Chapter 38: The Path to Immortality
Ron gazed at his newly formed Meridian Points with satisfaction. He had taken the next step on the Grand Knight path, advancing to the Saint Knight stage. Anyone walking this path needed to create these Meridian Points at precise locations and channel life force through their body.
Only Ron, with his Dantain, could fully unleash the potential of this path, taking the magic inscriptions and formations of a Branded Swordsman to a whole new level. Previously, he could increase his stats with Dantain but not refine his blood. These Meridian Points allowed him to refine his blood, purify it using the energy from the Dantain.
Moreover, the Meridian Points could refine emotional outbursts and beastly tendencies associated with the bloodline, freeing Ron from these constraints. He still refined Serenity Potion, just to be cautious.
Ron had no desire to be enslaved by his bloodline; he wanted to exploit it while it was useful and then refine his own bloodline. He knew better than to declare war against the Snake Dowager and defy her bloodline control. His goal was to create a stronger bloodline before she attempted to thwart his growth, but he wasn't there yet.
With his vast resources and numerous Bloodline Crystals, Ron could accelerate his advancement phenomenally.
After getting dressed, Ron performed some standard martial movements, understanding his reinforced body better. His thoughts then turned to the innate spell of Magi, having learned more about it from Kemoyin's Pupil meditation technique and the Book of the Giant Serpent.
Typically, Magi would choose a rank 1 defensive spell model and use Grine Water to make a breakthrough, a method with limited potential. If they couldn't secure more precious resources and a suitable rank 2 spell model, their advancement hopes would dwindle.
However, the core members of large organizations and elite Magi families practiced high-level meditation techniques, which could promote their rank. Each level of the meditation technique corresponded to a specific rank of a Magus, and each level also revealed a fixed innate spell model.
Warlocks, on the other hand, depended on luck, blood essence purity, and concentration for their innate spells. Ron possessed the blood essence of an ancient being, the Kemoyin Serpent, making it highly compatible with the high-level meditation technique.
He extended his spiritual force into a crystal, instantly knowing the details of his innate spell: the Eye of Petrification and the Scales of Kemoyin. He had also acquired a Saint Knight Secret Technique called 'Rampage,' allowing him to coagulate 'Pure Blood Essence' from the bloodline and use it to temporarily boost his strength.
"Eye of Petrification: A petrifying gaze emitted from the eyes, equivalent to a petrification spell. The target is immediately petrified. More powerful beings are temporarily immobilized. Consumption: 1 spiritual force, 1 magic power."
"Scales of Kemoyin: Instantly forms a layer of scales providing physical defense of 25 degrees and magic defense of 27 degrees. Consumption: 1 spiritual force and 1 magic power every 5 hours."
"Rampage: Burn the Pure Blood Essence to achieve a substantial strength increase, with the boost depending on blood purity."
The A.I. Chip calculated the consumption for Ron, which was significantly lower than if he had formed these spells through a spell model.
Furthermore, Ron realized he could maintain the Scales of Kemoyin for a minimal consumption of 2 points of spiritual force and magic power.
"With my current strength, I only need to worry about those who have surpassed 50% Elemental Conversion. With Rampage, I can even contend with a peak Rank 1 Magus."
Ron calmly estimated his newfound power, acknowledging that the path of Warlocks offered substantial benefits after an advancement. As for becoming a Rank 2 Magus, he decided not to think about that for now.
