Chapter 26 - The Poison Trial and the Prisoner of the Silver Dragon Clan

Chapter Twenty-Six: The Poison Trial and the Prisoner of the Silver Dragon Clan

After we left the cave, we headed straight to the Poison Swamp, where the entrance to the Poison Emperor's Tomb was located. My goal was to have Zilthan and Meridia absorb the poison in the swamp, as it would be extremely beneficial for them in their upcoming mission. This swamp is not just a place filled with poison; it is a true test.

The Poison Emperor set it up as part of a trial for those who wished to enter his tomb. The poison that fills this swamp is not just ordinary poison; it is Emperor-level poison, which means that not just anyone can handle it easily. However, for those who inherently possess poison, like Zilthan and Meridia, it is extremely beneficial—especially for Zilthan, who is a serpent with an Emperor-level bloodline. His poison will evolve to a level close to that of Emperor-level poison.

The idea was that I would have them absorb this poison so they could integrate it into their bodies, and at the same time, their own poison would evolve to a higher level.

By absorbing this poison and dealing with its power, Zilthan and Meridia would gain incredibly potent poison.

When we reached the entrance, the atmosphere was charged with mist and electricity, and the ground was filled with toxic vapors rising from the swamp. One could feel the intensity of the poison in the air, as if life itself was being drained from the place. At that moment, we felt the weight of the atmosphere, and everything seemed still—except for the faint sounds of the surrounding nature.

"Are you both ready?" I asked them.

Zilthan looked at me seriously and replied.

Zilthan said, "Yes, but we need to be careful. This place is not what it seems."

I nodded. "Exactly. You must absorb the poison gradually and not underestimate any step. If we can get through this swamp, it will be the first step toward obtaining the Poison Emperor's legacy."

We stepped forward slowly, and the closer we got to the swamp, the denser the poisonous air became, making it harder to breathe. The real challenge now was to stay in place without losing focus.

"Hmm… Alright, Zilthan, you and Meridia start absorbing the poison here. Focus on developing your poison element to a higher level instead of trying to increase your cultivation level. Mia and I don't possess the poison element, so we won't be able to absorb it. We'll wait for you both until you turn this swamp into an empty pool."

"Alright, my little one, Meridia, go with him and gain new strength, okay?"

Meridia said, "Brother, I'm a turtle. Do you really want me to absorb this thing? This seems really dangerous! Do you want to kill me? Do you hate me?"

"You lazy turtle, did you forget that you have the Black Serpent bloodline? That means you possess the poison element. Just go. If you really can't do it, then come back, okay?"

Meridia sighed and said, "Hmm… Fine, I'll try, but only because you asked. If I can't do it, I'll just come back and sleep on your back, okay?"

"That's our agreement."

Zilthan and Meridia began absorbing the poison slowly while I watched them cautiously. It was clear that Zilthan had experience dealing with poisons; he started absorbing and refining them within his body without major issues. As for Meridia, she was hesitant at first, but after a few moments, she closed her eyes and began trying to absorb it as I had instructed.

I watched her tremble slightly, perhaps due to the poison's strong effect, but she quickly adapted.

Meridia slowly said, "Hmm… It's not as bad as I thought, but it's still bitter."

I laughed and said, "If you succeed, your body will become stronger, and maybe you'll become less lazy."

She lifted her head tiredly and replied.

Meridia said, "I'm not promising that!"

"Alright, the important thing is that everything here gets absorbed."

Meridia said, "I'll try to do that."

As for me, I was watching closely. Although I was confident they would successfully pass this test, I remained extremely cautious.

If either of them failed to absorb the poison correctly, I would have to intervene immediately.

In the end, succeeding in overcoming this swamp didn't just mean surviving the poison—it also meant passing the trial and unlocking the gate to the tomb itself.

(From the third-person perspective - Avalon World, Silver Dragon Clan's Domain)

Inside the Silver Dragon Clan

The Silver Dragon Dungeon, where the security was extremely tight, and soldiers were stationed everywhere.

At this moment, the sound of high heels echoed across the floor…

Tap…

Tap…

Tap…

One of the guards spoke: "Your Majesty!"

Standing before the guards was a beautiful girl with silver hair and a dragon tail covered in dazzling silver scales, swaying behind her.

She was the Queen of the Silver Dragon Clan, the current ruler of the Silver Dragons—her name was Rose.

Rose said, "Leave, all of you. I want to speak with him alone."

The guard responded, "As you command, Your Majesty!"

After dismissing the guards, Rose stepped into the cell where the prisoner was being held.

Rose said, "Oh, the great Dragon Slayer… How does it feel to be a prisoner of mySilver Dragon Clan?"

Inside, a young man with short black hair and black eyes was bound in chains.

The young man spoke: "Kill me…"

Rose smirked mischievously. "Oh? You want a quick and painless death? It's not that easy… Hmm… You're quite the handsome one."

She lifted his chin with her hand, gazing at him thoughtfully.

Rose said, "If we added a few scars, that would be perfect."

Extending her finger, she slashed his cheek.

The young man let out a sound—

"Ghh…"

The young man said, "Stop humiliating me. You can kill me or cut me as you wish, just do it quickly."

Rose smiled as she licked the blood from her finger, saying, "As strong as you are, if it weren't for your betrayal by a villain, you wouldn't have ended up in this miserable state. So, how about joining the Silver Dragon Clan?"

He looked at her with disdain.

The young man said sarcastically, "Do you think you're worthy? You're just lizards."

With a slight movement of Rose's hand, the young man was flung, the chains binding him shattered, and he collided with the wall. He fell to the ground, coughing up blood.

"Cough… cough…"

Rose advanced and placed her foot on his chest, looking down at him arrogantly.

Rose said, "How dare a prisoner be insolent with me? Leon Kazimir, do you think you're still the great hero of humanity, praised by thousands? Are you still dreaming of wiping out the dragons and leaving a good reputation for future generations? Oh, wake up, you'll die here, you ignorant failure! Perhaps… I mean, perhaps, you could have given your descendants the chance to enjoy wealth and glory with you? It's an interesting hypothesis, isn't it? But unfortunately, you have no successor, so you won't have such a day."

Leon Kazimir raised his gaze to her and said coldly, "Rose… don't underestimate humans."

Rose wrapped her silver tail around his neck and lifted him to her eye level.

Rose said, "What a stubborn man you are!"

"Ghh…"

Leon Kazimir said weakly, "Your Majesty…"

Rose said, "What? Are you ready to beg for mercy?"

Leon Kazimir said, "From the beginning… you made two mistakes…"

Rose raised an eyebrow and said, "Huh? What are you rambling about? Have you gone mad?"

Leon Kazimir said, "First… you shouldn't be alone with… the strongest trained dragon slayer. Second… you shouldn't have… tasted my blood!"
