Chapter 86 - CHP86: Like Fathers, Like Sons

A fierce clash between two mighty young men.

Hope you guys enjoy!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

[NorthPole]

The coldness of the north pole was freezing, its temperature was below zero, and it went even further than that at sometimes.

At least to a certain degree.

Normal humans could not survive here, at least without proper equipment and preparation. But at the moment, if anyone could see what was happening. Then their minds would be blown, and

Pits the size of car's lie all over the place in a twenty-mile radius, spit and blood were flung all across the ice. But it would burn away, burn into ashes after some time.

Long lines that looked as if an axe fell, or cut were all over the place. While pretty large fist imprints were also along the ground as well. And a bluish white flame melted the ice and snow in wherever the first imprints were.

The air crackled with tension, and a sense of battle, even some excitement.

It was very palpable.

"Have at thee!" A young man's powerful, and forceful voice echoed out into the surroundings.

This voice was followed by a golden powerful light that tore through the air like a missile, and for fifty miles cut a line into the icy tundra. The width was the size of a car, steam rose up out of te edges of the cut from the sheer heat of the gold light.

Skarr watching the golden light come at him didn't run or dodge, he just grinned savagely and spread out his arms like he was giving a hug. And right when the gold light was upon him, Skarr slammed his hands together and caught it like a frisbee.

A small thump echoed out as he caught it.

Magnus seeing this was stunned, no one has ever caught a strike from Jarnbjorn ever since he got the weapon, besides his mother. But that's beside the point, this young man- no this young creature was no normal warrior.

And this excited Magnus to no end, so much so that some of his divinity began to secrete out from his body, it was like a golden milky light had emerged out from his body. His hair began to float upwards like the wind was blowing it.

Small arcs of lighting began to appear along his arms and even his eyes. Magnus was thrilled, he felt like he had finally found a worthy opponent. One that he could give his all to and they in turn would do the same.

Magnus's momentum was astonishing, the wind whipped and crackled around him. It looked like he was ready to take this bout up another notch. Especially if that axe Jarnbjorn had anything say, its edge glistening underneath the golden light forming on it.

The axe even began to tremble in anticipation.

Skarr dispersing the attack from Magnus caught sight of this. The momentum of Magnus was like the banging of drums echoing in the field. And just like Magnus, Skarr also loved this.

As he too felt the exact way as Magnus did.

Granted he fought with is mothers, and his brother Arcann.

But he could never really go all out in attacking them. It just didn't really sit well with him, but Magnus on the other hand had open a door that Skarr thought would never be opened until his father came out of his seclusion.

If he ever did that is.

The door that held back his bloodlust and hunger for battle!

Not wanting to stop, Skarr's tattoos began reflecting his own emotions. As they began to glow bluish white, and a bright flame lit ablaze on his arms. All the way down to his hands, and up to his shoulders.

They were like gauntlets for war!

Even Skarr's green pupils began to shine brightly, like a beacon of light. That along with his blazing tattoos and his black sclera made Skarr look like a demon straight out of the deepest pits of hell.

The ground between both of them, the entire fifty miles began to tremble, creating webs and fractures in the ground the size of cars. Even the sky began to darken a bit, while the wind all over began to blow like a tornado was forming, it was so fierce that it even began to wail.

Flashes of lighting began to strike the ground near both of the young men.

Soon rain began to fall from the sky, and once the first drop of rain touched the ground. Skarr and Magnus exploded from their positions like the very lighting itself.

Magnus, with his axe in hand swung it down like lighting. It was almost like he was casting judgment down upon Skarr, Jarnbjorn tore through air like it was a missile, it locked onto Skarr like it couldn't wait to taste his blood.

Arcs of lighting followed the axe as it fell towards Skarr, and the wind around it burned into nothingness, it was erased from the sheer power behind the axe.

Skarr seeing this followed his instincts, using the old power. Skarr made the ground beneath him catapult him directly over Mangus and into sky. He was a bit high up, but low enough for many to still see him.

Using the old power Skarr made his body heavier, and then doing was he does best, kicked out his right foot and spun down like he was a tornado, the bluish white energy encapsulated his entire body, he looked like if a shoot star was crashing into the earth.

*Shrwmmmmmm*

He shot down and mid-way he broke the sound barrier.

