In the Jujutsu High training room, Mai watched in silence as Mimiko and Nanako spread talismans all over the floor.

"That idiot… Giving us a task like this!"

"Don't be mad, sister. It's not that bad."

Nanako seemed particularly irritated, while Mimiko placed the talismans with a small, satisfied smile. The contrast in personalities was clear—Mimiko seemed to enjoy small tasks like this, while Nanako couldn't stand doing them.

Mai could sympathize with Mimiko. If the two of them were just normal girls, they would probably lead similar lifestyles.

"..." While the two sisters argued heatedly, Mai turned her gaze toward the one who had saved her, the one who had captured her interest… Well, technically, it wasn't really him, but rather a clone of the original. Mai didn't fully understand the details—only that he was supposed to be a copy made to protect them in his absence.

A clone of Yuji Itadori, who, on the surface, didn't seem different from the original at all.

But obviously, there were certain peculiarities that revealed his status as a clone. Mai had tried talking to him numerous times, but she always received silence in response. Later, she learned from the second clone that this Itadori was incapable of speech.

In exchange for the ability to talk—and possibly other capabilities that the second clone avoided revealing—this clone possessed strong cursed energy reserves, making him a powerful bodyguard for her and the other girls.

As for the second clone, Itadori had created two copies. One, as mentioned before, served as a bodyguard, while the second retained only his physical traits, devoid of cursed energy.

Mai had few opportunities to speak with this second clone. If he wasn't locked away in Itadori's room, he was far from Jujutsu High for some reason.

It annoyed her that she couldn't talk to Itadori, to hug him, to claim his lips. Of course, she had no interest in doing that with a clone, but it wouldn't hurt to at least have a conversation with them. Maybe she could even gather some personal information…

"And where is that idiot clone?" With the two sisters nearly finished placing the talismans, Nanako stood up with a scowl, her eyes scanning the training room. "He tells us to do this and just disappears?"

"He must have his reasons, Nanako." Mimiko tried to calm her sister, but only received a sharp glare in return.

"And why are you defending him so much?"

"..."

Mai raised an eyebrow as she watched the interaction, clearly curious about what they had to say.

"Hey, are you just gonna stay quiet? Answer me!" Nanako seemed even more irritated by her sister's silence.

While she understood that they had a binding vow, she couldn't grasp why Mimiko insisted on defending Itadori's actions. They didn't even know if he would be capable of defeating the false Geto, yet they were following his orders like servants.

It pissed her off! Days had passed, and nothing seemed to have changed, except that now they were under the same roof they had tried to destroy a year ago.

Nanako was losing faith in Itadori's words with every moment, and that was frustrating her even more.

"It's because…" Mimiko finally opened her mouth to speak, her eyes cast downward as she carefully placed another talisman.

Nanako narrowed her eyes, noticing her sister's hesitation. "Spit it out already!"

Mimiko closed her eyes and sighed. When she lifted her head, her eyes were glistening with unshed tears, making Nanako stare at her in shock.

"It's because he's our only hope to free Master Geto."

Nanako took a step back, her face filling with guilt as she looked away.

"If he loses, we'll never have another chance to free him." Mimiko picked up another talisman and, with meticulous care, placed it on the floor, smoothing it down gently. "We can't do much on the front lines… No, actually, we can't do anything at all. So at the very least, I want this to be perfect."

Yes, that was true. Nanako couldn't deny it. If Itadori was defeated, they would never be able to free Geto with their own abilities. They were weak, lacking talent… Yet Geto had freed them and embraced them as his daughters.

Even if Itadori's reasons for wanting the false Geto dead were different from theirs, it was undeniable that he had accepted them out of pure goodwill. He knew they were criminals in the eyes of the Jujutsu society and could have eliminated them in the blink of an eye.

Yet, he made a binding vow that turned them into allies, not slaves, as long as he freed Geto's body by killing him.

He didn't have to do that, but he did—asking only for their loyalty in return.

"I just want our father to rest in peace…"

Mimiko spoke with sorrow, and it seemed to be the final blow for Nanako, who closed her eyes in shame over her previous attitude.

"You…" Nanako knelt down, sighing as she picked up a talisman. "You're right."

And with a small smile at her sister, she resumed placing the talismans, this time with much more care. "Let's do this perfectly."

Mimiko smiled at her sister's change in attitude and, nodding in satisfaction, moved closer to continue placing her own talismans.

