Harley walked towards his room tired because he had stopped himself from hunting his mate down and spending the whole day with her but he couldn't because the work on the ground had to be done on time if not, it would backfire on his pack in a not-so-friendly manner.
On getting to his room, he could hear his mate's voice and some birds tweaking. He opened the door only to find his mate lying on the floor in his shirt and looking up at him.
"What are you doing?"
"Talking to my new friends."
"The birds?"
"Yeah, this is Madison and this is Natila," Marietta said, pointing to them.
Harley looked over at the birds, maybe hoping to find a name tag or something on their neck or anywhere on their feathers but found nothing.
"Did you name them?"
"Nope, Maddie told me, she's the gentle one while Naddie is the first one."
Harley stared at his mate for a while but said nothing before asking, "How do you know which is which?"
"They told me."
"He doesn't believe you Marietta, no one will. People who talk to birds are all dead, except you though." Maddie said, looking sad.
"He will. I trust him." Marietta said, looking at Maddie
"We trust him," Monica said, correcting Marietta and looking at her. "Remember I'm here now pup."
"Sorry, I just have to explain it to him in detail for him to understand."
"Wait, so you're telling me that you can hear animals like you can hear them speak English."
"For the last time Harley, yes."
"That's pretty cool. So what's that bird saying?" Harley asked, pointing at Naddie.
"Trust me you don't want to know."
"But I want to."
"Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you," Marietta said, her hands up in defeat.
"Just tell me already."
"She called you a brainless idiot and said your stupidity is on another level but most times you are smart and wise but still stupid when it comes to some things," Marietta said, realizing what Naddie said. She turned to look at her, "Hey, why did you insult me mate like that, that's not a very nice thing to say."
"I know, that's why I said it," Naddie replied.
"Yep, she's feisty alright or you're just making that up?''Harley said looking at Naddie. "Wait a minute, I still can't wrap my head around this, so you're saying that you can speak to animals and hear them?"
"I wasn't making anything up and yes, so I just found out."
"Wow, that's something."

Laufey Pack
***
"It's been a week since the Montgomery pack showed up here and I thought they might show up again or at least do something but they haven't done anything. I'm afraid that they might be up to something." Silas said looking at his Mom with a worried and tired expression like he hadn't slept for a couple of days.
"Silas, is that really why you came into my room this early in the morning?" Thalia asked, looking at Silas with lazy eyes.
"Well Mom it's something and there is a pack meeting that you have to attend with the elders later this morning, by 10:00 am. You have to come, it's a must, they have been asking after you and about the sudden battle last week with the Montgomery pack and retreat and I don't know what to say again…"
"Can you just shut it? You're speaking so fast that it's giving me too much headache to follow all the words." Thalia said, lazily placing her hand on her forehead and hair.
"Sorry about that, so are you going to come?"
"Why should I?"
"I just told you, mom. The elders and Elders, Gamma, and the Enforcers are already asking questions that I don't know the answers to."
"Yeah yeah sure whatever, I'll be there. What time is it again and when?" Thalia said, sliding back to bed.
"10:00 am and today. Didn't you sleep last night?"
"I barely slept last night thanks to your dad, he was quite rough on me last night," Thalia said, adjusting her pillow and resting her head well on it.
"Don't call him that, I haven't accepted that he's my father yet."
"Yeah, sure whatever."
"Okay, so where is he?"
"Where's who?"
"Chris."
"He went out for a morning run and I have to take a nap before he gets back or not. I might be dead before noon so get out," Thalia said, adjusting herself on the bed.
"But mom…"
"GET OUT," Thalia said and threw a pillow at Silas before falling back on the bed face flat, and passed out almost immediately.
Silas ducked it and ran out of his mom's room laughing like a little kid who was looking for his mom's trouble.
What Thalia didn't know was that Silas used the meeting as an excuse to get his mom out of her room so he could sneak into her room later that morning and steal one red liquid.
Later that day, Thalia went back into her room and opened the safe, took a glass bottle of the red liquid, and noticed something not giving it much thought, she locked her room door and windows and drank the red liquid, (let's call it red Lilly.)
After waking up, Thalia could feel her body and powers getting stronger and the effect it had on her was reducing. She disposed of the bottle and walked out of her room to go to the dining room because it was time for lunch and the red Lily always made her hungry.
She got there and noticed no one was there yet. She asked after the rest and the maid said that they weren't hungry and not to bother them. She took her mind off it and ate her food.
Silas on the other hand was locked in his room and staring at the red Lily that was in his hand, not knowing what to do about it.
