"Don't leave Charles," he added.
"Of course, sweetheart, I won't leave Charles. I'll stay with Charles," Grace assured.
"Promise?"
Jace looked at Grace, who was already nodding helplessly as she hugged Charles even more tightly. "Promise."
He was highly impressed with his son. If he continued like this things will go well for all of them and there will be no question of Grace dashing off any time soon.
But as he stared again at Grace his eyes seemed to be telling her, "don't make promises you will not keep" but Grace disregarded him and focused on Charles.
"Will Charles eat something now?" Grace asked after a while. The last time he ate was during breakfast and it was way past lunch time, so Grace was sure he'd be hungry by now.
After Charles nodded his reply, Grace turned to Jace who at the same time brought out his phone to call his secretary, Mrs Doreen Woods to make arrangements for food. She was the only one who knew that the boss was back in the office.
