*3rd POV*
'Fucking hell, what the hell did I even do last night for me to do all those things. Wait... Let me ask Ramona if what he said is even true.' Thought Strat to Himself
He pulled away from Sarah and went towards Ramona.
"Hey, um. Did I do any questionable things to you last night?" He said straight up to her.
One of her eyebrows went up as she heard his question.
'Holy shit! Who told him!!!' She thought.
"Yeah, nothing happened between us last night." She said in denial.
'Yeah I can't reveal to him or Sarah what happened when we were both drunk.'
"Fucking Henry, what he told me was fake. Thank you for clearing it up for me." Said Strat to her.
'Henry?'
"I'm going to give him a rough time when I see him." Said Strat in confidence.
*First POV*
"Henry, meet me near Ransor Blvd at the Burger fast food restaurant. I need to talk to you in person about something." I said to him still on call.
"Alright, at what time you want to meet?" He asked.
"Right now." I responded.
...
"Hey, can I get two burger meals with no pickles and add extra cheese." I said to the cashier.
"Alright, that'll be 31.46 euros. Cash or card?" Asked the cashier.
I went into my pocket and bought out a 50 euro bill.
"I'll pay with cash," I said while giving it to the cashier.
"Thank you, here's your change. Do you want your receipt?"
"Yes, please." I responded.
The cashier gave me the receipt. Now, you may be wondering," Isn't this a cyberpunk type of world. So, why aren't you paying it virtually." Yes, it is a cyberpunk type of world, but people still pay with cash here and frankly it's still more convenient to have some on you. Usually we use the virtual money when we get paid for our missions or gigs.
I went towards the corner of the restaurant and sat down while I waited for my order. Thats when I got a call from someone I didn't know.
[XXX is currently trying to call you]
My intuition kept telling me to answer the call, so I answered it.
"Who's this." I asked immediately.
"My, my, my hasn't it been a long time. Sebastian." Responded the female voice.
Why do I always end up getting called by a woman. It just gets boring having to get called by a woman every time.
"You never answered my question, who are you." I asked again.
"No need to be angry Sebastian. It's just me, your favorite god, Athen." He responded.
I heard my order number getting called, so I went to go get it. I sighed before responding back to Athen.
"What's with the mission?" I asked while taking my plate that has my order back to my table.
"Hey, you always regretted having to kill or witness everyone you loved end up getting killed. So, I forcefully integrated a mission into your system. Do you not want to have this opportunity?" He asked.
"It's not that I hate the mission, quite the contrary. But it just seems that the events that had happened to me. Seem a little to unrealistic. Like the incident that I had with Greysin at my apartment. Or the killing of my old friend due to the malfunction of the system," I said while taking off the tomatoes before proceeding of eat the burgers.
"Malfunction to the system? I created that system just for you. How could it malfunction? I made sure there were no errors in it. Unless.... Did you have any interactions with a woman with silver hair and red eyes?" He asked.
"Yeah, I did. Is the woman you're talking about named Iversial by any chance?" I responded while eating some fries.
"..."
"You didn't do anything weird to her, did you?" Athen asked.
"No, why?" I said in confusion.
"Good because I would've killed you if you had laid your hands on my sister." He said.
"Oh, I felt there was some resemblance between you and her. But to think she was your sister." I said while I went for the other burger.
"Well, I mean both me and her were born from the same burst of energy that created by the universe. My brother on the other hand was created after the creation of the universe. All three of us spent much of our years killing gods of other universes and creating our own servants that serve as the systems we create operators." Responded Athen.
"I thought this was going to be a regular conversation and not your story of the past you, Athen," I said after finishing my last burger and diving into my fries.
"Yeah, it was until you talked ab5tbr resemblances between me and my sister." He responded.
"Well, back to what we were talking about. Since you had some contact with my sister, the system glitched due to it trying to stabilize itself from being destroyed by the energy hidden in my sister." He explained.
"So to sum it up, your sisters energy nearly almost destroyed my system. Am I correct?"
"Yes," He responded.
"Alright. So, how's the entertainment I'm providing to you so far?" I asked.
"Ehhh. It's been kind of good but at the same time boring." He responded.
"It's been kind of a ride for me after all the events that happened to me. I'm surprised you didn't say that it's great. I'm just disappointed in the response you said to me." I said while cleaning myself up with some napkins.
"Well, you've done good things to entertain me but you still haven't even completed the mission I gave you the first time we met." He said in disappointment.
"Well, I've tried to complete it but it just seems like everything went through so fast. The first thing I did when you sent me back was to replicate the cybernetics that I had before and I was able to find the cybernetics I had before. I killed the human traffickers and went through a Batman arc. I killed the killer of my girlfriend and ended up going berserk when facing Sauriel. I killed the Entirety of the Holy Trinity and ended in this situation. It all feels unreal." I said to him.
"Well this is only the beginning Sebastian or Strat. This just the first step into your rising of being the new Reaper." He said.
"About that. Could you tell me more about the title Father of the Reapers for me?" I asked him.
"Sure."
"So, when I was in my prime. I created the Reapers. They were a legion of warriors with my blessing of war and wisdom. They were fitted with cybernetics similar to the ones you have but much more advanced. They were my army that were on the front lines when invading universes that needed to be destroyed. They eradicated the beings of the universe they invaded and created a utopia for the new humans that they revived. But sooner or later this legion or my army were eradicated by the one and only Azathoth. He deemed the legion as a threat to him even though they weren't that powerful that they could face him.
So, he ended up eliminating them from existence but there were three survivors left since they weren't on duty and were under my protection. Those people were Savannah Vasquez, David Vasquez, and Romero. They were with me exploring the universe that you originally was in. At the moment of the incident, I felt my powers getting erased which led me into falling unconscious and leaving the three of them in that universe. Many years later both Savannah and David died by the hands of Azathoth. Romero lived but I don't know where he is." Explained Athen.
"Wait you met my parents...." I said while remembering the faces of my parents.
"No wonder I felt your soul familiar. You were the son of those two. But it seems like you are blood related but synthetically blood related to them." Said Athen.
"Yeah, when I was younger they told me I was adopted and that my dad found me near a dumpster nearly dead." I said to him.
"Yeah it seems like they fused their powers into your soul which reinforced everything in your body. But it's too bad that they died. I would've liked to talked to them one last time. Well, it seems like I took a lot of time out of your schedule. Well talk to you when you finish this mission I assigned to you." He said.
"Alright, talk to you when I do finish the mission." I said to Athen before hanging up.
I got up from my seat and threw away my trash before returning back to my corner while waiting for Henry.
"To think my parents were under that fucker."
