"Hello?" Xia Yiwan answered without much thought.
"Xiaxia, happy birthday." A gentle voice of a woman came through the phone.
Xia Yiwan's expression changed, "You don't need to say that to me!"
After saying that, she immediately hung up the phone and turned her head away.
Yiwan glanced over in surprise, only to catch a glimpse of what seemed like a flash of tears in her eyes.
Yiwan hesitated for a moment, then she understood.
It must have been Xiaxia's biological mother who called.
Just as she was thinking, the phone rang again, and Xiaxia pressed to end the call without even looking.
Yiwan sighed softly.
Originally, when Xiaxia and her father were going through tough times, her mother had abandoned them and left.
That incident was the greatest pain in Xiaxia's heart.
The phone rang several more times, but Xiaxia didn't answer.
"The past..." Yiwan tried to speak.
"Don't speak for her. I will never forgive her!" Xiaxia interrupted Yiwan.
Yiwan fell silent.
