"Send us home." Aizawa demanded.
"Come again for big fudge?" Maverick asked.
"There's nothing for our students to learn from this kid. He disregarded and broke the law and he continues to use the most powerful weapon in his galaxy that we know of as a mere toy. He's reckless, immature, irrational and doesn't understand the responsibilities of being a hero. Our kids are more likely to become villains watching his actions." The narcoleptic teacher ranted.
There was a short pause... before Maverick tried to pull out a bazooka again, only to be stopped by Anemone. "Well, you may have a point, Ben doesn't understand the responsibilities of being a hero... yet. But he's about to learn. As well as the sacrifices that come with it." She told him.
"I think they're right, sensei. Sure, Ben made a mistake, but he tried to make up for it. That should count for something." Midoriya tried to vouch for the boy.
"Yeah, one bad thing shouldn't make you a villain. I stole a candy bar from one of my friends once, but that doesn't make me evil." Kaminari agreed.
"I still want a replacement." Sato told him.
"Give the kid a chance..." Bakugo said somberly.
"Really? That's a surprise coming from you, Bakubro." Kirishima admitted in surprise.
"The kid fucked up. There's no denying that. But he knows where the line of seriously wrong is and he didn't cross it. Some people could learn from that..." The explosive Pomeranian told them in a melancholy tone, clearly thinking back to how he used to bully Midoriya. And how he DID go entirely too far.
"You mean like how used to bully Deku, right?" Uraraka asked him, to which he nodded. Thankfully, she didn't know nearly how far he'd actually gone, or she'd likely never speak to him again. " I mean, that's bad, but it's not like you actually did anything illegal." She said, not noticing as he clenched his arm rests tighter. "But yeah, I do agree, Ben knew when they went too far and tried to do the right thing in the end. And he even made us take a deeper look at ourselves and how we look at people." She said, remembering how Ben offered Kevin friendship and the host's following lesson about Toga.
"Yeah, forgiveness and trying to be better was a big part of that. And we're not even ten adventures in yet. Who knows how much more we'll see from him?" Asui said. She still wouldn't condone ANYTHING Ben's done so far, but she did have to admit, the boy had a good heart and they learned something wrong with the way their society thinks AS A WHOLE. As future heroes, they should do whatever they could to expand their mindset.
"Still, the boy is a delinquent. How can we trust that by following his actions, we won't start to follow in the rapscallion's ways?" Iida asked, chopping away.
"Because we're almost adults and capable of making our own decisions and knowing right from wrong?" Jiro questioned.
"Either way, this argument is pointless. They won't let us go until we're done here and we can't fight back against them, so our only option is to watch like they want." Midnight reminded them all.
A game show ding sound affect was heard as confetti blasted everywhere. "That's right, Midnight! Good for you, getting the right answer, have a cookie!" Maverick said, giving her a chocolate chip the size of her hand, with her fingers fully spread out. And with that, the viewing began.
High above the Earth, the Chimeran Hammer floated through space.
"Oh, no... It's the evil warlord guy again!" Mineta said fearfully.
"So, this must be his next plan to get the Omnitrix." Uraraka added nervously.
"And the last plan nearly worked. And he's likely only improved his strategy from there." Todoroki noted in concern.
Its hangar opened up and two Mechadroids were ejected and sent to earth, with a basic bioid monitored them. "The drones have launched. Equipped with the improved internal tracking system, they should be able to find and retrieve the Omnitrix." The machine explained to the Warlord, who was still recovering in his healing tank.
"That's it? They just made a better tracker? They found him right off last time! The tracker wasn't the problem! They just to turned into chew toys by Wildmutt!" Bakugo snapped.
"I mean, that big one did pretty good against Diamondhead." Kaminari pointed out.
"Yeah, but that was before he really knew how to use Diamondhead. Now, he knows how to shoot projectiles, reflect the beams and maybe even make constructs lik Tetrax did. No way that robot stands a chance now!" Sato countered.
"All excellent points, students. But that's assuming Young Ben gets the alien he wishes for. Or that they haven't also improved the AI of the robots to stay out of reach and use their lasers." All Might noted.
"They may find it, but retrieving it will not be easy. Whoever possesses the Omnitrix continues to be an opponent of extreme danger and inspiring brilliance!" The tyrant declared through labored breathing.
"Yeah, sure, let's go with that." Jiro said, struggling to hold back a laugh at just how inaccurate the villain's statement was.
"Say what you will, guys, but I'd definitely prefer that watch on Ben's arm instead of that villain's." Kirishima admitted.
"Indeed. Sometimes, one must pick the lesser of two evils." Tokoyami said.
"Yeah, even the worst hero is better than a villain." Dark Shadow agreed.
Meanwhile on Earth, Max and Gwen walked through a gas station store, when the elderly man noticed a stacked pyramid of cookie boxes. "Hm... Maybe I should get a box for Ben." He pondered.
"Yeah, he's been doing a lot of extra chores since New York. Can't believe I'm saying this, but he actually deserves a treat." Gwen agreed as Max grabbed one of the boxes.
"Well, at least he's trying to do the right thing now." Koda said meekly.
"No, he's just trying to suck up so he won't be in trouble with his grandfather anymore. There are no second chances." Aizawa said.
"Ugh, this motherfucker." Maverick groaned, rolling his eyes. "Well, if you really believe that, then why don't you expel this whole class except Bakugo, Jiro and Hagakure. Remember, you told the class all that before they moved into the dorm, how you would expel them all if you could have your way? Well, clearly you can, since you DID expel an entire class before-" He reminded the teacher, before turning to the 4th wall. "-And we're ignoring the stupid retcon where he re-enrolled them, that was just ridiculous and out of nowhere-" He explained, then turned back to Aizawa. "So, if you really don't believe in second chances, why did you give all these kids one? And a second AND THIRD chance to Bakugo and Midoriya after they fought THE NIGHT they moved into the dorms." He finished.
"Not to mention, you clearly knew Iida was going after the Hero Killer for injuring his brother during the internships, more than likely with the intent to kill." Anemone added, leaving the students shocked at the reveal Iida did such a thing. "So, not only did you approve his internship in Hosu, thus allowing him to pursue the Hero Killer, you SURELY heard of the incident and gave Iida no form of punishment for these actions. So, clearly, despite your protests, you ARE willing to give second chances." The serpent woman explained.
"Y-you actually went after the Hero Killer? The news made it sound like HE targeted YOU and the hero Native." Asui said in shock.
"And you were ACTUALLY planning to kill him?" Ashido asked in disbelief, unable to process their strict, by-the-books class president doing such a thing.
Iida was shocked and horrified this secret was revealed, but sighed. "Yes, it's true. After my brother was crippled, I was filled with rage. My hero and inspiration had been taken from me. I needed justice, to ensure that the Hero Killer could NEVER harm anyone again. But I was foolish. It was wrong of me, completely unbecoming of a hero. But I strive to make up for it every day." The bespectacled boy said resolutely. His eyes then widened after he said that last bit. "Just like Ben is doing now..." He realized silently.
"Huh. Doing something wrong, but doing good things to get back on the right track. Wonder who that sounds like." Maverick said, obviously referring to Ben. "Plus, if you're willing to excuse ATTEMPTED MURDER, I think you can let a TEN YEAR OLD off the hook for PETTY THEFT. Unless you WANT to be a massive hypocrite." The mantis man told Aizawa.
The class, teachers included, had to take a few minutes to sit and process this. Ultimately, they found they couldn't argue with the hosts, it'd be impossible to condemn Ben's actions while excusing Iida's far more serious crime. "I guess they've got a point. That'd be kind of messed up if we kept talking bad about Ben after hearing that." Ojiro admitted.
"Yeah. And we all know Iida still always tries to do the right thing and be a hero, even after what he's done!" Hagakure said cheerfully. "So if Iida can still be a hero after that, maybe Ben still CAN be a hero after that." She accepted.
"Especially since he ditched the video game, anyway. And didn't actually hurt anybody, unlike Kevin." Sero admitted.
Aizawa sighed at this, unable to find any room for argument. "Fine. We'll give the kid a break. But it doesn't mean we have to like it or put him on a pedestal any time he does ANYTHING good." Aizawa asked.
"Totally fair. All we're asking is you keep an open mind and cut the kid some slack..." Maverick said, before pausing. "And maybe stop bitching EVERY TIME this kid, who IS a child, once again, younger than any of your students, does something childish. Unless you want to start yelling at fish for spending too much time in the water." He added with a smirk, causing the narcoleptic teacher to grumble.
"Should we also mention Bakugo suicide-baiting Midoriya?" Anemone whispered to Maverick.
"Nah. I think they get the message." The mantis-like host explained, then smirked. "Besides, too many people want that." He said, flipping off the 4th wall. [1]
The two exit the store and walk towards Ben, who was washing the back window of the Rustbucket. After one more pass with the squeegee, the window was spotless, Ben lowering the tool and wiping sweat from his brow. "That's about all I can do." He said, looking to his family as they walked up.
"Huh... Nice work, Ben!" Max said with a smile.
"You know, a clean car shows you care. Makes a statement." The grandson replied gingerly.
"His tone is so different. Not the cocky, bratty tone we usually hear from him. He's actually being considerate and trying to show he cares. Maybe he really is sorry." Yaoyorozu said, feeling a bit bad she had judged the boy so harshly.
"Plus, it's not easy to clean a big RV like that. Especially for someone as small as Ben. You definitely can't say he's not working hard." Shoji praised.
"A good little boy that knows how to behave himself. That's something I can get behind." Midnight said.
"Lady, stop being horny! Especially for underaged people! Not just Ben, but your students, too!" Anemone exclaimed.
