Adam's expression sank. For a moment, he truly thought that he was going to receive all the answers from the Joker.
But in hindsight, he felt that he was being quite naive.
Firstly, nothing so valuable could ever be received without paying an equivalent price.
Secondly, considering the Joker's sadistic nature, the price was going to be steep. Very steep.
Seeing the awkward expression on the raven-haired youth's face, the Joker was unable to contain his laughter.
"Fafafa! Silly lad, did you think I would tell you the answers to all the questions you ask just like that? Fafafa, stupid, so stupid. It would appear that only your physique has grown, but your brain remains underdeveloped."
Hearing the blatant mockery in the man's voice, Adam's lips twitched. But he did not take offense. He knew that the Joker did not mean that. It was just how he was.
However, he also knew that a jester's joke is never just a joke. There was always a truth tucked inside the laughter.
