Chapter 278 - Chapter 278: Guardians of the Multiverse (8)

[Third Person's PoV]

Peter burst from the far side of the Moon, sending shockwaves through the shattered rock. A deafening explosion followed as his Electric Chi crackled through the sky.

As the rubble began to fall, Firestar streaked through the chaos, weaving between the Moon fragments with incredible speed. She spun and unleashed fiery blasts, incinerating the debris before it could turn into meteorites.

Meanwhile, Peter spread his arms wide, blue energy weaving into his suit, transforming it into a wing suit. He maneuvered effortlessly through the air, his sharp eyes tracking the renewed battle below. Ultron and the others clashed once more—only this time, the fight was even more ferocious.

T'Challa suddenly emerged from a portal behind Ultron, his rocket boots propelling him forward. With precise aim, he fired blast after blast, pushing Ultron downward.

Ultron turned, but before he could react, Killmonger appeared behind him, locking his arms around Ultron's neck. However, Ultron effortlessly grabbed Killmonger's face and hurled him toward T'Challa before firing a powerful beam from the Mind Stone.

Before the blast could reach them, Doctor Strange intervened, swiftly teleporting them to safety. Instead, the Mind Stone's energy carved a devastating line through the ground, detonating everything in its path.

Captain Carter intercepted the beam, bracing against it with both her shield and one of Strange's protection spells. Her feet dug deep into the ground as she struggled to withstand the sheer force.

Doctor Strange extended his hand, transforming his magic into a massive three-headed dragon, each maw unleashing torrents of mystical fire.

Meanwhile, Thor summoned a storm, channeling a pillar of lightning toward Ultron.

On the opposite side of the battlefield, Gwen unleashed a freezing ray of Chi from her hands, turning the fight into a three-way elemental clash.

But before the attacks could connect, Ultron activated the Space Stone, teleporting away at the last second. The sudden displacement caused an elemental explosion where he had stood, a chaotic blast of fire, electricity, and ice colliding.

Now at a distance, Ultron's Space and Power Stones glowed in unison, warping gravity itself. The entire battlefield shifted, dragging everyone forcefully to the ground.

Not even Peter and Firestar were spared. They plummeted uncontrollably, but before they could crash, the Hulk leapt through the oppressive gravity, catching them midair despite the increasing pressure.

All across the battlefield, heroes groaned and struggled to rise. Ultron, unaffected, strode toward Gamora, gazing down at them with cold detachment.

"I'll now be taking back what rightfully belongs to me," Ultron declared.

But he failed to notice Harry.

With veins bulging and cheeks puffed from strained breath, Harry forced himself up, his body trembling with barely contained power. The ground beneath him cracked and shattered. His skin turned a brilliant shade of green as he tore through the air, becoming a blur of motion.

Drawing his escrima sticks, he pressed them against Ultron's neck and unleashed a surge of high-voltage electricity.

Ultron convulsed violently, his connection to the Power and Space Stones momentarily disrupted.

Seizing the opportunity, Natasha bolted underneath him, sweeping his legs out from under him.

As Ultron fell, Harry crossed his escrima sticks against his neck and slammed him into the ground.

Felicia, Gwen, and MJ wasted no time, each grabbing one of Ultron's limbs. T'Challa and Killmonger secured his last leg, holding him down.

Doctor Strange quickly conjured a binding spell, golden runes flaring as glowing magical chains wrapped around Ultron's body, pinning him in place—even restricting his head so he couldn't use the Mind Stone.

Gamora didn't hesitate. She had been waiting for this exact moment. Activating the Infinity Crusher—powered by the Soul Stone—she rolled it toward Ultron.

Ultron roared in unbridled fury as the device made contact, consuming the Infinity Stones in a brilliant, blinding light.

A tremendous explosion erupted, hurling everyone backward with a devastating shockwave.

As the dust settled, the heroes groaned and slowly pulled themselves back to their feet. Hulk casually strode forward, carrying Lizzy and Peter over his shoulders.

Everyone stared at the aftermath in stunned relief—until Thor broke the silence.

"Is that it? Is he finished? Did we win?" he asked.

The entire group froze.

"THOR, YOU FREAKING IDIOT!!!" they all shouted in exasperation.

"What?! What did I do?!" he asked, genuinely confused.

"Do you really think you've won?" Ultron's voice echoed ominously across the desolate battlefield.

"Oh no…" Gamora breathed, her eyes widening in realization. "The Infinity Crusher… it was only designed to destroy the Infinity Stones in my universe…"

"You just thought to mention that!?" Peter exclaimed in disbelief.

"I obviously didn't realize it at the time!" Gamora shot back defensively.

Peter groaned, throwing his hands up. "Come on! That is such bullshit! His Infinity Stones work in every universe, so by that logic, any artifact meant to destroy them should work universally! That's a massive plot hole!" He slapped Hulk's shoulder in frustration.

"Didn't the Watcher warn us?" Ultron's voice rang out, his tone dripping with amusement.

The heroes immediately fell into formation, standing in a tight circle with their backs to each other, watching for any movement.

"First health bar is gone," Peter muttered.

"Which means he's charging up for Phase Two," Harry added with a smirk.

Unfazed by their banter, Ultron continued, "My Infinity Stones are unique. Every universe is different—each one just a fraction distinct."

From the crackling flames surrounding them, Ultron emerged like a phoenix, rising through the smoke and ascending toward the sky. All eyes followed his ascent, no one daring to look away.

Standing beside Doctor Strange, Peter subtly extended his hand downward, making contact with Strange's unnoticed. Their gazes never left Ultron, ensuring no one else saw the exchange.

