She and Koyomi had been old rivals—one a mage of the Special Zone Security Team, the other a leader of the Lion King Organization's Three Saints. They'd clashed often over various matters.
Seeing her dead now left Natsuki with a sense of unreality.
When a person dies, it's like a lamp extinguished—everything returns to dust.

With a casual toss, he stored it in his treasury. This weapon was best suited for Yukina Himeragi.
The matter had reached its conclusion here. Those who deserved to die—and some who didn't—were all gone.
"August, what's next?" Esdeath asked slowly, looking at him. Having arrived in this new world, she was eager to fight.
"Next is the plan to destroy Japan. It's an island nation not far from here. Your task is to sink it into the sea as quickly as possible. I want that country erased from this world completely."

Though Esdeath enjoyed releasing survivors of villages or nations she'd destroyed, letting them return for revenge later, things were different now. She wouldn't stay in this world long, so if destruction was the goal, she'd make it absolute—per August's intent.
"Natsuki-chan, how about handling the Lion King Organization side?"
"Do we really have to be so thorough?" Natsuki asked, a hint of lament in her eyes as she looked at August.
"To cut the grass, you must remove the roots. Since we've chosen to act, we'll eliminate every unstable factor."
"Fine, I understand."
"You don't need to do it yourself. Someone will take care of it."

In an instant, a figure appeared nearby.
Akame, bearer of the Precept of Lust, August's first precept envoy.
"Master."
Upon seeing August, Akame knelt on one knee, addressing him with reverence.

He summoned Najenda, placing her as the island's supreme authority.
Though unfamiliar with modern technology, August transmitted everything to her via mental link, and she adapted quickly.
Itogami Island now rested firmly in August's grasp.
The Artificial Island Management Corporation was staffed entirely with his people. Dissenters were eliminated.
The previous head, Kensei Yarase, was dead, as was the Yarase family—including Motoki Yarase, Kojou's close friend.
In a mere week, Itogami Island had transformed utterly.
As for the instigator of it all, he lounged in Natsuki Minamiya's office that day, indulging in a lavish lifestyle.
"You jerk, weren't you going to build a Night Empire? Why are you still like this?" Natsuki snapped.
"Well, Natsuki-chan, I've left it to Najenda. She'll handle it."
"You're such a hands-off boss."
"I'm a dominator, not a ruler. I only need to control everything. Who manages it isn't my job—I'm too lazy to bother."
Natsuki rolled her eyes. This guy was beyond saving.
A week ago, August had gained a new power, boosting his strength further, but he'd grown absurdly idle—barely moving lately.
The reason was simple: killing Kojou Akatsuki had earned him a super draw, a high-tier draw, and a normal draw.
Unable to resist, he used them. The high-tier and normal draws yielded nothing.
But the super draw hit—and it was none other than Sloth, one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
August now possessed five of the seven sins, needing only Envy and Greed to complete the set.
