The Green Glory Lord leaned forward slightly, his eyes settling on the young woman standing calmly before him.
His sharp gaze studied her face and posture for a moment before his lips curled into a polite smile.
"Lini," he said with a smooth voice, "how are you doing?"
Lini Lowanfield bowed again, her movements graceful and full of respect. "I'm doing well, Master," she replied softly. "Thank you for your concern. I'm sorry I couldn't contact you because I was severely injured in an accident. But I'm fine now."
Her voice was calm, her expression steady. She didn't show a hint of what she had truly gone through.
There was no sign of the pain or fear she had faced, nor did she mention that she had been turned into a hybrid puppet by Aksai during their journey in the Wild Devil Lands.
She couldn't betray Aksai after being turned into his hybrid puppet even if she wanted to. Besides, she knew very well that her so-called master didn't truly care about her.
