"But everybody believes I am. And there's nothing we can do about that?"
"That is not an issue. I'll clarify it to everyone that I have nothing to do with you."
"No. You can't do that, Grace," Trent quickly said, suddenly turning serious. That was the only guide he can hide under to always show his face here.
If not he knew what he would have done to those two pests that messed with her yesterday.
But since he still needed them to get close to Grace, he had asked his boys to hold on for now until he was done using them.
"Why?" Grace asked suspiciously. She could also guess why Trent didn't want her to clarify things, but before she could expose him, he had already said,
"That will make you a laughing stock and I don't want the woman I love to be subjected to any form of ridicule. Allow me to help you Grace, even if it is just for a while, please," Trent pleaded in a tone that even surprised him.
