Kneeling before the graves of his parents, Adam was overwhelmed by sadness. When he recalled the times he had spent with them, he couldn't help but tear up again.
"Father, like I promised you… I have become a Magus," he said softly. "I've become a man who people look up to. I'm sure you would have been very proud of me."
He turned towards the grave on the right. His lips quivered and he continued, "Mother…."
Pearls of tears trickled down his cheeks, and he found it difficult to speak.
A long time later, he showed a radiant smile, "Mother, I… I've made lots of friends. They're people I can trust and rely on. If you were here… I'm sure you would have liked them."
Seeing his brother cry, even Valerian couldn't help but begin to sob. "Brother…"
Adam wiped his tears away and turned to Valerian. He gently lifted the young dragon by the shoulders and placed him on his lap.