Suddenly, a heavy-looking truck at the gas station got hit by a laser, blowing it open and catching fire. "No, THAT'S a statement!" Gwen exclaimed.
"Mon Dieu! Could it be the drones already?!" Aoyama exclaimed in fear.
"Doubtful. Assuming these events all happen at the same time, the drones were only JUST deployed. Meaning, I doubt they've reached the Earth's atmosphere yet, let alone honed in on Ben's location. Especially since he hasn't activated the Omnitrix yet, assuming that's how the drones track it like the bounty hunters did. And even then, it seems unlikely they'd randomly attack a gas station instead of their intended target. I'm guessing it's something else, but what?" Midoriya broke down his reasoning for why it wasn't the drones.
"Whew! Not bad, young listener! We should bring you in on some cases for hero work. If you can break down crime scenes even HALF as thoroughly as you just did, half of the investigations we've been working on will probably be a cakewalk!" Present Mic said, impressed.
"They'll have classes like that in the future. Let's see how well he does there first." Aizawa said.
The blast that shot the truck came from a gang of 3 criminals, all wearing full biker outfits and wielding laser rifles.
"It's a common robbery. But they're causing so much needless destruction." Iida said harshly.
"Common?! When the fuck are laser rifles common!?" Bakugo questioned incredulously.
"Their level of technology confuses me. It seems like their weapons aren't much more advanced than ours, but then we see laser cannons like that. Not to mention, isn't that excessive for a simple robbery?" Yaoyorozu noted.
"I think there's more important things to worry about right now, Yaomomo." Jiro said, concerned for the Tennysons.
They advanced on the scene and noticed the Tennysons. "What are you looking at?" The gang leader demanded, glaring at a stunned Max. They then pointed their rifle at him!
"Bro, just because they looked at you funny?! You're running around, blasting things with laser beams! I think that would draw a lot of eyes!" Mineta cried out.
"Those weapons have empowered them, made them overly confident. Like they can take whatever they want. And anyone that says otherwise, they have no problem getting rid of. Because they have the power to do so, so they believe they have THE RIGHT to do so." All Might growled. Unbeknownst to him, this caused Bakugo to look down and and away guiltily.
"Gwen, Ben, get back!" The eldest Tennyson warned his grandkids. The gang leader fired the rifle at the family, but Max shoved Gwen and Ben behind the Rustbucket and managed to dive to the ground. But despite not being hit by the blast, he was down after this. (They sighed in relief that the family was unharmed, but still looked concerned for Max.)
"Gotta get Grandpa out of there!" Ben declared, activating the Omnitrix.
"And there's the signal for the robots." Aizawa sighed.
"Well, he had to do SOMETHING, Mr. Aizawa! His family was in danger! And someone needs to stop those crazy guys!" Uraraka exclaimed.
"Right... guys..." Maverick said, struggling not to laugh.
The gang members grabbed bags of money from the hole in the truck, but a rumble soon caught their attention: Four Arms was there.
"Oh, yeah! Four Arms! This is gonna be awesome and manly!" Kirishima declared, slamming his hardened fists together.
"A pretty good choice. Next to Diamondhead, Four Arms is likely the most durable alien in Ben's arsenal, so he should be able to tank the laser blasts from the robbers or the drones. And he'll obviously be able to do as much or more damage as he can take. He'll be able to reach the robbers with ease and to fight the drones, he has the options to either jump and snatch them out of the air to crush them, or throw some debris at them to destroy them." Midoriya noted.
"Yeah, honestly, I don't see many combat situations were Four Arms ISN'T a good option." Kaminari said.
He pounded the ground, sending a shockwave that knocked the gang over. "Go!" He told Max and Gwen. The female Tennyson helped up Max and the two ran for cover.
Just then, the driver of the blasted truck got out, holding his head. "You okay?" Four Arms asked. However, upon seeing the Tetramand, the driver was terrified and ran away yelling. "Hmm, wonder if that's a 'yes'..." The warrior alien questioned sarcastically.
"Oh, come on! He asked if you were okay! Clearly he's on your side!" Ashido complained.
"Pretty sure we've been over that aliens are pretty rare in this world, so it's understandable when people freak out seeing one, even if they're there to help." Jiro reminded her.
"Indeed. It's a stressful situation and seeing a massive, muscular creature unlike anything you've seen before would only add fuel to the fire. So while we know Four Arms is there to help, they can be forgiven for believing otherwise." Iida admitted.
Distracted, Four Arms got blasted back into the gas station by the gang leader. They fired a second time, but Four Arms managed to dodge under it. However, this caused the beam to instead hit a gas tank, exploding in a big fire. "Ben!" Max cried out in concern.
"Four Arms!" The students cried out.
"And that, young listeners, is why you never let your guard down in combat situations. Especially if you are the only hero on the scene!" Present Mic said.
"Also, if you're going to dodge something, make sure you get out of the way of any hazards that might get created from what the projectile DID hit." Midnight added.
The gang trained their guns on the fire. Unexpectedly, Four Arms leapt out of the pillar of smoke and surprised the three, knocking the ground and sending them flying. The gang leader landed on the ground and their helmet visor cracked, whereas the other two were knocked into the truck.
"Alright! Way to take 'em down!" Hagakure cheered, pumping her fists into the air.
"Nice way to take down all three of them at once." Todoroki said approvingly.
"Now just gotta give 'em one more good hit to keep them down until the cops come! Maybe he can get done before the drones even show up!" Sero said eagerly.
Four Arms picked up the two and removed their helmets, to find that their faces were feminine and they were wearing lipstick, earrings, etc.
"They were girls?!" The students- and even the teachers, minus Aizawa- all cried out in shock.
"Ben, you monster! You hurt the sexy, badass ladies!" Mineta snapped, waving his fist around.
"But, he didn't KNOW they were ladies." Koda defended the boy.
"Not to mention, they're criminals robbing an armored truck and blasting at everyone who looks at them wrong." Asui added.
"Huh? You're...all women? Look, I don't wanna hurt you-" Four Arms began.
"The hell are you doing, Watch Boy!? Take those bitches down!" Bakugo snapped.
"Bakugo! That is highly inappropriate! As men, we must be gentle and respectful to women, even if they are villains!" Iida scolded him.
"Iida, I know it SOUNDS respectful to refrain from harming females- villains or otherwise- but in doing so, you may actually be disrespecting us MORE by saying we are not worthy of going all out against." Yaoyorozu told him.
"Yeah. It hurt when Bakugo kept blasting me with his explosions during the sports festival, but at least I knew he was taking me seriously. That I was worthy of him going all out on and not holding back because he thought I was weak. All those heroes in the audience were telling him to go easy on me didn't make me feel better. It made me feel worse, because they were acting like I was weak and helpless and needed protection from him. But he didn't hold back and gave me everything he had. Which is what I was COUNTING ON, in order to get ammo for my Quirk for my meteor shower move." Uraraka said.
Bakugo chuckled at this. "You did good out there, Cheeks. If you HADN'T gotten blasted back by my counterattack, I would've been done. My arms were numb after that blast, I wouldn't have been able to defend myself." He told his girlfriend.
"Not to mention, as Asui said a minute ago, they're criminals, villains. And they have no problem putting civilians in harm's way. We don't have the luxury of going easy on them in that moment. They're a threat and they need to be taken down. Going easy on them is just putting yourself and civilians in further danger." Aizawa lectured.
"Indeed. Even during the USJ incident, there were a number of female grunts both Aizawa and I had to deal with in order to deal with the major players. Sometimes with villains, you simply can't afford to take it easy on them." All Might agreed.
Suddenly, the Tetramand was shot in back and fell to the ground. Standing behind him was the gang leader, unmasked. A third woman by the name of Rojo. "Well, isn't that sweet." The femme fatale said mockingly.
"And THAT'S why you don't go easy on them. Because they won't return the favor. That and letting his guard down again." Aizawa noted.
"That was a total cheap shot!" Sato snapped.
"Well, they ARE villains, after all." Ojiro said.
"Clobber her!" Gwen shouted to Four Arms.
"See! Even Gwen's giving him the green light!" Ashido exclaimed.
As the warrior alien raised his head and Rojo pointed her gun at him, he noticed something in the sky. Through the pillar of smoke, two of Vilgax's Mechadroids suddenly came flying in and started shooting.
"Mon Dieu! Why must everything ALWAYS get worse!?" Aoyama complained.
"We knew they would be coming, as soon as Ben activated the watch, we had just HOPED he'd have taken down the robbers first." Shoji said.
"Man, this kid just can't catch a break." Dark Shadow said.
"Indeed. The world of a hero is a perilous one. We must be prepared for danger at a moment's notice." Tokoyami agreed.
The gang and Four Arms dodged and the robots' shots hit the truck, blowing it up even further, bills of stolen money float through the air. "Hey! This is my heist!" Rojo snapped as she grabbed money out of the air.
"You can have it!" One of the gang members said as she and the other gang member ran off.
"Smart." All the students said simply.
"Sometimes, you gotta know when you're in over your head." Present Mic said, nodding with his arms crossed and eyes closed.
Rojo walked towards Four Arms, ready to shoot him while he was busy fending off the Mechadroids.
Thankfully, before she could shoot, Max threw a tire at her back, knocking her down.
"Alright, Max!" Many of the students cheered.
"See?! The geezer understands! Equal rights, equal fights!" Bakugo declared.
"Also, way to cover for your grandkid." Jiro added approvingly.
"Ben, those drones must be after the watch!" He notified his transformed grandson.
Rojo got up and whipped around to Max. "You get yours own, man." She declared, firing the laser rifle. Max ducked under the beam, but she raised the weapon, sending the beam upward, causing the roof above him to break into pieces and fall on top of Max, incapacitating him.