"That still doesn't explain why the Crusher didn't work! I call lazy writing," Peter muttered.

Ultron offered no reply. Instead, his Infinity Stones flared even brighter, their energy crackling ominously.

"Kat," Peter said quietly.

"Yeah?" Felicia responded warily.

"I need you to bless me with all the luck you can muster—shift the probability in our favor."

Before she could act, Ultron extended a hand, triggering a barrage of explosions. One after another, fiery detonations rocked the battlefield, sending waves of dust and debris flying. Strange's protective spell barely held, golden runes forming a shield around them as the blasts struck.

Then, Ultron unleashed a white, all-encompassing shockwave.

The sheer force sent powerful gales crashing against Strange's protective barrier, shattering the runes one by one as the group struggled to hold their ground.

Felicia, shielding her eyes from the light, smirked. "Feelin' lucky, Tiger?"

"Not really…" Peter muttered.

"Well, let's fix that." She extended her hand, a silver magic circle forming over her palm. A shimmering aura enveloped Peter.

"I need everyone to hold him back for a few seconds and create an opening for me…" Peter's voice was firm. "This may be our only chance."

"You have a plan?" Carter asked.

"Yes—but it depends entirely on my luck." Peter glanced at them all. "It's a one-in-a-million shot… but I just need a single opening."

Without another word, he crouched—and vanished in a blur.

"Oh no, you don't," Ultron sneered, raising his hand toward Peter.

"I should be the one saying that!" MJ's voice rang out.

She dropped from a portal above Ultron, swinging a massive pink energy construct—a morning star. She slammed it into Ultron, knocking him away and breaking his line of sight with Peter.

Peter continued running, electricity crackling through his body as his power surged. He skidded to a stop a short distance away, kicking up dirt and debris.

His Chi flared, wrapping him in a brilliant azure aura. Peter inhaled sharply, then exhaled, his eyes glowing blue behind his mask. The energy coursed into four distinct points on his back.

With a crackling surge, two massive spider-like energy limbs erupted from his back, stabbing into the ground to anchor him. Two more extended over his shoulders.

Peter flicked his wrists, and shot a web from each hand towards the points of his constructed limbs. He brought his hands together and formed a single string creating a make-shift bow.

The battlefield trembled around him, explosions echoing in the distance.

Reaching to his side, Peter pulled out an arrow—a sleek projectile with a pulsating purple arrowhead.

He nocked it, drew the bowstring back, and closed one eye.

Then, he waited.

And waited.

Watching every single one of them fight against Ultron—whether it was Carter and Natasha with their shields, the Golden Panther, Doctor Strange, or his own team—was exhilarating. Harry and Lizzy moved in a rapid, coordinated assault, striking with precision.

Peter clicked his tongue when he noticed Hulk throwing Ultron too far. Ultron's counterattacks were just as deadly, and if not for Doctor Strange's protection, they would have suffered heavy consequences.

Then, the moment Peter had been waiting for finally arrived.

Gwen froze Ultron in midair, halting his attack before leaping away. Thor followed up with a crackling barrage of thunderbolts, and Doctor Strange ensnared Ultron in golden chains.

Strange then extended the chains to the others, allowing them to hold Ultron in place. Just as his Infinity Stones pulsed with energy, MJ dropped down onto his shoulders.

Ripping off his helmet, her two eyes flashed pink as she placed her hands on either side of his head. She activated [Mental Erosion] and [Synaptic Disruption], targeting the Mind Stone embedded in his forehead.

Ultron let out a cry of pain, his processes scrambling under the mental assault. His limbs refused to respond—paralyzed by the synaptic disruption.

'There!!' Peter thought, his moment of opportunity finally here.

"Make Papa proud," he whispered, his back muscles tensing before he let the arrow fly.

The arrow shot through the air, faster than any bullet.

However, just before impact, the Mind Stone flared with energy, repelling MJ and shattering the golden chains that restrained Ultron.

Regaining control of his body in an instant, Ultron reached out and caught the arrow—mere centimeters from his forehead. He let out a relieved sigh.

But then...

A purple liquid oozed from the arrow's tip, splattering over the Mind Stone.

"What?" Ultron muttered in surprise as the strange goo dripped down his face.

Suddenly, a voice echoed within his system.

"My, oh my… Looks like it's time for the real MVP of this battle to take the stage~!"

Ultron's sensors flared. "Who said that?" he demanded, scanning his surroundings.

Then, something shifted inside his system. Delving deeper, Ultron detected an unfamiliar presence.

Lines of glowing purple 0s and 1s congealed together, taking form. Tiny legs appeared, clad in flat purple shoes with matching socks. A sleek purple dress materialized, adorned with black web patterns and a spider emblem at the center.

Two small arms crossed over a chest, rising to reveal a face with chubby cheeks, a playful smirk, and glowing purple eyes behind a mask.

"It looks like you have a bug in your system… Or should I say an A.R.A.C.H.N.I.D.?" The figure grinned arrogantly.

"A child?" Ultron asked in confusion.

"No~" she chuckled. "Just a highly sophisticated A.I. that's about to take you down!"

Aria placed her hands on her hips, smirking. "I've spent all this time watching from the sidelines while everyone else got to play hero. But now? Now it's my time to shine."

She intertwined her fingers and stretched them out as if cracking her knuckles.

"And to think, it's my first day on the job, and I have to save the Multiverse~"

Aria's grin widened.

"Good thing Daddy taught me everything I need to know."
