Although his father, the Emperor, was fond of him, he was not a ruler whose eyes love could blind.
But the Emperor did have a weak spot, and that weakness was Jiang Yue, his mother who had passed away early.
In this letter, Wei Shu had deliberately harbored a hint of a death wish, asking Emperor Yue, if possible, that he wished to be buried closer to his mother.
In life, he hadn't been able to honor her properly; in death, they could keep each other company, so that on the path to the Underworld, his mother wouldn't be too lonely.
Another thing was to urge Emperor Yue to take care of his health and to express his apologies for not having fulfilled his expectations.