"Max, no!" The students all cried out at once.
"Those were big chunks of rubble, falling from a significant distance! Add in the fact Max is older and not as resilient as a younger man..." All Might said in concern, not noticing the host trying not to laugh.
"And this is why civilians shouldn't get involved with hero work. They can get hurt if they're not qualified." Aizawa lectured, although he was still worried for the elderly man.
With that line, the hosts could barely contain their laughter. "'Mone, I can't-!" Maverick told his partner as he leaned against her, GREATLY struggling not to burst out in laughter.
"Stay strong. We can't let them catch on yet!" Anemone told him, although she, too, was barely keeping her giggles from escaping.
"Grandpa!" Gwen cried out.
"Nooo!" Four Arms cried out as well.
The Mechadroids' continued to fire Four Arms, quickly angering him.
"Uh-oh! He's mad now!" Ashido exclaimed.
"Can you blame him? He just saw his grandpa get flattened!" Sato said.
"It's definitely about to be a bad time for those robots." Uraraka said as she watched intently.
"And probably that girl, too." Hagakure added.
The drones tried to rush him but he gripped them by their heads and let them flail helplessly. "Nice try." He growled at them, before smashing them together, turning them into discs. Discs he then threw square at Rojo, knocking her out.
"Ooh!" The students all exclaimed with a wince.
"So much for not hurting girls." Kaminari said.
"I'm amazed she's still in one piece!" Mineta exclaimed.
"You guys saw it when he beat Kevin in those last few seconds before the Omnitrix turned him back. Ben treats this hero stuff like a game. But when he's done playing, it's downright scary what he's capable of." Anemone told them.
Four Arms then rushed over to Max and brushed the rubble off him. "We need to get him to a hospital! I'm calling 9-1-" Gwen began, before Four Arms suddenly snatched her up. "Ben?" She questioned as he picked her up and placed her on his shoulder.
The Tetramand then gently scooped up Max in his lower arms. "No time! Hospital up the street!" He declared, taking giant leaps up the street.
"Ben, you're going to hurt him! Something was likely broken or dislocated from that rubble landing on him! All that jumping and hard landings will rattle him violently and make those injuries worse!" Yaoyorozu cried out in horror.
"Well, yeah, but it's not like he has many better options." Ojiro pointed out.
"Too bad he can't just turn straight into XLR8 or Stinkfly." Sero said wistfully. All while the hosts shared a knowing look.
As they left, Rojo came to.
Everyone was shocked and concerned when Rojo came to. "She recovered THAT FAST?! That shouldn't be possible! With Four Arms strength and how hard those robots are, she should've been out for HOURS! At the VERY least!" Midoriya exclaimed in shock.
"Couldn't be THAT hard if a little girl with a shovel could smash one." Kirishima reminded the greenette.
"Should've left HER trapped under some rubble." Bakugo huffed.
"Definitely should've restrained her somehow. Maybe bending the legs of the robot around her as makeshift bindings." Todoroki theorized.
"To be fair, he had other things to worry about at the moment." Midnight admitted.
She got up and looked at the crushed Mechadroids beside her. "Who were you freaks?" She questioned, picking up one of the heads out of their socket and holding it up to inspect it. Suddenly, it glowed red with life and plugged into her neck, force-transferring its innards into her.
Everyone was shocked at this. "Oh, my stars! What's happening to her?!" Aoyama exclaimed in horror.
"It's... injecting something into her!" Asui said, equally horrified. They didn't like her, as she was a villain, obviously, but they still didn't want her to die!
Her pant legs ripped apart, her biker jacket sleeves got shredded by arm spikes. Her eyes glowed the same robotic red and the veins on her arms and legs also gained a red glow.
Everyone was in disbelief at this. "What in the world? What did it do to her?" Koda asked, trembling in shock.
"It must've somehow TRANSFERRED its robotics into her. But how?!" Shoji asked, unable to believe what he was seeing.
"And why the hell would someone ADD that feature in a robot!?" Jiro asked, covering her mouth to avoid being sick.
Suddenly, the top card in Present Mic's deck glowed red. "Rojo! Originally a petty theft and gang leader, she was cyberized by the remains of one of the drones, giving her ALL the same abilities as the flying terrors!" The radio host teacher declared with a scowl.
"Wait, EVERYTHING the robots can do? Then that means..." Midoriya started in horror.
After a couple of seconds the robot stopped and fell to the ground, dead. Police cars immediately pulled up behind her and officers got out with guns. "Freeze!" One of the officers ordered.
"Get out of there, extras! You're gonna die!" Bakugo screamed at them.
"While the language isn't appreciated, I do have to agree with you. This is likely beyond anyone's ability without a Quirk." Iida agreed.
"Honestly, I'm surprised they're not blasting her already. I would've electrocuted her just out of panic." Kaminari admitted.
Rojo turned to them. Her skin was now red and there were robotic eye pieces on her shoulders and covering her face. The officers were understandably stunned at her strange, menacing appearance.
"Ha, I already did my time!" She declared, her shoulder eyes emerging and pointing at them. "It's time you guys pay!" She declared, her shoulder eyes firing lasers into the cars, blowing them up.
"Oh, great. Now she doesn't need A GUN to blast lasers. I thought she would've been dangerous enough with those claws." Uraraka groaned.
"Not to mention, it's safe to assume her skin has likely changed composition to something more metallic as well. Meaning she can likely take far more punishment than before." Present Mic added.
"And she could ALREADY tank two of those things being hurled into her by Four Arms. Now she might be able to take ACTUAL HITS from him." Hagakure said in concern.
(Maybe THAT'S not the way to go...) The more intellectual students [2], plus the teachers, pondered.
She walked past the flames and picked up her bag of money. "Hahahaaaa... this is gonna be a BLAST!" She laughed menacingly. (The audience felt a sense of dread from this, but said nothing.)
In a room for Max at the hospital, a doctor talked to Ben and Gwen. "Your grandfather has suffered a severe concussion, he'll be out for several more hours. He also has several lacerations and a broken leg." The medical man informed the two younger Tennysons.
The audience winced at the lists of Max's injuries. "Injuries are so much scarier in this world without Quirks to heal them." Mineta said, concerned for the old man.
"Even IN our world, not everyone has Recovery Girl. It's a good reminder you can't be too reliant on someone to make everything better for you, so you need to be careful to avoid getting hurt." Aizawa told them.
"He's... gonna be okay, right?" Ben asked.
"For a man his age, he's remarkably strong. He'll be fine after some rest..." The doctor assured them.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief at this. However... "So, what was that you said, All Might? About Max being older and more frail than a younger man?" Maverick teased the former Symbol of Peace.
All Might cleared his throat a bit at this to compose himself. "W-well, I'm happy to admit I was wrong." All Might admitted.
Before looking at clipboard. "Now, it says on his admittance form he was 'hit by a car bumper'. Did somebody back into him?" The medical man asked.
"Hit by a car bumper? A bunch of rubble fell on him!" Ashido exclaimed.
"Gwen likely gave them a false story to cover for them being in a crime scene, so they wouldn't have to give any police statements that could land them- mostly Ben- into trouble." Yaoyorozu explained.
"That's a good point. Besides acts of vigilantism, I have no doubt ANY world government would want to get their hands on technology as cutting edge as the Omnitrix. And they'd likely be willing to go to ANY LENGTHS to acquire it." Iida noted in concern.
"And yet, no one has pieced together that these three happen to show up on scenes where aliens are sighted. Surely, people must've seen him turn back from Heatblast when he stopped those robbers before he busted Animo." Kaminari pointed out.
"Don't question it." The hosts said together.
"Actually, the bumper flew through the air, after this robot drone blew up the car!" Ben explained awkwardly.
The doctor blinked at Ben blankly for a moment, before smiling. "...Vivid imaginations are good coping mechanisms in situations like these." The medical man assured him.
"Tch. Dumbass. What's the point of making a cover if you're not gonna use it?" Bakugo questioned... while also subtly throwing shade at Deku for revealing his secret of One For All to him back during the combat training. Even if he hadn't believed the boy at the time.
Midoriya chuckled nervously at this, perfectly aware Bakugo was dissing him. "L-Luckily it doesn't seem like the doctor believed him." The greenette said.
Ben smiled as the doctor cheerfully patted him on the shoulder, but dropped his smile when he turned back to see Max.
"Poor kid..." Sato said, he and many others feeling sympathy for Ben.
"He's probably blaming himself. If he hadn't hesitated to hit Rojo's crew, Max wouldn't have gotten hurt." Asui said with her usual bluntness.
"That's one more thing you kids are gonna have to get used to. You can do your best to save as many people as possible. But at the end of the day... you'll have to accept you can't save everybody." All Might told them sadly, thinking back to his master.
Back on the warlord's ship, a Bioid was checking the computers for the drones. "The drones were destroyed." The robot informed its master.
"Send out more!" The warlord demanded.
"We may not need to." The bioid said in surprise. "It seems the drones have somehow - merged. I'm receiving one combined signal and that signal is on the move." The robot informed its master again.
"So, they can monitor her every move? That's... TOTALLY creepy." Jiro said with a shiver.
"It makes sense. They can obviously monitor the robots, so if she has their machinery within her, they should have the same functions over her that they do over the robot." Todoroki theorized.
"If that's true, then... Do you think they have an off switch they could use for her?" Sero asked in concern. Many dreaded that idea, actually worried for the cyberized villain.
"Hmmm... Perhaps one head is better than two..." The warlord said ominously.
"Definitely don't like the sound of that." Kirishima said in concern.
