Chapter 184 - Controlled Set Leaks

I watched as Henry sat on the couch inside his trailer, fully suited up in his Superman outfit—minus the cape, which would be added in post. The suit itself was designed to look hand-sewn, a nod to the idea that Ma Kent had lovingly crafted it herself. It had a homespun charm, tighter around the arms and chest, with textured blue fabric and a bright red "S" cresting his chest. His boots were still on, faint dirt from the set clinging to them, but the man was currently deep in a different kind of battle.

The glow of the TV flickered over his face as he clutched a controller. On-screen, his character in Dark Souls was moments away from dying—again.

"Come on, come on—no, NO!" Henry shouted as Manus, Father of the Abyss, smashed his character into oblivion with a wide, sweeping attack. He slumped back dramatically, letting out a long, tortured sigh.

"You gotta change your build, man," I said, grinning as I leaned on the edge of the trailer's counter. "You're nearly fat-rolling out there. Something faster would help."

Henry pointed at me like I'd offended his honor. "No, no, no—this is the best build. I've done the math. I just need to be better."

"Sure," I said, grabbing a soda from the fridge. "Die ten more times, and I'm sure it'll all click."

Henry groaned and dropped the controller onto the couch beside him. "I hate this DLC."

I laughed, taking a sip. "Then you're really gonna hate the second game."

He perked up. "Wait, when does that come out?"

"Next year," I said. "Big year—Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Dark Souls II."

Henry's eyebrows lifted. "Oh, stacked. Have you played The Witcher? Or read the books?"

I nodded. "Yeah, the books are great. I never really finished the first two games though—just couldn't get into them."

In my previous life, I had played The Witcher 3 and became a fan, even though I hadn't played the first two games. I also knew how they messed up the Witcher series due to bad writing. I was waiting for The Witcher 3 to release in this world so I could play it again—it was that good of a game.

"You have to play the second one at least," he said.

"I'll try," I promised.

There was a small pause as he picked the controller back up, hovering over the "continue" screen.

"By the way," I added, "we've got another D&D session next weekend. You still dodging us with WoW raids and Warhammer painting, or are you actually gonna show?"

Henry smiled sheepishly. "No promises, but I'll try to make it."

He continued to play, and I watched from the side, being a backseat gamer.

Henry leaned back against the couch, catching his breath from yet another brutal encounter with Manus, and looked over at me. "You know what would be great?" he said, suddenly animated. "If you made a Witcher movie. I've wanted to play Geralt ever since I read the books."

I smiled. "Hmm… maybe not a movie. I was thinking more like a series."

Henry grimaced, almost offended. "A series? Come on, the quality's always lower. You can't cram that kind of story into a bunch of low-budget episodes."

I raised an eyebrow. "Ask me again in three years."

He gave me a sideways look, half curious, half skeptical. "Alright, alright. If you do make it, just remember I want first dibs as Geralt."

He stood up, stretching his arms with a crack of his knuckles, then turned toward a large case in the corner. "So… want to play some Warhammer, mate?"

I looked over, incredulous. "You brought your minis here too?"

Henry grinned. "Why not?"

Suddenly, there was a knock at the trailer door. One of the crew leaned in. "Mr. Cavill? It's time."

Henry gave a mock salute. "Ah, showtime."

We stepped out of the trailer, sunlight hitting us as we walked across the gravel-lined path toward the makeshift streets of Metropolis.

As we neared the set, Henry turned to me and asked, "So, I've been meaning to ask… can I keep this suit for the rest of the series?"

I gave him a look. "Sorry, Henry. Next time, it's getting updated. No more homemade look. It'll be Kryptonian tech-based—something sleeker, tougher. This one's going to be shredded by the end of the film thanks to Metallo."

Henry frowned. "But what if people love it? Are you gonna remove the tights?"

"We'll cross that bridge when we get there," I said with a smirk.

As we approached the city set, Henry slowed and gestured toward a few people off in the distance, phone cameras out, snapping away. "Why are they taking photos like that?" he asked.

"Don't worry about them," I said casually. "They're plants. Controlled leaks. We let a few things slip out on purpose—just enough to stir the pot online. Creates hype."

Henry laughed. "Smart."

BIG Leak From Superman Set — 5 New Images!