Mai, who had been watching everything, smiled at how quickly the two sisters had reconciled. Her gaze grew distant as she got lost in memories of a time when she had enjoyed peaceful moments with her own sister.

"I was an idiot." She shook her head, her face filled with melancholy as she recalled how she had treated Maki.

Accusing her of abandonment, telling her she should have remained useless… Mai knew Maki had her reasons, and yet, she ignored them because she was too angry to understand.

All Mai had ever wanted was to be free from cursed energy so she could live a mediocre but peaceful life… But that was just a dream she clung to as if it could ever become reality.

If she hadn't been so foolish, she could have followed Maki, and together, they could have grown stronger… But she chose to stay behind, continuing her mediocre life within the clan.

Because of her, Maki had been unable to grow.

And Mai regretted it every single day since she woke up in the infirmary.

If she could, she would go back in time and change everything… But she couldn't.

She could only move forward with the choices she had already made, striving to be better… She only hoped that Maki would forgive her for everything.

"..."

Mai blinked when she felt two pairs of eyes on her, turning to see Itadori's clone watching her with a curious expression.

"What?" she asked, but the clone simply raised an eyebrow in response.

"I was just… thinking."

The clone nodded, seeming to understand the tone behind her words. Mai grew curious about that, a mischievous idea forming in her mind.

"!"

Getting close enough to catch the clone off guard, Mai shot him a rather seductive look, a far cry from her melancholic demeanor just seconds ago.

"So, tell me, Mr. Clone..." With her index finger resting on the clone's chest, she gripped his shoulder to prevent him from pulling away, a small, sultry smile on her lips. "Since you were watching me, I guess even his clone seems to retain some feelings..."

The clone's eyes widened at the danger of this situation, his face showing a hint of desperation.

"It's been a few days since we did that... ~How about we pick up where we left off?"

The clone opened his mouth, but when no sound escaped his throat, he tried to step back, only for Mai to quickly stop him.

"Oh~ What's the rush?" She leaned closer to his ear, licking her lips as she kept him in place. "You clones are identical, aren't you? You'll do~"

The clone's mouth fell open, his expression filled with dread as he foresaw his own fate. The original is going to destroy me.

How did he know that?

Because I would destroy me!

"Kidding~"

But letting go of the clone, Mai allowed him to step back, a playful grin on her lips. "Geez, why so nervous? Itadori never looked embarrassed when we kissed."

The clone, sighing in relief, looked at her with an unreadable expression. You wouldn't understand.

!

All four turned when the training room door swung open, revealing the second clone walking in alongside a familiar figure to Mai.

"Utahime-sensei!"

Utahime, who had been following the clone in silence, was surprised to see Mai and approached with a concerned expression. "Hey, if you've been here all this time, you should have told us! We were worried! Momo was desperate after finding the Zen'in clan in ruins."

Mai nodded, apologizing. "Sorry, I'm not allowed to leave until I've fully recovered... And my damn father sliced my phone in half."

"Ugh... Sorry to hear that, kid." Utahime rubbed her face. The Jujutsu society was screwed up. "But next time, accept help. If we had lost you too..."

Utahime looked melancholic. That piqued Mai's curiosity—after all, everyone from Kyoto was alive, so she wondered who Utahime could be talking about...

But she decided to let it go. This didn't seem like the right moment.

"So, you're here to help?" Mai eyed her curiously.

Utahime nodded, turning to see the second Itadori clone crouching beside Mimiko and Nanako, exchanging a few words with them. "That boy told me he needed my technique to enhance a teleportation ability."

"I can see why." Mai nodded, seeming to understand Yuji's reasoning as she narrowed her eyes. "If he rushed to get you, then this isn't going to be easy at all."

"I already figured as much." Utahime sighed. "Hey, kid—"

Boom!

Just as Utahime was about to call out to Itadori for a better grasp of the situation, they were caught off guard as the entire structure of the room trembled.

The second clone immediately went on alert, turning to the first clone for confirmation. Upon seeing him nod, he narrowed his eyes.

"He's here."

Everyone's expression, except for Utahime's, hardened as they instantly understood what was happening.

"Don't let them get in here," the second clone ordered the first, who nodded before stepping out of the training room. "We don't have much time, so let's do this quickly."

"Wait, who's here?" Utahime asked in confusion, turning to the clone for answers.

And in this situation, Itadori saw no reason to hide the truth.

"Kenjaku."