"It indeed paints an ominous picture for the future. Both for Ben AND Rojo." Tokoyami agreed.
"Yeah. That 'off switch' idea might be a real possibility. To work for this creep or die." Dark Shadow added.
Rojo, with her newfound powers, was robbing a jewelry store, shooting a glass box showcasing rings with her laser, melting the glass and creating a hole.
She reached in and pulled out the rings, but as she held them high in her grip, she noticed gold shavings were slipping out. "What?!" She asked in shock and horror as she opened her hand to reveal that her claws and strength had crushed all the rings into dust. "No! You're worthless now!" She complained, throwing them away.
"No! Not the precious jewelry!" Yaoyorozu cried out in despair at the beautiful rings being broken.
"I think there's bigger things to worry about right now, Yaomomo." Jiro told her girlfriend.
"She already had the bag of money from the last robbery. Why did she need more money?" Ojiro asked.
"Because music lies, mon ami. The best things in life ARE NOT free." Aoyama told him.
"He has a point. I doubt she just wants to live in a humble little apartment. She probably wants a giant place with giant cars." Uraraka said, ever so SLIGHTLY projecting some of her secret dreams beyond giving her parents easy lives.
One lady, still in the store, was terrified. Rojo noticed her and started walking over to her in anger.
"Oh, come on! It's not her fault you're an idiot who doesn't know how to control your crazy robot strength!" Hagakure snapped at the cyberized villain.
"I don't think she cares. I think she's just mad and wants to take it out on someone." Koda said worriedly.
But before she could do anything, she was stopped by an ear-piercing tone, causing her to stumble back and fall to the ground in pain. "Listen to me, whoever you are..." The Warlord's voice broke through the tone.
The group sighed in relief at this. "Alright, squid face. Good timing on that one." Ashido said, she and a few others reluctantly thanking the tyrant of inadvertently saving the woman.
"Even a broken clock is right twice a day." Present Mic said
"Where are you...Who are you...and how did you get in my head?" Rojo questioned as she got up.
"NO QUESTIONS! You are here to serve me!" The squid-faced alien declared.
"Guess again. I work for me and only me!" Rojo insisted, before her pain started up again.
"Bold of her to talk that way to a guy who brought her down to her knees like that." Mineta said, before chuckling perversely to himself at the unintentional dirty joke he made.
"Bold, but not smart. Like someone else we know." Asui said, smacking the grape-headed boy with her tongue.
"Oh, come on! I didn't even mean it in a dirty way!" The diminutive boy complained.
"But then you DID when you laughed like that." The frog girl told him.
Suddenly, she was now sent floating down into a yellow and red vein-filled vision.
"How (the hell) did he do that?!" The group questioned all at once, although Bakugo added a bit extra to his question.
"You now possess power you could have never imagined, but unless you find a way to use it..." The Warlord began as his gigantic image appeared before her. "It will be worthless!" The extraterrestrial villain declared, leaving Rojo terrified. "Fulfill my demand and I will teach you. Fail me and I will turn you to DUST!" He delivered a chilling ultimatum.
"Looks like you were right with the 'off-switch' idea, Sero." Midoriya said.
"But now I wish I wasn't." Sero admitted, both concerned for Rojo and dreading the trouble this will bring Ben.
"Regardless, it makes sense. Rojo clearly has no respect for authority, so the only way to keep her in line and get her to do what he wants, as well as motivate her for success, is to put her life on the line. People are always most concerned about their own self-interest or wellbeing. Especially villains." Aizawa told them.
"...So what do you want?" Rojo asked.
"Only one thing. A piece of valuable technology, missing from my possession. And luckily, you are already programmed to find it!" The Warlord declared. Rojo held her head in pain once more, now back at the store. (There was a sense of dread in the room, but no words.)
In the hospital, Ben sat on a bench worriedly, until Gwen sat beside him. "Ben, you heard the doctor, he's going to be fine. He's Grandpa!" She said reassuringly.
"I'm worried about him." Ben admitted.
"It's natural to be worried, seeing a loved one in such a state." Yaoyorozu said.
"Especially things still being a little tense between them. They both said some things they probably regret. Yeah, things have gotten better since then, but it's still probably fresh for both of them. No doubt they'd be regretting those words if anything happened to either of them." Todoroki said. He and his father were still very far apart, but he was still trying to learn from his father to improve his fire Quirk and, while he hated to admit it, he WAS bonding with his father ever so slightly. He now wondered if he would regret all the things he said about his father if anything happened to him. And he KNEW that if anything happened to his mother, he'd never forgive himself for not visiting her for years, even if SHE had forgiven him.
"I'd worry more how some girl kicked Four Arms' butt!" She teased.
"Hey, 'heroes don't hit girls'." He told her.
"Bullshit! The hammer of justice is unisex!" Bakugo snapped.
"We've already said it, but it bears repeating. Hesitating or holding back against ANY villain is a recipe for disaster. Giving them any opening is a chance for them to cause damage or death. That mindset he's got is definitely one he's gonna have to get OUT of in the future. Sooner rather than later." Midnight agreed.
"Good to know!" She declared, before punching him in the shoulder.
"Gwen!" Most of the group scolded her.
"What was that for? He didn't even do anything to you this time!" Jiro said. [3]
"Now's definitely not the time to be fighting. They should be there for each other to lean on. They're family." Asui added.
Thankfully, she swiftly received Karma as he punched right back. "OW! I thought you said..." She began.
"I'm not in hero mode." He explained simply.
"Honestly? Deserved." Uraraka said.
"Still, like dear Tsu said, now definitely isn't the time for fighting. They should think about what their grandfather would want. I doubt he'd want them to be fighting." Aoyama said.
Gwen wound up to punch him again, but stopped when she saw how downtrodden her cousin was. Ben then got up and walked out of the room, into the hospital hallway.
Gwen followed him out into the hallway. "You okay? Normally slugging me in the arm would make you feel much better." She pointed out.
"It's hard to feel good when someone you care about is in a position like that." Iida admitted, fighting back a few tears after he remembered seeing his brother in the hospital.
"Yeah. It's gotta be one of the scariest things in the world. And there's no feeling better until they're awake and feeling better." Mineta said, also remembering how horrified and worried most of the class was when Midoriya needed surgery after his fight with Todoroki in the Sports Festival.
"And even the IDEA of losing someone leaves you absolutely lost. And if it actually DOES happen, that feeling never truly goes away." Present Mic said sadly, remembering Shirakumo.
"...You know, maybe if I went Upgrade, I could get in those machines he's hooked up to and see if I can make him better!" Ben theorized as he reached for the dial.
"Ben, that won't work." She told him.
"How do you know if he doesn't try? That could be like a miracle cure!" Kaminari said.
"But it could also pump him with too much meds or something that SERIOUSLY messes him up! Cooking is an art! Medicine? That stuff needs serious measurements and research, you don't mess with it unless you know what you're doing!" Sato exclaimed.
"Okay, then, what if I went Ghostfreak? I could meld with him or something! I-I don't know, I just...wanna help him, you know?" He explained as he turned on the Omnitrix.
"It's admirable he wants to do whatever he can for his ancestor, but sometimes it's important to know when to step back when there's nothing you can do so you don't cause more problems." Tokoyami stated.
"In other words, quit while you're ahead." Dark Shadow simplified.
"Not to mention, I think YOU ALL are forgetting that Rojo will know where he is as soon as he transforms." All Might reminded them.
"Yeah, about that..." Maverick said.
Instantly, across the city, Rojo heard its activation echoing in her head and zoomed in on it with her eyes, spotting it through the hospital windows. "There you are." The mechanized punk declared.
"He doesn't even need to TRANSFORM for her to know where he is!? No fair!" Hagakure complained.
"What did I tell you all on your first day. Somethings in life aren't fair. With villains being at the top of that list." Aizawa told her seriously, part to hammer the lesson home and part to hide their concern for the kids. Even if they were upset with Ben, they didn't want anything to happen to the boy.
Ben looked at Max in bed from the doorway. He walked over to a garbage can and kicked it out of a sudden frustration.
"Just relax, everything's gonna be okay." Gwen told him. But suddenly, there was a noise, almost like a jet, getting louder and louder.
"Oh, man! You never say that! It's like saying 'things can't get worse'!" Sero exclaimed.
"Not to mention, that's just a bad thing to promise. Anything could happen in a situation like this." Shoji added.
"Yeah, aren't you not supposed to fall asleep when you've got a concussion?" Ashido asked.
"That's actually a myth, Ashido. Sleep is actually an important part of recovering from a concussion. Still, Shoji's not wrong. Max could have a reaction to the medicine or something. They didn't have his medical information on hand and I doubt the kids just KNOW it. Maybe Gwen, but that's still a stretch." Midoriya explained.
Gwen let out gasp just before Rojo came crashing through the hospital window and advanced on the kids. "Give me the Omnitrix!" She ordered.
"You want it? Come and get it!" Ben challenged, before he and Gwen sprinted away.
"Why the hell aren't you transforming now, Watch Boy?!" Bakugo demanded.
"They're probably trying to lead her out of the hospital and away from civilians." Koda said.
"The problem with that is, they're on at least the third floor of the hospital. So they have a ways to run before getting out of the building. And if she's as trigger-happy as a cyborg as she was as a human, she'll be blasting the entire time." Aizawa noted.
Rojo was quick to chase after them, blasting at them with her lasers. Down one hallway, the two ran past a pair of nurses, Rojo blasting at them and hitting the cart next one of the nurses, narrowly avoiding her and causing her to fall back into the other nurse. "Look out!" The second nurse warned.
"And there it is." The narcoleptic teacher sighed.
