Linstad paused, then continued to reminisce:
"However, Old Master still let Miss Ivy in; he said he had something to tell her and dismissed us all."
"I didn't think much of it and just went out. I didn't know when Old Master and Miss Ivy went upstairs, but it must have been less than half an hour later,
I heard Miss Ivy's cries for help from outside and then knew something had happened to Old Master."
As he spoke, Linstad's face was filled with a look of regret, and he heavily slapped his own face.
"It's all my fault, I should have stayed by Old Master's side."
As he spoke, this robust man started to sob softly.
Elly Campbell watched from the side, feeling quite disturbed.
"Linstad, don't blame yourself. If grandfather told you to leave, you couldn't just ignore his orders."
It was just such a coincidence that nothing usually happened when Linstad was by grandfather's side, but as soon as he left, grandfather fell down the stairs.
