Chapter 21 - chapter 20

"Hmmm, if I were to use it like this..." I whispered as I flicked my wrist, forming a strong gust of wind that propelled a shard of magisteel even further than it was ordered to.

It resulted to several trees being penetrated, like a bullet tearing through multiple layers of paper.

"...That's good, then maybe."

I closed my eyes and imagined the shape of an axe, asking the great sage to use [Metal Manipulation] to form it in real life.

"Create!" I ordered and snapped my fingers, manifesting a guillotine blade floating in front of me.

"Gale!"

I casted and sent the blade flying at super sonic speeds, cutting down several trees before being lodged deep into the ground.

The hobgoblins cheered as they witnessed the spectacle before coming over to collect the fallen trees to use then as lumber.

We were currently on the process of building the town, with that said, we were actually stuck on creating the water system with two of the Dwarven brothers stuck on smithing duty.

As far as I understand, the system was using the nearby river to keep it running. But it was too complicated for me to even understand even though the plans itself came from my mouth, courtesy of the great sage.

So I focused on training and acquiring new skills. Since we were near a river, I had thought to try and learn some basic water manipulation but it's turning out harder than the slime Rimuru made it look like.

"Water!" I shouted and scooped up some water using the palm of my hands before throwing them high unto the air.

Then I used wind magic to try and manipulate the water mid-air in hopes of giving the great sage some idea how water manipulation would work.

Thanks to Veldora, I got control over lightning. So that makes it wind, lightning, and metal.

Metal manipulation was more or less not a part of the elements so I could safely assume it can develop to a separate unique skill or be used to upgrade one.

Shadow manipulation was a racial trait so I doubt it could be sacrificed or be used to create a brand new skill but of course I can be wrong.

"Come on, water manipulation..." I willed myself to learn the damn skill already and even tried my best to use my wind manipulation to directly manipulate the water using the oxygen molecules inside of it.

The result was a really, really painful headache that came from me trying to control something so complex.

"God damn it." I cursed and stomped my feet against the river bed out of frustration.

Hmm, maybe I can... lower the temp using wind manipulation? I mean, I can technically lower Temps using a breeze right?

Of course that plan also failed, since no breeze in the world would be cold enough to immediately freeze water and I wasn't about to stand on the same spot for the next couple of hours.

Instead, I took inspiration from my favorite panda movie and sought out inner peace. Closing my eyes and used my senses to feel just the water.

This is boring but Inner peace I guess.

I mumbled to myself and continued to practice the same thing over and over again until finally, I achieved my goal.

<>Confirmed. Extra Skill Water Manipulatuon... successfully acquired.

"Oh, is that where you were, Sir Rimuru? I was searching for you!"

He's too big now, way too big...

Kaijin even said he was bigger than an ogre at this point. It was probably a side effect or me giving him a name as well as a class since he is the new Goblin king.

"What is it?"

"I've come to report to you, sir. We've captured a few suspicious individuals."

"Ah, I see." I nodded with a smile and clapped my hands. "Did you treat the humans well?"

"As expected of Rimuru-sama, you knew before I even told you. " Rigurd declared in a loud voice while flexing his muscles. "Yes Sir, we made sure they were not harmed and escorted them to our main tent!"

"Very good, I assume you're thinking they're here to inspect the area. Am I right?"

"A-Amazing Rimuru-Sama! That's the very reason why I sought for you!" Rigurd confirmed and fell behind me as we walked.

"Rigur saved them from a pair of giant ants and decided it to be best to escort them to our village."

Shizu... I will save you this time, no matter what I need to do.

"Wh-whoa! Hey! I wanted that!"

"That's just mean, isn't it? I raised this meat myself!"

"Sir, I regret to inform you that I am not giving up this food!"

"Munch, munch."

"... seems exciting inside here." I mumbled quietly and looked at Rigurd who chuckled nervously.

"Apologies, Rimuru-Sama..."

"No need, the ants took off with their luggage and they hadn't eaten in a few days so you guys gave them some of our food correct?"

"Y-Yes."

"Alright, You did a very great job buddy. I'll take it from here."

"Hha! I will do my best to improve my rule and be less of a burden upon you, Sir Rimuru!"

I patted the flabbergasted Rigurd by his shoulders, which was a workout by itself, and entered the tent.

The hobgob guarding it opened the flap for me.

The moment we stepped in, I felt all eyes upon me. Four adventurers sat on the ground, their mouths full of assorted meats and vegetables. Their eyes were wide open as they gawked at me. It was a hilarious sight to see, although they probably didn't realize it.

"Munch, munch…"

"Good Afternoon to you guys, my name is Rimuru and I'm the one leading this gu—"

"""HUH!? A TIEFLING!?"""

yeah, I should have probably guessed that's how they'll react...

I heaved a sigh and chuckled quietly to myself as I watched the three adventurers panic, then I turned my attention to the fourth one.

A beautiful girl that I would never seen once again in my lifetime, her exhausted eyes seemed to light up a little the moment they met mine and I found myself smiling without a care in the world.

Shizu Izawa.
