Chapter 3 - ID Card?

The path that Sandra was taking was finally going in a good direction, apart from the looks of people scared by the bear being used as a mount, nothing really happened. When they finally reached the exit of the place, the bear ended up being knocked down by tranquilizer darts.

"Halt!" The forest rangers spoke still a little tensely, but now that the bear had fallen asleep, they were starting to calm down. "Could you tell me what you were doing on top of a bear?" The ranger approached Sandra, Cupcake remained alert, waiting for any sudden movement from the man. He kept a distance from the pit bull that protected that fierce woman, not knowing which of the two seemed more intimidating.

Knowing that the man was just doing his job, Sandra decided to just cooperate and tell what she knew, how she woke up in a forest with no previous memory of how she ended up up there. The man, listening carefully, could not find any malice or lie in that woman's words. "I understand, thank you for your cooperation. We'll check the security cameras to get some information about what happened. Could you wait here for a few minutes?" Sandra just nodded. She followed him to the tent, sat down on a chair, and waited for the man to see the security camera recordings.

The expression on his face only showed confusion. One moment the camera was normal, the next moment it froze, and when it returned, there was Sandra lying in the woods, and a dog had mysteriously appeared next to her. "What the..." He didn't even know what to tell Sandra. After all, there was no logic or explanation for how she had suddenly appeared in that forest. "Could you... show me your ID?" Approaching Sandra. The guard asked her, searching through her pockets or even the backpack she had found in the woods. And after a few minutes, she found her ID. "Sandra Carvalho? A peculiar name, I must say..." He spoke to himself, returning the ID to Sandra.

After a few hours, she was able to leave, leaving that tent and finally the national park. She took one last look at the park, seeing a truck arriving to take the bear away. "What do I do now? ..." Looking at the city, she seemed to recognize nothing in front of her. The buildings had strange shapes, nothing like the buildings that looked like 'prisons' in Brazil. What surprised her were the cars that floated in the middle of the street. Cupcake was next to her, just accompanying her owner.

With the information she got from some people around, she discovered some things that helped her better understand where she was. Apparently, she was in East City. "A simple name, but nothing reminds me of anything." She had never heard of a city called 'East City' or even about everything around it. "Am I in some kind of Narnia?" A completely different world. This only reminded her of the movie Narnia.

"Hey Cupcake, we better at least look for something... I have an idea for a place to sleep." It wasn't hard for her to get information about where there was a dump; breaking into the place was even easier since the fence was low, and night was falling, so Sandra set up a small shelter in case it rained. "It's not really our house, but at least we can sleep, right, boy? An old mattress should be enough for today..." Cupcake just lay down next to Sandra, making them both fall asleep in each other's company.

The sun was shining in the sky, making them both wake up early, the dump had no owner, so it wasn't considered a real 'break-in' in Sandra's book. "Hey boy, I was thinking...How are we going to get money? We can rob some unlucky thugs and petty thieves, but I was thinking of something more stable." Besides, Sandra was already getting irritated by her own smell, With no place to wash herself, the accumulated bad odor was already an obstacle. Leaving the place with Cupcake, she just jumped the fence again and started walking around the city, going through the alleys in search of something that would help her.

Of course, it was easy to find small gangs of teenage idiots trying to get a quick buck with anyone dumb enough to go in an alley, but nothing that a punch couldn't handle.

She just took off their clothes and everything of value that those boys had. "4400 Zenies? What the hell is Zenies?" She kept looking at the yellow bills in her hand. She didn't know if that was a lot, but looking for a hotel, she managed to see that she had enough for two nights.

It took her a while to find a hotel that accepted dogs, even if she had to pay more. With a place to wash herself and bathe her dog, Sandra's mood finally started to improve. She started to analyze herself in the mirror, seeing her strong and healthy body, and she was much more charming than in her past life. "But this hair...it defies gravity just by existing..." She doesn't remember having ever fixed it, but her hair is always looking like a bush. "I need a change of clothes; even though these look sturdy and I don't see any signs of dirt, I still need some decent clothes." The clothes she was currently wearing were a great style for fighting, but for walking around in public? They weren't really decent or modest. She looked at the clothes she took from those bandits.

"Call me Michael, because my pronouns are Hee-hee!" Sandra struck a dramatic pose, placing her hand on her white hat. She looked like the king of pop. Cupcake stared at Sandra as if she had lost faith in humanity. "Fine fine, don't look at me like that. I'll get you some steak; let's see if I can sell these things." She spoke while looking at the clocks and other objects she picked up.
