares would be over. By the way, Scarlett, where's Nathaniel York? Have him buy me breakfast. I want to eat Meat Soup Dumplings today... Oh, right, right, you don't know how terrible the dream I had last night was. I actually dreamt that Nathaniel York... he died. Isn't that kind of funny?"
