As the early morning mist rolled off the peaks of the Lightning Valley, Jafar and Mitsuya began their departure from the village, their mission far from complete. The scent of ozone still lingered in the air, a reminder of the raw power that thrived in these lands.
But just as they passed through the final village gate, a pair of young voices pierced the quiet.
"Hey, mister!"
Two boys, no older than twelve, stood in their path. One wore a wild grin, the other looked mildly embarrassed. Their hair crackled faintly with static — clear signs of their clan heritage.
"My name's Ken Valentine, and this is my brother Spencer. Sons of Kobara Valentine, one of the strongest warriors in this entire clan!"
Ken puffed his chest, his posture full of pride.
"Our dad says we're too weak to fight real demons — so we're here to prove him wrong. We already beat every other kid around, so now we're moving on to tougher opponents… like you!"
Spencer scratched the back of his head.
"Uh, yeah... although I didn't exactly sign up for this. I just wanted to check out hot girls..."
"Quiet, Spencer!"
Mitsuya blinked.
"Are these pipsqueaks talking to us?"
Jafar shook his head.
"Just ignore them."
"HEY!! Don't ignore us!! We're serious here!"
Ken growled in frustration and clenched his fists. Sparks began to dance across his arms.
"That's it. Spencer, on my count — we're going in with our best move. One, two…"
"Do we really have to—?"
"—THREE!"
Lightning exploded around the brothers as they dashed forward, electricity surging through their small frames. The storm they created was surprisingly intense, especially for kids.
"We call this our ultimate move— SUPER ULTRA LIGHTNING KILL MOVE!"
Both of them darted at frightening speed, lightning trailing behind them like comet tails. Ken veered left, aiming for Mitsuya, while Spencer lunged right toward Jafar. The energy around their heads sharpened into blade-like points, ready to strike.
But just as the attack reached its climax…
Step.
Mitsuya and Jafar calmly took a single, synchronized step backward.
CRACK!
Ken and Spencer collided headfirst with each other, their momentum backfiring in a spectacular arc of sparks and pain.
"OWWW! My head!"
"Dammit, Spencer! You ran into me!"
"What?! You ran into me, idiot!"
Jafar sighed, glancing over his shoulder.
"Are they done bickering yet?"
"Just keep walking," Mitsuya muttered. "We've got work to do."
"You could at least ask if they're okay."
"We let them off easy."
As the two warriors walked away, the brothers shouted after them.
"HEY! You think you can just humiliate us like that?! We'll—..."
Spencer looked around.
"Uhh... Ken? They're gone."
"What?! VANISHED?!"
Ken dropped to his knees, shaking his fists at the sky.
"DAMMIIIIIIIIIIT!!!"
Far from the chaos of youthful antics, Jafar and Mitsuya continued their journey, leaving the Land of Lightning behind.
Their next destination loomed ahead: the Water Village, a hidden realm tucked deep within a valley of mist and springs. The air grew denser, cooler, and calm.
This was a land blessed by the sea god Poseidon, a sacred place untouched by time. At its heart stood a singular figure — the village's eternal guardian.
Zeref Wonder.
Chosen by Poseidon himself over a thousand years ago, Zeref had been granted divine power and immortality. He was the first and last protector of the Water Clan. His body had never been wounded in battle. His presence was enough to make enemies crumble before raising a hand.
No other in the village had ever received control over the water element — because Zeref didn't need help. He was the shield, sword, and storm of his people.
Mitsuya paused at the edge of the village gates.
"Now then... shall we enter, Jafar?"
The gates slowly creaked open, mist spilling out like a silent wave welcoming them into a place of ancient power.
