Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End

A slender, delicate figure stepped out of a taxi. Her clothes were plain—clearly worn by someone with little—but her beauty was that of a goddess. Everything about her was stunning. Her flawless skin, delicate features, and expressive blue eyes drew attention. Her black hair was pulled into a neat bun, with a soft curly strand falling on each side of her face, making her look both innocent and ethereal. At just twenty years old, she already had the grace of a woman and the vulnerability of a girl.

She entered a dimly lit bar, scanning the place nervously. She seemed to be searching for someone. Then, a woman with striking blue-black dyed hair waved her over.

"I thought you wouldn't come, Yiyi!" the woman said brightly.

"You're unbelievable, Nan Nan. You know I don't like places like this," Yiyi said, visibly uncomfortable.

"Just sit. Let me get you a drink," Nan Nan offered, patting the seat beside her before walking away.

VIP Lounge

High above, in the VIP lounge overlooking the lower floors, sat four young men in tailored suits. All of them were between twenty-three and twenty-five, but one of them outshined the rest. He was sinfully handsome—tall, with thick jet-black hair and stormy gray eyes that seemed to pierce through souls. His name was Jingye.

His gaze briefly settled on the girl downstairs—Yiyi. Though she radiated a unique charm, something about her screamed "too simple" to him. Not his type. He looked away.

One of the men, with mischievous brown hair and a sly grin, leaned forward with a drink.

"Brother Jingye, here—try this," he said.

Jingye smiled and took the glass. "Thanks, Yanji."

But after drinking it, Jingye frowned. Something felt off.

"What was in that?" he asked, his body heating up unnaturally.

"Just a little Devil's Kiss," Yanji whispered with a wink. "Let's get you to a room."

Downstairs

Nan Nan returned with a glass of wine for Yiyi.

"Drink this. It'll loosen you up," she said with a smirk.

Yiyi took the drink reluctantly. Soon after, she whispered, "Nan Nan, I need the washroom."

"Go upstairs. Use any of the rooms," Nan Nan waved her off.

"Come with me," Yiyi pleaded.

"I'm having fun. You go."

Yiyi sighed and went up. She skipped the first room and tried the second, but it was locked. Desperate, she returned to the first.

Inside, she quickly used the bathroom and splashed water on her face. Drowsy and overwhelmed, she stumbled onto the bed. "If Nan Nan can't find me, she'll look around," she murmured, then slowly drifted to sleep.

Moments later, warmth enveloped her. She moaned lightly, removing her shirt, unaware of her actions. A figure in the room stirred, his eyes catching sight of her. Her innocent beauty and soft moans ignited something primal in him.

He moved closer, drawn by something beyond reason. His fingers brushed her jaw, lifting her face. He kissed her.

The Next Morning

Yiyi stirred, her body aching. She turned, wanting to go back to sleep—until she felt arms wrapped around her.

This wasn't a dream.

Memories rushed back. The wine. The room. The man.

She shoved him away, her eyes welling with tears.

He looked at her silently. He had no idea what to say.

Wasn't it she who came into his room? He hadn't known it was a mistake. As a man, he had simply responded.

He called Yanji.

"The girl's been crying nonstop. What the hell happened?" he asked coldly.

Yanji peered in.

"Jingye!" he shouted after a moment. "This is bad. She's not the girl I sent to your room!"

"What?" Jingye's jaw tightened as he stared at the trembling girl in disbelief.

Yiyi was curled up, crying.

"What do I tell Nan Nan? Who will ever marry me now?" she whispered.

Yanji looked guilty. "I'll take responsibility."

But Jingye stepped forward.

"I did it. I'll take responsibility."

Yiyi raised her tearful eyes to him. "There's no need. Let's just forget it happened. We're both adults."

"No. I'm a responsible man," he said. "No one in Z City will marry you now. I will."

"I said no!" she cried.

He stared at her, baffled. Women usually fought to be with him, not run away.

"Whether you want it or not, I'll marry you. My conscience won't let me leave you like this."

It was a forced marriage.

They signed the wedding certificate that very day.

And the Maybach drove them straight to the Dong Mansion.