"Make a note students. As a hero, it's important to weigh the options and find the solution that causes the least collateral damage. In this case, with Rojo constantly firing lasers, it would've been a better idea for Ben to transform and try to knock her out through the window. That would certainly be easier to replace than entire walls and it would've eliminated the risk to civilians." Midnight informed the students.
"Of course, sensei! We shall do our best to burn this information into our minds!" Iida declared.
"Fascinating. We've never gone over situations like this before, where villains suddenly break into a civilian building and causing havoc. Usually, we focus on them being outside, causing mayhem in the streets, or them being holed up in their their base, away from civilians. This opens up a whole new plethora of scenarios we hadn't prepared for." Yaoyorozu realized.
"Definitely feels like a BIG base we didn't cover." Jiro agreed.
The kids turned a corner and continued, but Ben stopped to read a door sign. "'Stairs'!" He pointed out, Gwen pedalling back and the two running down a staircase, spiraling down to the bottom floor.
"Ben, that thing's the girl from the armored car robbery! It's like she merged with those-" Gwen began to point out.
"-Robot drones!" Ben finished for her.
"Kinda nice when they're on the same page." Ojiro admitted.
"Definitely better than them bickering all the time." Shoji agreed.
Suddenly, hey heard the door they went through exploding. Rojo entered the top of the stairwell and looked to the bottom floor, leaping all the way down, just as Ben and Gwen emptied out of the bottom floors' door.
Many were shocked and concerned when she reached the bottom of the stairwell in an instant, eliminating the lead the children had. "Oh, right... Suped up cyborg." Kaminari chuckled nervously with dread in his voice.
"She's like the freaking terminator! Ben better break out Four Arms quick!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"Or maybe Greymatter to disrupt her electronics." Jiro theorized.
"No way! XLR8! He can go super fast and smash up her weapons before she can cause any more damage!" Ashido gave her guess.
"Or perhaps Ripjaws. He can bite and claw through steel, after all." Aoyama chimed in as well.
"Aoyama, Ripjaws can't survive without water." Midoriya said, causing the French boy to freeze in shock as he forgot that TINY detail.
Rojo fired her lasers again, destroying the walls on the sides of the doorway, causing Gwen to flinch at the close proximity of the blast to her.
"WAY too close..." They all said. Even the hosts.
"Okay, radical thought, but right now might be a good time to go hero!?" Gwen asked in slight panic as she caught up with her cousin.
"THANK YOU!" Bakugo shouted.
"Now is the best time, they're away from civilians. Someone has to take her down." Uraraka agreed.
"Too bad the Omnitrix makes a giant, green flash every time Ben transforms. It would be the perfect time for a sneak attack!" Hagakure said.
They exited out into the hospital parking lot, where they hid in between two ambulances. Rojo exited the building and walked slowly to the middle of the lot, peering all around her, but finding no trace of the children.
"We can do this the easy way, or the hard way." She declared.
She noticed the cliffside right next to the hospital and started firing at the peak, sending chunks of rock tumbling down towards the hospital. Ben gasped at this and Rojo backed away, smiling.
"Oh, no!" The students all cried as they saw the debris heading for the hospital.
"She's crazy! She put the whole hospital in danger! And she didn't even know if the kids were still even around!" Iida exclaimed.
"We already saw she's perfectly willing to harm civilians for little to no reason. And now, she doesn't think she has a limit on ammo." Todoroki said darkly.
"Time to go Four Arms!" Ben declared.
"Not sure that's the best option. Sure, he could smash or catch the boulders, but is he FAST enough to stop ALL of them before they hit the hospital?" Midoriya pondered.
"Think XLR8 would've been the better option?" Asui asked her boyfriend.
"He's fast enough. And we've seen he can hurt the Kraken, who could withstand laser fire, but that still doesn't answer if he's strong enough to shatter boulders. Still, he could maybe make a tornado to stop them." Midoriya theorized, nodding that the speedster alien likely would've been his pick.
"I don't like saying it... but I would've went with Stinkfly. His... mucus would likely be sufficient to stick the boulders in place. And he can fire it quite rapidly, so he'd probably be able to stop them all in time." Yaoyorozu gave her answer.
The boy activated the Omnitrix and transformed... into Heatblast.
Many of the students were rather blank faced at this, while others (along with the teachers) groaned at this. "Oh... I guess it doesn't matter now." Yaoyorozu said.
"At least fire face can blast those rocks to hell. We've seen his fireballs explode." Bakugo said with a smirk.
"h great, I need muscle and I get an alien candle instead." The Pyronite complained.
The rocks began to get closer. "If 'scissors cuts paper', fire melts rock, right?!" Heatblast asked Gwen, who shrugged.
"What?! Even I know that's stupid! Hasn't the kid played Pokemon!? Everyone knows Fire isn't very effective against rock!" Kaminari said.
"I'm wondering how exactly he got THAT from 'rock, paper, scissors'?" Ashido wondered.
"Actually, that isn't such a terrible idea. Contrary to popular belief, fire CAN be effective against rock. Even lava and magma IS just superheated rock. Most rocks have a high melting point, but they DO still have one. It's just a matter of if Heatblast is capable of achieving such heats." Iida explained, not noticing the hosts' knowing smirks. "In addition, there's the chance that there is liquid trapped within these boulders, which will evaporate from the the heat and expand, which can create enough pressure to shatter the rock. Not to mention, even without the water, the heat can cause the rock to expand on its own and, depending on the mineral composition, it can expand unevenly, leading to cracks and other such breakage. And even further, if the rock had any pre-existing cracks or internal stresses- which is highly likely, considering the violent manner in which it was dislodged, the rock could break apart when exposed to great heat as well." The class rep finished his full verbal analyzation essay of why the plan could work.
"Well done, Young Iida. Clearly, Young Midoriya isn't the only one who can deeply analyze such things." All Might praised the class rep.
"Yeah... Great job, Iida..." Midoriya congratulated his friend, despite poorly hiding a pout at his idol praising the engine-legged boy and not him.
Heatblast shot a continuous stream of plasma at the rocks. At first, nothing seemed to happen, but slowly, the rocks began to crack and split apart into much smaller rocks. And even after this, the Pyronite kept the flames going, the rocks slowly becoming molten and melting down into a small stream of lava. Heatblast then ceased the flames, the molten rock quickly cooling without the constant heat being applied, soon salifying into semi-solid rock once again near the base of the cliff, just before reaching the hospital's parking lot.
The students all cheered at the Pyronite's triumph. "Alright, Heatblast!" Uraraka cheered.
"You certainly have some competition, mon ami." Aoyama told Todoroki teasingly.
Todoroki didn't recognize the teasing, however, clenching his fist in determination. "I'm perfectly aware I'll never truly be able to compete with Heatblast's control of fire. But I will strive to improve myself to match the temperatures he can create. I'll go beyond. Plus Ultra." He said adamantly.
"Plus Ultra!" The students all cheered.
Well, all but one students... "Fire was Super Effective... Everything I know is wrong..." Kaminari said, struggling to process what Pokemon had taught him was a lie.
Meanwhile, the teachers couldn't help but marvel at the transformed boy's solution to the problem. "Gotta say, for a kid that hates any kind of brainy stuff, that was pretty smart move of him." Present Mic admitted.
"And again, he's showing his adaptability by switching up his strategy to compensate for not getting the alien with the powers he wanted." Midnight praised the Omnitrix-wielder. "I know we still haven't forgiven him for what he did last time, but you have to admit, he uses that watch pretty well." She admitted.
"Heh. Nothing to it!" Heatblast said confidently, hands on his hips.
Gwen gave a small smile to her transformed cousin, before looking in horror at something past him. "Look out!" She exclaimed, running to safety herself.
The cause of her concern was revealed to be Rojo, as she leapt into the air and fired a barrage of laser blasts down on the whole area along with him, pulverizing the ambulances in the process as well.
"Oh, crap! We totally forgot about her in the moment." Sato said worriedly.
"She's got the advantage in the air. Up there, she's out of his reach. Sure, Heatblast can shoot fire at her, but she's probably fast enough to dodge it. And, she has way more weapons than he does and can shoot more than he can. He can maybe shoot two fireballs at once with both hands, but she can shoot two lasers, or a bunch of missiles." Ojiro noted.
"Come on, match stick! Heroes don't lose!" Bakugo shouted.
Heatblast was put on the ground from this attack, but slowly started to get up, before Rojo flew in, grabbing him by the throat and slamming his head back down onto the pavement, flying forward and dragging him across the ground. She then raised her clawed hand, preparing to finish the Pyronite.
"NO!" The entire audience shouted at once, even the teachers. They may be at odds with the boy for what he did, but they still didn't want anything to happen to him. Plus, he's the only one who can stop the crazed cyborg.
But before she could, he unleashed a burst of flame that briefly blinded her, allowing him to get up and stun her with a couple punches, then a kick that sent her flying back into one of the destroyed ambulances. She held her head and shook it to recover, taking a step forward in preparation to attack again, but noticed she stepped in something wet and looked down. Heatblast looked down as well to see there was a large pool of oil from the totaled vehicles, reaching all the way to him.
"A bright light for a distraction to stun her, allowing him to capitalize on the opening. Wise indeed." Tokoyami praised.
"Yep. Definitely would've worked on us." Dark Shadow agreed nervously, shrinking behind Tokoyami's seat to hide from the light.
"Another option I'll have to consider in the future..." Todoroki pondered.
Then, they all saw the oil and had the same idea as Heatblast. "Oh, this is gonna be good." Shoji declared.
He then looked up and smirked at her, snapping his fingers and creating a spark that lit up the oil, sending Rojo flying far away. "See ya!" He declared.