Magnus seeing this knew he couldn't dodge, so quick on his feet, he spun around and put Jarnbjorn directly in front of him, then in ancient Norse language he said, "Skjǫldr!"

The runes on his arms glowed a bit.

This was right when Skarr finally struck him.

*THRAZCKKKUMMMM*

Like the ground was cardboard, it exploded beneath Magnus, and it flung great pieces of ice rocks all over the place, while splitting the area even more. A crater the size of a yacht formed right where Magnus was.

Skarr sort of frowned at the feeling of something hard beneath is feet, once he looked down, he saw the area beneath his feet was cracked like glass, and a golden symbol was blocking his attack.

He saw a line going down, while two other W shaped lines intersected with on another on top of the first line.

Gritting his teeth Skarr pushed down even harder, while Magnus seeing his magic worked smiled.

*CRACKKKK*

But that smile was short lived, as his symbol was beginning to crack, a black boot surrounded in bluish white power was bout land directly on his face. Skarr seeing his progress grinned and pushed even harder into it.

Magnus seeing his symbol quickly disintegrating made a quick-thinking decision. He spun back the other way and leaped away, just far enough to where he was out of Skarr's attack range.

Just in time too, as the symbol gave away and Skarr's foot reaped the ground like a disaster.

*Booooooooom*

An epic bluish white explosion of energy happened as Skarr's right foot landed on the ground. The ice completely turned into magma in the radius of hundred miles. Skarr although disappointed he missed just shrugged, and his right leg submerged in the magma he simply flexed his leg, and the magma exploded from around his it.

As he did, a bright golden light arose in his green eyes extremely fast. Like it was the rising sun itself, Jarnbjorn cut down at him. Skarr quickly thinking used a moved he saw his dad do a lot before he went into seclusion.

Skarr released a huge thunderclap, this clap not only blew him backwards out of reach on the axe, but also blew away the smoke and quickly cooled the magma around him and Magnus.

Jarnbjorn chopped down directly in the spot that Skarr was in before he did his thunderclap.

Skarr stood still, seemingly waiting, and not a second later did footsteps echo out from in front of him. Jarnbjorn trembled and flew out of the ground and back into the right hand of Magnus himself.

Magnus walked for the first time since they began fighting, he spoke to Skarr. Holding Jarnbjorn, Magnus stood not but four feet away from Skarr as he said, "Names Magnus warrior, what is thy name grey one?"

Skarr narrowed his eyes at the sound of his accent, he was pretty sure that he has heard this type of accent before, but he wasn't sure where. But he didn't think it important, and he said, "Names Skarr," and looking at Magnus golden white hair, Skarr grinned as he said, "Goldilocks!"

Magnus didn't know why but he was annoyed greatly by name Skarr gave him. His nerves were on fire after hearing this and he almost attacked Skarr once again. But instead, he said, "what did you say you grey Ape!"

And this just ticked Skarr of immensely. Crazily enough, even he didn't why he was annoyed by Magnus's tone of voice. It was like this for the both of them, and it ran deep in their blood.

(If only they knew why, Lol)

They were both quiet for some time, that was until Skarr shrugged his shoulders and said, "Fuck it!"

And charged Magnus like an angry bull, the wind whipped behind and around him as he did.

Magnus seeing the form of Skarr charging him just grinned, there was no more need for words, warriors like them only need to exchange words with their fists. After all the hour or two since they began fighting, he sensed no malice or evil coming from Skarr.

So, he just assumed that Skarr was not a very bad guy, but was a battle frenzied manic like him.

And with that thought in mind, Magnus slammed Jarnbjorn in the ground next to him and cracked his knuckles.

Then he two began charging at Skarr, both of them had extremely wide grins on their faces.

Soon the two of them met, and they both punched out. Fist to fist, each strike from them was like if multiple grenades were going off in succession. They never slowed down, in fact they speed up greatly, the shockwaves from their punches blew apart the magma turned ground like it nothing more than simple dirt and sand.

Elbow after each punch, strike after strike. Skarr and Magnus were enjoying this very much, and as they ramped up the stakes, a sort of invisible dome of energy formed above and around them.

Each and every one of their strikes made a burst of friction that broke of the ground even more. And thanks to this friction, they made their own domain of sorts from the sheer power behind each of their strikes.