Image 1: A wide, panoramic view of the outdoor set. Several dilapidated and partially destroyed buildings line the fake street, mixed in with large green screen walls behind them. Lighting rigs and crew tents are visible in the background. Rubble, debris, and smoke machines are scattered around the foreground—looks like the aftermath of a major battle.

Image 2: A candid moment showing Henry Cavill (in full Superman suit, minus the cape) laughing and chatting with Daniel Adler on set. Adler is in casual clothes and sunglasses, holding a clipboard. They appear to be mid-conversation—relaxed, like close collaborators.

Image 3: William Fichtner as Metallo! He's wearing a distressed, armored costume. One side of his face is untouched, revealing Fichtner's expression, while the other half is painted green with motion-capture dots, likely for post-production CGI. The armor is gritty and bulky, evoking something out of The Terminator.

Image 4: Henry Cavill stands beside director Brad Bird, who's pointing at something off-camera. Henry still has his suit on, arms crossed, and he looks focused but calm.

Image 5: Superman faces off against Metallo across the debris-covered set. It's a wide angle showing both characters on opposite ends, with fires burning and smoke rising in the background.

====

Pic 1: This has to be from the final act—maybe the climax? The set looks completely torn apart, probably after Metallo's rampage.

Pic 2: Adler on set with Cavill—he's clearly very involved with everything. Love that.

Pic 3: 100% confirmation. William Fichtner is Metallo. Looks awesome.

Pic 4: Cavill looks great, but I'm not totally sold on this suit yet.

Pic 5: Definitely looks like a standoff. Final boss battle incoming.

Hoping this movie lives up to the hype. Considering it's co-written by Adler and Scott Snyder, my expectations are sky-high!

user2489:

So wait… Metallo is the villain?? Ugh. I really thought they were going for Brainiac or Parasite. This kind of kills the hype for me.

Brickhouse33:

Same here. Metallo feels... meh.

Krypt94:

Broooo, Metallo is underrated. People forget he's not just a robot—he's a tragic cyborg who hates what he became. Fichtner's gonna crush it, mark my words.

Red78:

Metallo makes perfect sense for a "grounded" Superman movie. He's personal, he's physical, and he's got Kryptonite built in. Snyder + Adler are going to make him a compelling villain.

GeodeCore:

I'm just glad they're not rushing to Doomsday or Brainiac. Let the big stuff breathe. Metallo is a great choice to test Clark.

Cap99:

Still not feeling the suit. The tights just look off. Like… why the tights? It looks silly.

SteveX23:

That suit looks like cosplay, I'm sorry. This is bad. Batman looked so much better.

ddEyGuy:

No trunks. I still can't take it seriously. And the texture looks bad.

Housel41:

Nah, this is Superman—bright, bold, and clean-cut. Love it.

ManO33:

That suit screams classic Superman. People just forgot what he's supposed to look like. It's perfect for the tone Adler's going for.

TruthAn88:

Tights and all—this is who Superman is. Looks like they're going with Martha Kent making his first suit.

Re56acy:

You want armor? That's Batman. Superman doesn't hide behind padding. The man can catch meteors with his face—come on.

Comvy:

I still think the new suit in the current comics run is better. Sleek, no trunks, red accents, more modern.

OldGu938:

Lmao, okay calm down, New 52 kid. You clearly don't know Superman if you think trunks are the problem.

Lyuxc7:

Y'all are forgetting Lex is confirmed to be in this! Adler said it himself last month. Lex is definitely pulling the strings.

Kalone54:

I bet Lex shows up midway and steals the third act.

Thejjaily:

Don't forget Adler also said this film will show "Clark Kent as much as Superman." I think it's time we finally see the reporter version fleshed out—Lois + Clark teaming up for a story?

Couhh01:

That sounds... boring. I'm here for superhero action, not Journalism Simulator 2014.

Gothest:

Dude, what? Clark and Lois as reporters is core to who they are.

HalJo89:

I'm betting the end-credit scene sets up Brainiac. You know they're going to tease something major after Metallo.

BatsInMyBelfry:

What if Batman does show up?

TheAm77:

Anyone think Diana will cameo? Like maybe a news clip or something?

He23iii:

Guys, the Wonder Woman trailer just dropped.

No joke—it looks incredible.