"Heck yeah, Heatblast! Way to save the day AND turn things around! So manly!" Kirishima cheered.
"Too bad the ambulances got wrecked, but at least that wasn't Ben's fault." Koda said.
"You think she survived that?" Uraraka asked, a bit concerned.
"She was in one piece. That's a good sign." Jiro noted.
"But if she is, then Ben allowed her to roam free AGAIN. That's twice now he's failed to ensure that a serious threat can be restrained and arrested." Aizawa criticized.
"Dammit. We ALMOST made it five minutes without Aizawa bitching." Maverick complained, holding a pocket watch.
"To be fair, that was a valid point." Anemone admitted.
Back in Max's room, the cousins were retelling the tale for their grandfather. "When I was playing with the watch, I must have led her right to you!" Ben explained guiltily.
"Since they moved me into a new room and you haven't gone alien since then, we're safe." Max assured his grandson.
"But you're still IN the hospital. If she's smart, she'll assume they were there for a reason. A reason that will most likely KEEP them there for the foreseeable future. Meaning, she should know to come back to the hospital. From there, it's simply a matter of searching for them. And who knows how much damage she'll do in the meantime." Iida said in concern.
"Still, it's nice that he's trying to make Ben feel better." Uraraka noted with a smile.
"Yeah, just for this second! But what about tomorrow? It's getting way too dangerous for you guys to be around me." Ben said worriedly. "If I didn't have this watch, none of this weird stuff would be happening!" He snapped at the watch in annoyance.
"Maybe, but then that villain would probably have the watch now, since no one else would've found it before his drones. And, you wouldn't have been able to save that mother and her son. Or stop the thieves, or Animo and save Dr. Kelly, or stop Jonah and save the Krakken's babies- plus who knows HOW MANY other animals he would've gone after. And you saved an entire town of retirees." Midoriya listed off the boy's achievements, despite knowing Ben couldn't hear him.
"Man, poor kid. He shouldn't be going through this kind of turmoil." Jiro said sadly.
"Indeed. We all know and accept being a hero will come with sacrifices, but we're all AT LEAST half a decade older than Ben. We've had more time for our minds to develop and process these decisions and choices. And we can understand the consequences that come with them. These situations are entirely more complex than anything Ben should be having to deal with at his age." Yaoyorozu agreed, feeling sympathetic for the boy.
"Oh, Ben understands these situations much better than you're giving him credit for." Anemone told her. "Still, that doesn't mean it's not hard for him to go through. Or that it doesn't hurt to watch him grapple with these feelings." She said sadly.
"Yeah, but since it won't come off, there's nothing we can do about it." Gwen pointed out, trying to be encouraging to her cousin.
"Maybe. Maybe not." Ben said under his breath.
Many felt a sense of dread at this. "What is he planning? To get rid of the watch somehow?" Hagakure asked fearfully.
"But he'd have to cut his hand off in order to do that!" Ashido exclaimed worriedly.
"Or he's planning to get the watch away from his family..." Bakugo began.
"By getting away from them himself." Todoroki finished his rival's thoughts.
Over in the city street, Rojo got up out of a crashed car and terrified onlooking civilians. Thankfully, before she could hurt anyone, her head started hurting again and she was back in the vision.
"Jeez, she's just a crashout! She wants to attack you just for EXISTING!" Kaminari exclaimed.
"Ben's gotta take that bitch down!" Mineta exclaimed, before looking at the side eye he got from his female classmates. "Oh, come on! You KNOW I didn't mean it like that! She's a grown woman, he's a kid! Even I have lines I won't cross!" The tiny pervert said indignantly.
"But he'll tell a toddler he wants to see what she looks like in ten years..." Maverick whispered to Anemone.
"The Omnitrix, where is it?" The warlord demanded.
"I couldn't get it. And how nice, you didn't tell me I'd be fighting a superhero! I am through!" Rojo snapped back.
"So, he has some kind of connection with her through the robot. Shouldn't he see and know everything she does?" Sato asked.
"It's probably through some programming in her mind, rather than some actual deep psychic link like you're suggesting." Shoji theorized.
"Still, she's pretty bold to be telling off that guy when he LITERALLY has control of her." Kirishima admitted.
"Bold... or stupid." Dark Shadow said.
"Indeed. I personally lean towards the latter." Tokoyami agreed with his Quirk.
The gigantic villain ate her and sent her tumbling down a dark red pit. "You get me the Omnitrix! And if you fail again, your meaningless criminal life will be over! Now this time, make him come to you!" He ordered.
"WHAT THE HELL!?" All the students exclaimed when Vilgax ate her in the vision.
"Jeez, I think I would've PREFERRED if he pushed some kind of off switch to make her go limp or something! That was horrifying!" Ojiro said in horror.
"And another way he can make her submit. Tormenting her MENTALLY as well as physically." Midnight said, not liking what the warlord was putting the punk girl through.
"Hell of a way to get her motivated, though." Present Mic admitted.
"She's going to attack civilians to draw him out!" Koda said worriedly.
"Like she wasn't doing that enough already." Jiro huffed, angry at the biker chick for giving punks a bad name.
In the hospital, as Gwen and Max were sleeping, Ben left a folded note on Max's bed.
"I'm doing this for you, Grandpa." Ben told his beloved grandfather, before running out of the hospital.
"He really is running away." Koda said in horror.
"No, Ben. Don't do it! I don't want to see you all alone! No one your age should be all of their own!" Asui cried out in despair.
"He's getting his family away from the danger, even if it means he'll suffer for it. An act of self-sacrifice. Completely selfless. I once even said such a thing was the very essence of being a hero." All Might said, shocked that a boy he'd written off as selfish and would never be a hero doing the most noble thing he could think of.
However, a certain narcoleptic just HAD to ruin the parade... "It may be selfless, but it's also incredibly short-sighted. Ben is a child. He has no way to provide for himself. So when he has basic needs, he'll have to resort to stealing in order to get what he needs to survive. Just like Kevin did. And he'll be abusing his powers all over again. He's not a hero for doing this. Because in doing this, he'll become a villain." Aizawa criticized.
Meanwhile, Maverick drew and aimed his bazooka at Class 1-A's teacher again, before the weapon was snatched by Anemone. "Will you stop that!?" The serpent woman snapped.
As the day ended, Ben now sat by his lonesome on a bench in a park. (They were sad and sympathetic at seeing the boy all alone, but said nothing.)
Another young boy tossed a football to his own grandpa in the park and hugged him. "I'm glad we can spend the summer together, Grandpa!" The boy exclaimed.
"Oh, come on! Stop gut punching us!" Hagakure cried.
"He's doing the right thing, but it's like the universe is punishing him for it." Aoyama said, struggling to hold back tears.
"I just want to hug him and tell him everything's gonna be okay!" Ashido openly cried, hugging Kirishima, who held his girlfriend close.
Ben watched them, but soon overheard a broadcast from a radio on a bench next to his.
"Reports say the armored assailant has incredible firepower and has blown up several police barricades before arriving at the Police Academy Training Center, just outside of Albuquerque." The radio host announced.
Ben stood up.
"He's still going." Asui said, starting to admire the boy's resolve once again.
"Even after he's lost everything. He still stands up for what's right. Even with nothing left, he still wants to be a hero." Midoriya said, feeling inspired by the boy's tenacity and how he strove to do what's right. He really had the heart of a hero.
"His grandfather really did put him on the path of greatness. Even after he had to leave him behind, his influence still makes him want to do the right thing." Uraraka said in amazement.
They hadn't forgiven him yet, but many of them, even some with a more black-and-white view, were starting to be won over by the boy once again.
One night had settled at the hospital, Gwen slowly woke up, not seeing her cousin. "Ben? Ben?" She called out, looking around. But then, she spotted Ben's note and opened it. "'Dear Grandpa and Gwen, I care about you both too much to keep putting you in danger. - It's better this way. Love, Ben.'" She read the note.
"At least he let them know he cares. About Both of them." Hagakure said.
"Yeah. That includes Gwen. Really shows that they're family at the end of the day. No matter how much they argue, they're there for each other... So manly." Kirishima sniffed, wiping away a tear.
Max woke up at the sound of her voice. "Gwen? What is it?" He asked his granddaughter tiredly.
Suddenly, they overheard the TV, Gwen grabbing the remote and turning up the volume. "-The siege at the Police Training Center continues... Early reports say several officers have been injured." The reporter announced.
"Ben's gone, but I think I know where he went. I gotta go, Grandpa." Gwen told the eldest Tennyson.
"Dumbass, you don't have any powers! You're just gonna get in the way!" Bakugo snapped.
"I agree with the words, not the tone. They're civilians. And Gwen is a child. They shouldn't be just running into danger like this." Aizawa said.
"I'm coming, too." Max said, although he sounded very labored.
"You can't go anywhere!" Gwen warned him.
"You can't go alone, it's too dangerous." Max told her.
"And you are injured! With a broken leg! I'd argue you'd be in even worse shape to go than Gwen! You should listen to your doctor's instructions and get some rest!" Iida said, chopping as always.
"I mean, what? Are you really gonna ask the guy not to go after his missing grandson and let his granddaughter go alone into a dangerous situation?" Sero questioned.
Iida "hmmed" at this. "Truly a conundrum indeed." The class rep admitted.
Gwen gave up on talking Max out of it. So, instead, she used his hospital bed remote to recline his bed flat.
"I can't get up now!" Max exclaimed.
"That's the point." Gwen explained, before running off.
Bakugo chuckled at this. "Nice move, squirt." He complimented.
"Clever, but I still wish this didn't mean she'd be going in alone." Yaoyorozu said.
"Still, she's the best chance they have to bring Ben back.
