Hours passed and eventually hatchi woke up, his small pink head waving back and forth slightly as he tried to shake the dizziness out. Waves of disappointment crashed over him as he realised it had not been a dream.. he'd have to spend years evolving back into a human, and how should he explain to his future wife that the reason he couldn't talk about his childhood was because he spent it as a worm? Who would believe him that he was born with hundreds of worm siblings and crawled his way out of the dirt to become human? Hatchi paused for a second, was he even on a planet with humans, he wasn't actually sure that he was. The system hadn't said anything about humans and he hadn't actually seen any..
It was both too early and too late for any of that now he guessed, so might as well keep eating. The small worm was now sporting a pair of small fangs that hung out of his mouth. It made moving slightly more difficult but he just had to lift his head slightly.. eating dirt on the other hand.. well it was a breeze now! He'd never been faster and plowed through the dirt like it was nothing! Tunnel after tunnel was carved with an efficiency surrly no one could match him on! In reality he moved about two inches a minute, which was very impressive for his size but not impressive overall.
Around two hours of this passed when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his side! Turning to look as he thought a rock must've scratched him he instead found a worm slightly smaller than himself! Was this one of his hundreds of siblings? Well it didn't matter since this little worm was trying to eat him! Even if it did not posses fangs like him it still used amazing suction power to rip off small chunks of him, and that really hurt! Hatchi turned around as fast as he could to face off against the other worm, baring his two small teeth in self defense. Hatchi had misunderstood one thing though, other worms didn't have complicated thoughts! His siblings gave zero shits about his defense and immediately resumed biting chunks out of him! It didnt seem to even notice he had teeth, it only cared for sustenance!
Horrified hatchi backed up and bit at them finding it quite easy to ripe a large chunk off, but unlike dirt it did not taste decent at all. He wriggled his body away from the other worm and continued to viciously fight, though while for him it was a dramatic fight for his life to any human it wasn't very impressive. After all it was just two worms flopping at and biting eachother, maybe an amusing scene but certainly not terrifying.
His body hurt, every movement he made caused him to feel a burning pain shoot up from his wounds. With every desperate flailing movement he gained and dealt some damage until eventually his sibling ceased all movements. Hatchi stood completely victorious but also heavily injured, far too injured to pay attention to all the notifications that popped up as he fell back into a deep sleep
