More than half an hour had passed before the Elf Queen's anger finally subsided.
"Do you understand what I'm saying?"
Her cold voice made Elina too afraid to move. She pursed her lips and lowered her head in sorrow.
"I understand, Sister. I'm sorry," she replied, her voice filled with guilt.
"It's good that you understand," the Elf Queen said, her tone now tinged with satisfaction.
Then, in a softer voice, she asked, "By the way, where are you now? Why couldn't we find you in the Forest of Eternal Silence? Did you manage to escape and enter human territory?"
Inside the throne room, the Elf Queen crossed her legs and leaned back against the throne's backrest.
The right side of her face rested on her palm, while her left hand held a pentagon-shaped communication crystal.
"Well…" Elina hesitated but quickly regained her composure. Had her sister discovered she was lying, things could have turned much worse.