"Gwen, get back here... Gwen!" Max called for her.
In the parking lot, one paramedic ran to another standing by at an ambulance. "They need us down at the Police Academy!" The second paramedic instructed. They quickly started driving, not knowing Gwen had hitched a ride in the back.
"I know they're in a hurry, but how did they not notice A CHILD sneaking into their ambulance?!" Yaoyorozu asked incredulously.
"Yeah, that's a pretty big screw up." Jiro agreed with her girlfriend.
"But hopefully she'll be able to talk some sense into Ben now." Midnight said. "And, hopefully, Ben will be able to keep HER out of harm's way." She added.
At the police academy, Rojo was tossing cars left and right and shooting streams of laser into the side of the building.
"Why am I not surprised she chose to attack the police?" Present Mic asked.
"Certainly makes sense. Criminals often have grudges with the law, for obvious reasons." All Might said. "But now, let's hope Young Ben will be able save them." He said in concern.
"What alien do we think he's gonna use this time? My bet is Four Arms again." Kaminari said.
"Kinda doubt it. He never seems to show off the same alien twice in one adventure. Almost like there's a rule where one alien CAN'T get too much screen time." Asui disagreed.
"Ben was pretty far away when he heard about her attack. So he probably needed XLR8 or Stinkfly to get here quickly." Koda theorized.
"Tch. It's gotta be the dinosaur. What's the stinkbug gonna do here?" Bakugo scoffed.
Maverick pulled out a pair of reading glasses and a copy of Mic's announcement cards. "Let's see here... Yep, says right there 'the tail stinger can tear through metal'..." He read.
"We even SAW him do that in 'Tourist Trap'." Anemone pointed out.
Suddenly, a blue blur smacked into her twice, bringing her to her knees, before XLR8 skidded in front of her. "Looks like you got this party started without me!" The speedster alien declared.
"Hey, looks like you were right, Bakubro!" Kirishima congratulated his friend. "But you could've been a little nicer about it." He added.
"Man, XLR8 looks cool with his visor down!" Sero exclaimed.
"An excellent line, too. Witty banter is the second greatest mark of a hero, right behind panache." Aoyama declared.
"What about saving people?" Todoroki asked.
"Number three." The French boy answered.
Rojo quickly grabbed XLR8's leg, throwing him to the ground and kicking him into a police car (Aizawa threw in a quick "See?"). He got to his knees and shook his head, looking at the criminal cyborg as she approached. "He wants his 'Omnitrix', he can have it!" She declared, her shoulder eyes aiming at XLR8. "This is gettin' fun." She declared.
"Who's 'he'?" The Kineceleran questioned, raising his visor for the question, before quickly dodging Rojo's lasers and kicking her in the chest repeatedly. "'One good kick deserves another'!" He declared, delivering one more powerful kick that knocked her back, while he did a backflip and stuck the landing.
"So, now he knows it's a guy's after him, at least." Mineta said.
"Shouldn't he have already known that? Should've known SOMEONE is after the watch, sending those robots." Dark Shadow pointed out.
"Indeed. As well as those bounty hunters. Although, speaking of them, Tetrax COULD have mentioned exactly WHO was after him, in this great battle of good and evil he spoke of." Tokoyami added.
"A name would definitely be appreciated. We can't keep calling his 'Squid Face'." Uraraka said. Bakugo then opened his mouth. "And DEFINITELY NOT 'Hentai Face'." She added.
But then, XLR8 evaded the attack and landed countless kicks into her chest. "Excellent use of kicks, XLR8! Truly, your feet are a force to be reckoned with!" Iida praised.
"Nice backflip, too." Jiro added.
"I'm surprised she's still standing after that." Sato said.
"She was already pretty tough to tank those robots getting thrown into her, but the robots probably made her way stronger." Shoji theorized.
"Then let's hope he can come up with something fast. No pun intended!" Present Mic said, laughing at the end as he realized what he said, making the others groan.
She got up to face him again, when a rumbling sound drew both their attention away. An armoured tank rolled up in front of them and adjusted its barrel, aimed straight at them!
"Whoa! They're breaking out the big guns now!" Hagakure exclaimed.
"Makes sense. She just obliterated the police, so they have to go bigger for something like that. The military is the obvious next step in a world without heroes." Ojiro reasoned.
"But why are they aiming at BOTH of them!? They should only be aiming at Rojo!" Midoriya exclaimed.
"XLR8 is an unknown creature. WE know he's not a hostile, but THEY have no way of knowing that. All they know is that he attacked her. That doesn't guarantee he's on their side, though. In a situation like this, you don't have time to hesitate and question who is or isn't a threat. You have to act. Not to mention, XLR8 is technically a vigilante in this case, so he is violating the law and disturbing the peace in fighting her. I may not agree, but it's understandable. This is another reason you all get licenses and get your faces out there, so the public, police and other heroes know you are on their side." Aizawa explained.
XLR8 quickly sprinted away from the tank's range. Rojo looked at him, then back at the tank. The tank fired and hit Rojo dead on. XLR8 watched the pillar of smoke. Through it, the tank rolled up to him and stopped.
"Think they got her?" Ashido asked.
"Doubtful. It seems too easy. And we saw her survive that Ambulance explosion without a scratch, so this can't be much more effective." Yaoyorozu broke it down.
"I think the bigger problem is they're about to blast XLR8." Midnight said in concern.
Suddenly Rojo, without a scratch on her, picked up the tank from underneath. "Nice try, but Speedy's all mine!" She declared.
"Dang it, Yaomomo, why do you always have to be right!?" Jiro complained, although it was half-playfully.
"I... I'm sorry?" Yaoyorozu asked uncertainly, missing the playful note.
The tank's drivers leapt out before Rojo threw the entire tank at XLR8, exploding in flames.
"Do you think she got him?" Asui asked in concern.
"Tch. Doubt it. His whole thing is speed. The only way that got him was if he stood still like a dumbass." Bakugo dismissed.
She smiled, but XLR8 was already standing behind her. (They breathed a sigh of relief at this, but said nothing.)
She tried to attack him and missed, he zips behind her again and punched her in the face many times, the last one being an uppercut that sent Rojo flying and landing in the street.
"Heck yeah, XLR8! Make her head pop up like rock 'em, sock 'em robots!" Kirishima cheered.
"I think that'd probably kill her." Mineta told him.
However, she quickly recovered and got back to her feet, blasting XLR8 with her laser, sending him skidding down the road.
"Ooh!" They all exclaimed sympathetically, wincing in pain as they imagined how that must have felt.
"She barely even felt that. She really might be unstoppable!" Kaminari cried out.
"How is she so much better than the robots!? Gwen could smash one with a shovel!" Sero cried out.
"They were also small and fragile. Rojo clearly isn't either of those things. That and likely being made of some kind of metal makes her much more resilient. You could almost think of her like Tetsutetsu." Aizawa told them.
Gwen's ambulance finally arrived on the scene and the paramedics emerged as XLR8 and Rojo were still fighting. "Who needs help?" The first paramedic asked, right as XLR8 came flying and crashing down to the ground, Rojo crashing down on top of him. (They flinched at this, but said nothing.)
When the dust of their fighting cleared Rojo held XLR8 in her claws. However, she dropped him on the ground, walking towards the paramedics. They were understandably fearful at this and ran as she powered up a laser blast.
"Jeez, what is her problem with civilians!?" Present Mic asked.
"She completely disregarded her target, despite having him dead to rights, just to attack helpless paramedics. She may genuinely be a psychopath: she CLEARLY has a lack of empathy or remorse and a disregard for others. A grandiose sense of self, believing she can do whatever she wants and get away with it, despite knowing she's on a leash. She's impulsive and has no long-term goals, just wanting money and to step on anyone she can, even if they're not in her way and she's irresponsible and reckless. Back at the hospital, those boulders just as easily could've rolled into her and now she just let XLR8 go despite the fact he's still conscious, so he could still be a threat." All Might analyzed.
"That is both an advantage and disadvantage. Advantage in the fact she's easily distracted and can leave herself open. Disadvantage in the fact she's unpredictable." Iida noted.
"In other words, bitch is crazy and needs to go down." Bakugo growled.
Just then, Gwen opened up the back door of the ambulance and peeked out.
XLR8 recovered and got up, seeing her. "Gwen!" He exclaimed worriedly and quickly rushed past Rojo, picking Gwen up and running all the way down the street and into a corner alley. (A few sighs of relief and some murmurs of "way too close", but nothing else.)
"What are you doing here?!" The Kineceleran demanded.
"'It's better this way!' Sound familiar?" The female Tennyson threw Ben's words back in his face.
Suddenly, the DREADED sound of the Omnitrix timing out was heard. "So does that beeping!" The alien speedster exclaimed, before turning back into Ben.
"I HATE THAT SOUND!" The entire audience exclaimed in exasperation.
"Ah, just great!" Ben complained, before they heard a nearby explosion. "Come on!" He told her.
With that, the two quickly fled down the alley, just as Rojo caught up to them and started shooting.
"Oh, come on! How did she even find them!?" Hagakure complained.
"The robot had enhanced sensors, remember? We already saw she could track the watch when Ben turned it on, from probably A MILE away." Sato reminded her in concern.
As she passed by a large plaque of the town map on the ground, the kids peeked out from having hid behind it, waiting for her to fly out of earshot. "Ben, you can't run away from us!" Gwen told him.
"Don't tell me what I can or can't do! This is MY fight, MY weird watch, not yours!" He snapped back at her.
"Yeah, but...you're my weird cousin." She said softly, in one of her rare caring moments.
"Aww... That was... KIND OF sweet." Ashido said, although was slightly uncertain.
