When I first thought of writing a webnovel, I wanted to create a well-written story with unpredictable twists and a powerful protagonist—but that was a long time ago (the name is Story's End don't read it it's terrible....). The idea for this webnovel came to me when I was 16, and now, I finally feel it's ready to be written.
Back then, I wasn't in a good place in life, and around that time, I stumbled upon a not well known novel called Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. It might sound silly but that novel probably saved my life. Now, I want to do the same. I want to write a story that can save people, to give them a reason to keep living. I know this may sound presumptuous, but it's what drives me.
Cursed Loner Viewpoint is a novel for the lonely, for those who, like me, sometimes feel lost in life. It was written for people who struggle with themselves. If you've ever felt down, I hope that by the time you reach the epilogue, you'll feel a little better about yourself.
About Some Resemblances Between Cursed Loner Viewpoint and Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint:
Now that you know Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint had a big impact on me, you might notice some similarities in certain aesthetic aspects of the story. The first being the title. Originally named Solitary Eyes, I decided to change it to Cursed Loner Viewpoint because I thought the former was too poetic and unclear. Additionally, "lonely" and "solitary" don't quite carry the same emotional weight. And for my story, I very clearly wanted to explore loneliness. So that's the reason behind the change.
Another resemblance might be the protagonist's name, Kim Honja, which is close to Kim Dokja. It's worth noting that, first of all, neither of these are common names in Korea, and like SingnSong, I thought directly symbolizing the story's theme in the character's name worked well. While Kim Dokja means Kim the Reader, Kim Honja means Kim the Loner.
Despite these similarities, I went in a completely different direction than ORV, and I think after a few chapters, you'll see the differences. I just wanted to write this here because I know very well that some people would point it out and bring it up to me.