A fist from Skarr landed on Magnus's jaw drawing first blood. Magnus ignored the pain, and pushed on the offensive, with a quick twist of his body, Magnus knee 'ed Skarr directly in the ribs, causing Skarr grunt in pain.

Then Magnus taking advantage of this grunt, grabbed Skarr right arm and twisted it while pushing Skarr's head forcefully into the magma ground beneath them.

Seeing his supposed fallen opponent, Magnus victoriously said, "You were a good fight Skarr the Grey One. But I am the victor here, and it would be best if you surrender."

To make his point even clearer, Magnus twisted Skarr's arm even more, to the point that if he pulled backwards, then it would break.

Now usually when Magnus would have his opponents like this, or in a situation where he had the upper hand, they would always all tap out, or give in.

Magnus's grin was short lived as he got no response from Skarr, instead all he could hear was laughter.

It was a dark and eerie laugh, Skarr's hair began to levitate, and his muscles bulged, increasing their mass. This shocked Magnus greatly, and right when he about to snap Skarr's arm in half, the ground beneath him turn extremely soft and wiggly.

It was like the ground became a liquid mirror of sorts, and Magnus's feet sunk deeply into it. And in the process, he lost the tight grip on Skarr's arm.

"Ah fuck!" Groaned out Magnus as he slipped, and then the wind rippled from Skarr's position as he spun his legs in a Y shape, knocking Magnus's balance off.

His chest exposed, Magnus sense extreme danger coming from Skarr. And so, he could only defend himself using his power over symbols and without even thinking he utilized the same one from earlier.

Just in time to as Skarr, just using his sheer physical power, Skarr thunder clapped behind him creating a small but powerful air current that propelled him forward towards Magnus like a missile.

And with both feet near his chest, Skarr kicked them out. The magnitude of this strike was ridiculous, as not only did it shatter the symbol Magnus put up and send him flying, but it also made a minor earthquake.

Feeling a good amount of the force from the kick, Magnus could only smile, blood spurt out of his mouth as splashed on his face, and a few cuts formed on his head. And as he crashed into a huge ice hill in the distance, he couldn't help but feel like his stomach was knocked into his throat from that last move.

Skarr seeing this just began to slowly walk towards his opponent, he knew that would not put Magnus down for the count.

And he was right, as not even halfway there did the entire icy ground begin to tremble. And the air buzzed above the crater Magnus was in. The sky above began to darken like a huge storm was arriving, and it was.

As up above deep into the sky lighting began appearing like a beast, swirling around, and crackling in a funnel shape.

Soon it even began to strike the ground indiscriminately.

Some even stuck Skarr, but he just ignored them, or smacked them out of his way.

And right when he was close enough, the ice began to heat up, and even melt. Large amounts of steam began rising form the ground for miles on end.

Deep in the crater, Magnus's eyes snapped open wide pulsing with an undisguised terrible power. In his blue mystical eye's, a storm of wind and lighting could be seen. And all around his body the snow turned bright orange from the heat emanating from his body.

Slowly, Mangus grabbed the ground melting it even more, and crazily enough along both of his arms, then down to his hands, the skin on them were bright orange. A storm of fire that could barely be contained in them.

Magnus slowly stood up, and he raked his right hand over his face turning the blood on it into steam. Even the cuts on his face were burned closed. Then his hand slowly went through his hair, once he did, Magnus's eye's locked onto Skarr in the distance like a hawk.

"Not in all of my life have I ever experienced pain like this," He spoke spreading out his hands showing the scratches and marks along his body.

Stepping on the mound of snow before him, Magnus's body and feet began to sparkle alive with lighting. The wind even began pick up its pace, blowing the ice apart like it was nothing more than trash.

It began blowing harder and harder, it was like a storm was coming. And it was, because all around Magnus and behind him dark clouds blotted out the sky, forming 100 mile per hour winds.

"I have to thank thee Skarr, you have shown me a very important lesson," He calmy spoke, and as he did, the lighting on his body began to intensify, even the wind converged on his body like a second skin.

Looking at Skarr, Magnus said, "I look at you and you are so carefree. It's even in your movements, so much so that it's unpredictable." "Like that move earlier, turning ground soft like that, and diverting my attention to it, was a masterful display of strategy!"

Cocking an eyebrow, Skarr a bit annoyed said, " Can you get to the point, Goldilocks."