"It's great to see a family stick together like this." Asui agreed.
However, they were startled by Rojo shooting something nearby.
Gwen ran from cover to the doorway of a nearby building. "In here!" She called to him quietly. And Ben was quick to follow. They entered a large empty gym, treadmills and pull-down machines all lined up.
As they ran, Gwen's phone started ringing and they stopped to answer it. "Hello?" She answered, before handing the phone to Ben "It's for you." She told him.
"Hello? ...Grandpa, can we talk later? I've got an indestructible robot-thing none of my aliens can take out!" Ben explained the situation.
"How do you know that? You've only tried two. And they aren't even your heavy hitters." Shoji questioned.
"I'd say Heatblast IS a pretty heavy hitter, but even then, it's not like he hit her with everything he's got." Todoroki said.
"Either way, in Ben's mind, that probably registered as Heatblast just not working." Tokoyami theorized. [4]
"Ben, if you can't destroy it from the outside, take it down from the inside." Max advised his grandson.
"So, what does that mean? Go Greymatter and go up her butt or something and take apart her machinery?" Mineta asked.
"Eww!" All the girls, including Anemone, exclaimed in disgust.
"Or how about those shoulder eyes that pop out or something, sicko." Jiro said, jabbing the tiny boy with her earphone jacks.
"That's... still better than where I THOUGHT he was gonna say to go up." Kaminari said, which got him jabbed by the jacks as well.
"I... still thinks it's something else. But I don't want to spoil it." Midoriya said awkwardly.
"That's it! Thanks!" Ben said as he hung up.
"Guess you're not better off without Grandpa either, huh?" Gwen questioned with a smirk.
"Yeah. Gramps is the man with the plan!" Sato cheered.
"Now let's hope they can FINALLY figure out a way to bring her down." Uraraka said.
"Let that be a lesson, students. Even if you think you need to do something on your own, EVERYONE needs people they can rely on to help them out from time to time. No one is an island that can do everything on their own." Anemone said, looking over the students... Although Midoriya SWORE she stopped and stared at HIM SPECIFICALLY at the end.
Ben turned on the Omnitrix, the sound alerting Rojo. She flew over to the gym and started blasting through the roof, before Ben could even transform.
Ben and Gwen hid behind a column, as Ben carefully selected Upgrade and transformed.
"Yes! I knew it!" Yaoyorozu cheered in victory.
"Oh, right! Upgrade can merge and change technology! So, maybe he can short-circuit her, or find some way to power her down!" Asui theorized.
"Or maybe even somehow separate her from the robot altogether." Present Mic added with a nod, the teachers having figured it out from the beginning along with the top 5 students.
Rojo landed into the gym and walked around, searching. She walked right underneath Upgrade, who was on the ceiling. He dropped down on her and melded with her technological body as she struggled to rip him off her.
"There you go! Get all over her and rip that shit off her!" Bakugo cheered.
"Careful, Kacchan. You're almost starting to sound like Mineta." Uraraka teased, ignoring the grape-headed boy's cry of indignance.
Suddenly, electricity shoots out of their head. Now, Upgrade found himself in Rojo's vision world, floating before the giant warlord.
"Oh, god! That's still so creepy!" Ashido shrieked.
"So... Now Young Ben finally sees the face of the one who is after him." All Might said, watching intently, almost able to see Midoriya and All For One in the places of the young hero and the tyrannical ruler.
"But how is Upgrade seeing this now?" Ojiro asked.
"He's melding with the machinery, so he's probably connected to whatever connected Rojo to him in the first place." Midoriya theorized.
"Listen to every word: be afraid. You cannot run, you cannot hide from me. I will find you. And when I do, I will retrieve my Omnitrix and destroy you!" The squid-faced villain declared, before swallowing Upgrade.
If one were to look at the students, they would swear they were trying to mimic the SpongeBob and Patrick shocked faces meme. "I think I've been traumatized... again..." Hagakure said in horror.
"That's gonna be in my nightmares for weeks!" Koda said, shaking like a leaf.
"We've seen some scary stuff as teachers and as heroes... But that's a different level." Present Mic said, clutching his chest a bit.
"And it was happening to a child. Even younger than us." Todoroki said, worried for the boy's mind.
Rojo finally pulled Upgrade off, who was now disoriented. "Oohhh..." The Galvanic Mechamorph groaned dizzily, before dodging as she shot at him.
"Understandable. I'd probably want to pass out after that." Mineta said, nodding in understanding of Upgrade's nausea.
"So sentient machines can resist Upgrade's attempts to merge with them. That could be a problem." Aoyama noted in concern.
"He'll probably have to stun her or tire her out somehow to finish this." Bakugo said.
He then ran around to the pull-down machine behind her and upgraded it, giving himself arms to grab hold of her. "Time to work out!" He declared and used his arms to hold her mid-flight and repeatedly slammed her face into the machine. However, she managed to pull herself free, landing backwards on a treadmill. But, Upgrade immediately possessed the treadmill and launched her back into the pull-down machine.
"Nice use of his surroundings." Midnight praised.
"Incredible. So Galvanic Mechamorph can even upgrade equipment that isn't actual technology. Now you have to wonder where the limits are, where does its capabilities end?" Midoriya wondered in amazement, writing the info down in Upgrade's page of his notebook.
"He's treating her like a pinball game!" Sero laughed.
"That should also help disorient her, as well as obviously cause her pain and wear her down. If he keeps this up, Upgrade should be able to meld with her and put an end to this." Aizawa said.
As both stood up, Rojo again fired at Upgrade, who bobbed and weaved out of the way. Gwen, who had been watching all this, noticed the building's beams were starting to break.
"Oh, come on! Don't we have enough to worry about right now!?" Mineta complained.
"Gwen needs to get out of there! She's in danger!" Uraraka said worriedly.
"She ran into danger to find and help Ben. I doubt anything will make her leave until he gets out of their safely." Asui said, both admiring and concerned for the girl.
A group of S.W.A.T officers busted through the front door of the gym as Rojo was shooting haphazardly. "Duck!" Gwen cried out and one laser beam went just over the officers' heads.
They fired their guns at Rojo, giving Upgrade the opportunity to charge her and pin her to the ground. "Now this won't hurt a bit!" The nanite alien declared, before merging with her again, this time shorting out her technology.
"Alright, officers! Way to help out!" Kaminari cheered.
"Indeed. We could use some more quality officers like that. Tsukauchi would greatly appreciate the assistance." All Might said.
"But finally, this is it! End this already, Upgrade!" Kirishima exclaimed.
Gwen and the S.W.A.T team watched as electricity flew out of the two. "Ahhh, get outta me!" The cybernized punk demanded.
"Okay, I lied." Upgrade admitted as he removed himself from her body. (They couldn't help but chuckle a bit at this.)
As Rojo got up, the red eye pieces, metal spikes and hardened skin effortlessly crumble and fell off her human body. "I'm...normal." She exclaimed.
"Abnormal's way more like it." Upgrade shot at her. (The students nodded firmly in agreement.)
"Look, I-I don't know what came over me. Come on, please, you gotta help me!" She pleaded, but thensilently noticed her old rifle, which had slowly rematerialized on the ground.
"She's trying to weasel her way out of it!" Jiro said angrily.
"That checks another box off on the psychopath checklist: conning and manipulativeness." Yaoyorozu said, equally angry with the woman.
"Don't fall for it, Upgrade! She tried to blast your family for no reason even back when she was human!" Ashido warned him.
But then, they were shocked and exasperated when the rifle appeared from nowhere. "Oh, come on!" All the students complained at once.
"How did that even get here?! It didn't get merged with her and the robot before!" Koda questioned in horror.
"I-I'm just a girl." She continued trying to play innocent, but quickly dropped the act and kicked the gun up into her arms. (They all gave a quick shout of "No!")
"Guess what? So am I!" Gwen declared as she ran up behind her and kicked her to the ground. Rojo was down.
"FINALLY!" The entire audience exclaimed in relief.
"An excellent kick, Gwen! Flawlessly executed!" Iida praised.
"But seriously, this raises some major questions about this girl. It took FOUR ARMS throwing two big metal robots into her to knock her out earlier- and even that was only for, like, two minutes! Are we SURE this girl doesn't have a super strength Quirk or something?" Kaminari asked.
"Honestly? I'm with you, Pikachu." Bakugo admitted.
"The Omnitrix radiates a strange energy, right? Perhaps exposure to this energy when Ben transforms made Gwen and Max stronger than normal humans... Or maybe it's possible they even have some alien DNA somehow?" Todoroki theorized.
"Whaaaaat? Nooooo, that- that's crazy! THAT'S CRAZY!" Maverick exclaimed as he tried WAY too hard to dismiss Todoroki's claim... in order to throw the boy off the truth.
Immediately, though, the gym started crumbling.
"Gwen, we gotta go!" Upgrade told his cousin. Gwen ran out and Upgrade picked up Rojo's body, carrying her out before the building completely came down.
"And even after everything she's done... he still saved her." Midoriya said, amazed at the boy's strive to do the right thing.
"Maybe we really were too hard on the kid." Midnight said, feeling proud of the boy.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Aizawa said. Although, it was impossible for him to deny... the kid did good.
He then handed her off to a S.W.A.T officer and waved goodbye. "She's all yours!" The nanite alien declared, before he and his cousin retreated.
"There! NOW she'll finally get locked up where she belongs!" Present Mic said, the entire audience sighing in relief that the madwoman was finally taken down.
"At last... this crazy adventure can finally be over. My heart needs a break from all this insanity." Mineta said, he and a few others feeling exhausted, as if THEY had actually been fighting the crazed cyborg chick.
