Qian Cangyi turned around and saw Ran Ya hiding in the corner, watching him at the same time.
Their gazes met in the air.
Qian Cangyi lifted his right index finger to his lips, making a quieting gesture.
Ran Ya nodded to show her understanding.
The light from the flashlight outside the house swayed twice before gradually moving away.
Qian Cangyi turned around, pressing his right ear against the wall to listen for footsteps outside the house.
The sound of a group's footsteps was loud and became less audible as they moved further away. He waited until he couldn't hear them at all before he crouched down and walked over to Ran Ya.
"They didn't come in to search?" Ran Ya was somewhat surprised.
"Not surprising, with so many abandoned houses in Fuluo Village, they couldn't possibly search each and every one. They just came to check now in hopes of getting lucky," Qian Cangyi replied quietly.
"So what do we do? Continue to stay here?" Ran Ya looked lost.