"Ha," Magnus released a chuckle, then his face got deadly serious as he said, " You have shown me that I need to stop thinking, and just simply let go of all restraints in a fight."

"Win or lose, it doesn't matter," Magnus spoke deeply, then the lightning on his body intensified greatly, it formed what looked to legs like a spider on the back of Magnus.

From his neck and on down to his feet, long legs of lightning whipped out. A heavy bout of pressure fell on the field.

To anyone else Magnus would look horrifying, but to Skarr all he saw was that his opened had stopped holding back. And in a weird way if felt like he should respond in kind, like it was a disrespectful thing if he didn't.

At least that was the feeling he got from Magnus's eyes as they stared at one another.

"It seems that he is waiting on me." Skarr thought, a weird feeling arose inside of him, one he couldn't quite place. But he'd think on this feeling another time, right now an opponent is waiting on him. And if there is one thing Skarr never does, it's leave an opponent waiting.

So, Skarr took a step forward, his dimly glowing tattoos began to brighten immensely. Soon a loud rumbling echoed out from his body like a mountain was collapsing.

And then the bluish white energy within him exploded out like a bomb had detonated.

It ripped the sky asunder and blew off any kind of influence Magnus had on it.

All around Skarr the wind, ground, and sky were filled with him. It looked like a bluish white sea of power was flooding out of him at the center, his black hair levitating upwards as his muscle mass slightly increased.

Skarr's previously green eyes were now a darkening blue.

The sense of calamity filled the area around him, the earth beneath him began to quake, the skies formed a hurricane over him that stretched for a hundred miles.

Calamity had struck!

Skarr opened up his mouth and it looked like he had not teeth, but just a white void of light.

He said, "I'm ready.... are you!"

His voice boomed out like thunder as he spoke.

After that, the world around them blurred as they crossed the distance and met fist to fist.

*Thwackboooooom*

The world around them began to crack like a mirror, but the two of them where so involved in their fight they didn't care to see it. Long cracks began to fill up the world after each of their collisions.

Soon the world began to rumble, like it was about to collapse. If nothing was done, serious damage could happen to the earth.

Or would it?

---------------------------------

Not far off from the center of all this devastation, Arcann calmly sat on a floating red carpet in the air watching the fight between his brother and Magnus. He shook his head at the sheer damage from this fight.

Then he said, "Good thing I learned the Mirror dimension spell from Agamotto, or else the maps would need some redrawing."

Then he began seeing the cracks forming and multiplying. Not wanting this fight to spill out into the real world, Arcann flooded it even more with his own magic to keep it functioning.

"Hell from the way it's ramping up, if they weren't in this spell then maybe the surface of the world would need some intervention like last time when Skarr fought that other young guy."

"Ah, what was his name, susyy? No, sucky? No, it was suss-"

As Arcann brainstormed a list of names, trying to find the right one. Down beneath him a small hill of icicles had formed, soon the hill of icicles melted down into a pool of water. Then from the center of the liquid a white hand reached out.

Then another hand reached out, then another, and another, a total of four hands reached out form the pool of liquid. And after a bit of them gripping the ground, the hands pulled a body out from the portal.

It was the ice giant Magnus was searching for, and currently it was looking around the place.

Soon its vision landed on Arcann, and a sense of extreme hunger filled its mind, and it made the ice beneath it bulk up in size, crystalized spike of ice began to be merged with one another, and it grew into a much bigger ice spike.

A dark energy filled it up with a much stronger potency.

Once it had it prepared, the Ice Giant casted it towards Arcann like a spear, it cut straight through the wind like an arrow seeking its target.

It's line of sight was on none other than Arcann, and if it reached him, then it would skewer him like a pig...or would it?

"It was the God Susanoo." Arcann finally remembered the name, shaking his head Arcann realized how kittle he thought of Susanoo, to not remember his name and theft act that he was a god to.

Arcann just chuckled at his own brain.

As he was laughing Arcann popped another piece of popcorn in his mouth while cringing at the brutal haymaker Skarr just gave Magnus in the throat, then he followed it up with a blast of his own power.

And vice versa, as Magnus proceeded to turn into the wind and knee Skaar directly in the spine, and down into the ground. Their destructive waves of energy proceeded to rip up the ground even more and set off loud explosions in the air.

