Ess had only been to a hospital once before. The affair had been rather bloody. His purpose had naturally been to kill someone specified by his contractor back then.
The young man had been a favourite back in those days, when he was still in the family business. Because his utilisation of Fint techniques was so broad despite also being very deep, he was considered one of the best for missions that required impossibly stealthy kills – even beyond the specifications of the Heathen Code.
Today, however, Ess was in a hospital as a patient.
To be fair, the term hospital wasn't entirely accurate when used to describe where he was. A large suite had been partitioned into three rooms: one for physical medical procedures, a lounge, and a pharmacy.
