Chapter 91 - Escalation

Cani stood in the midst of the battlefield; her breath labored as she surveyed the remnants of Demon Lord Ikati's forces. Her body glowed faintly with the residual energy of her Mantra. Around her, the shattered remnants of the enemy army littered the ground, their weapons broken, and their morale shattered.

"Not so tough now," she muttered, raising her hand as molecules in the air twisted and snapped under her control. With a flick of her wrist, she disintegrated the last wave of soldiers charging toward her, reducing their weapons and armor to dust.

Just as she took a calming breath, preparing to check on the others, the sky above her darkened. A deep rumble echoed from the distance. The sky filled with blinding bright light. Cani's eyes widened as she turned toward the ocean. On the horizon was now a wall of water—an incoming tsunami, crackling with residual lightning energy. A massive Mushroom cloud is rising behind it.

"What the-..." she whispered, recognizing the danger about to hit the island. In an instant, the ground violently shakes. A strong gust of wind blows past, knocking Cani to the ground. The windows around her shatter to nothing, and the buildings crumble. The shockwaves from their clash had reached the island, and with it came a devastating tsunami, and an overwhelming EMP rippling across the landscape.

Her body tensed, her eyes narrowing as the ground beneath her feet shook violently, fissures spreading across the island like cracks in glass. The shockwaves from the EMP rippled through the earth, sending tremors racing through the terrain, while the sky above buzzed with static. Cani's thoughts raced. 'We need to get out of here!' The massive wall of water hits the island, Cani jumping onto a nearby roof as the strong waves engulf the water-side town in several feet deep water. Cani looking on the horizon at the wasteland of battleships, the remaining ships quickly closing in on the island.

"This is bad"

Cani jumped from roof to roof, watching as the World Government battleships landed on the flooded harbor, crushing the Golden King under the walkway. Ground officers flood off the boats as Cani grits her teeth, jumping into the air over them. Clenching her fist.

"Molecule conundrum!... Viajaya!" Cani creates a massive flaming bow, pulling back the arrow with her fist, releasing it. Sending a massive wall of flames at the fleet.

"I have to get to Yuma!"

The first Commander was Zarael, a man cloaked in dark red robes, his eyes cold and calculating. His presence felt oppressive, a crushing force that bent the air around him.

"I am the 1st Commander, Zarael. You must be the one Ikati warned us about." Beside him stood Jinrik, the 2nd Commander, a massive figure whose entire body seemed to glow with raw, uncontained energy cracked his knuckles, smirking.

"You've got a reputation, kid, but we're here to end it. No hard feelings." Yuma's gaze locked onto Zarael, then Jinrik. His fists clenched, reality bending ever so slightly as he prepared for their assault.

"No hard feelings, huh? You'll regret underestimating me." Zarael's lips curled into a cold smile.

"We won't make that mistake." In an instant, Jinrik launched himself at Yuma, the ground shaking under the force of his charge, while Zarael extended his hand, conjuring a dark wave of energy. Yuma grinned, his mantra flaring.

Without a word, he clenched his fists, a sharp pulse of his Reality Mantra rippling through the air around him. The ground beneath his feet cracked, and the space between them seemed to distort.

"Let's have some fun!! Strength Mantra!" Jinrik made the first move, charging forward with the speed and force of a runaway freight train, his fist glowing with pure energy. But Yuma barely flinched. In a single fluid motion, he stepped to the side, his hand grazing the air as reality bent to his will. Jinrik's punch passed through nothingness, the space around Yuma warping, as though Jinrik had swung at a mirage.

"What the—?!" Jinrik barely had time to react before Yuma gut punched him, then kicked him into the air slightly. The energy within Jinrik's body exploded outward uncontrollably, and before he could even process what happened, Yuma twisted reality around him. Jinrik's form shattered, breaking apart into fragments of light before disintegrating into the void. Zareal just watched one of the strongest commanders of Demon Lord Ikati's fleet get evaporated and killed by a… nobody!

Zarael's eyes widened for a split second, but his composure remained. He raised his hand, and the air darkened as waves of oppressive energy emanated from him. His robes fluttered in the invisible wind of his power.

"You won't defeat me so easily." Yuma said nothing. He vanished in a blink, appearing directly in front of Zarael. The 1st Commander's hand shot up, dark energy crackling as he attempted to crush Yuma under an invisible force. But Yuma's eyes gleamed with a deadly calm.

"Reality Bend." The words made the battlefield go silent as rain started falling.

With a swift gesture, the very fabric of existence warped around Zarael, his energy twisting against him. The crushing force he attempted to wield backfired, compressing upon his own body. Zarael gasped, his control shattered. In an instant, his body collapsed in on itself, vanishing into nothingness.

It was over in seconds. Yuma's gaze shifted, no emotion in his eyes as he walked past the remains of the battlefield. His target lay ahead—Demon Lord Ikati.

Demon Lord Ikati stood at the other side of the courtyard. Yuma's fists clenched tighter as he prepared to confront him, but as he approached, a familiar crackling energy rippled through the air. Yuma halted, his eyes narrowing.

"Going somewhere?" In a flash of lightning, Admiral Ryker appeared, blocking his path. His electric blue eyes gleamed as arcs of lightning danced across his body. The intensity of his aura crackled in the air, almost palpable. Ryker smirked, raising a fist already charged with raw, electrifying energy.

"I'm not letting you anywhere near Ikati, Alien King: Yuma."