At least thanks to Arcann, their horrid power wouldn't spill over into the real world. But eventually he's run out of energy and if they were still fighting then.... oh boy!

Arcann just shook his head again as he thought about this.

And right when he was about to pop another piece of popcorn into his mouth, a very large, crystalized spear of dark ice came flying straight at him.

"Oh poop." Was the last thing Arcann said before that spear crashed directly into him. it shot straight into his ribs like a knife, dark greenish red blood began to spurt out if Arcann's mouth.

His lungs began to fill with liquid of the ice and his own blood.

The Ice Giant on the ground grinned a nefarious smile seeing this. Then it began controlling the ice around it to bring him up in the air to collect his prize.

Its hunger was palpitating, and saliva ran down its mouth like water.

*Tap....Tap....Tappp*

"Quite a ridiculous mind dude, " Arcann said as he poked the still on the ground Ice Giants face with his finger.

You see Arcann already knew this thing was down here on the ground ever since he and Skarr arrived, so he just waited for it to show itself. And once it did, Arrcan played with its mind using his telepathy.

And he put that little scene from earlier in its mind, trapping the Ice Giant in its own mind, kind of like a prison. It will repeat and repeat for however long Arcann wants it to.

The Ice Giant could break out of it if it was much stronger than Arcann, but it's clearly not.

"Guess I'll just wait for them to finish, then decide on what to do with you," Arcann said, as he casted a spell and chains of wind began wrapping around the Ice Giants body like snakes.

Once that was over, Arcann simply floated back up to his carpet and continued watching the fight.

Wondering who would the victor be, he bet his on his brother.

And no not just because Skarr was his brother, but because Skarr has a very strong healing factor.

But from the looks of things, Magnus does not.

They've been fighting for an entire day inside of the Mirror dimension, and no clear victor could be seen.

Only time will tell.

-------------------------------------

Off in a very far away realm, on a rainbow bridge stood a tall golden building. It was a very beautiful sight to see, as the rainbow bridge traveled from this place and far off to a gigantic golden white castle.

But inside of this build sat a machine, a machine which had a single guard on watch.

This once guard stood in golden armor, and he had a large golden sword in his hands. His golden eyes sparkled with age and wisdom as he gazed out into the cosmos.

"Heimdall, how is everything?" A mature and powerful woman's voice came from behind the now named Heimdall as he stood like a statue gazing out into the cosmos.

"Everything is quite alright my Queen." He responded, earning a chuckle from the Queen.

"Where alone out here brother, just call me by my name will you." She said with mirth, and a wide grin.

Heimdall shook his head and turned to look at his younger sister, now Queen of Asgard Sif!

Oh, how time has changed many things, the once youthful and full of life sister of his was now older and sterner than ever, and he really couldn't blame her. It comes with the job of being Queen.

"Sif, all is well so far," he said hesitantly, while looking at her and then at the ground.

Sif, standing six feet and two inches, and wearing a reddish silver armored attire narrowed her eyes at Heimdall.

The silver crown upon her brow moved downward a bit as she did.

"What do you mean so far....is it Magnus?" She asked, a bit of worry in her voice.

Heimdall could shake give a weak grin, and said, "why don't you see for yourself, Sif."

Sif wasted no time in walking pass Heimdall and using her very own mystical sight to peer out into the cosmos, and down a trail of stars she saw the planet her son was on.

"Midgard?" She mumbled out, then locking on Magnus's divine signature, she soon came upon a scene that was just baffling.

And she didn't know if this was fate, or just simply ran in their blood.

Arcann was none the wiser as her gaze went pass him, and through the spell he casted.

Her eyes were just widened as she looked at her own son Magnus going all out for the first time with someone other than her. It almost made her proud, till she saw Skarr, who was the spitting image, of a smaller..."Hulk."

Sif realizing whose child this was almost broke out into laughter, then she said, "Like Fathers, Like son's."

She stayed and watched a while, then cut off her sight completely.

"Make sure you keep watch over them, as you watch our borders. I have to return to the king's side immediately."

Sif disappeared in a white glow of light as she spoke, and Heimdall just nodded agreeing with her.

He hoped all was well with the All-Father, especially after that debacle a few hundred years ago.

Then he too went back to watching the fight between Skarr and Magnus.

And even he couldn't help wondering, "Who's going to win?"
