Hazel let out a deep sigh. "Fine. The Crown Prince need not grant me any chances," she said, averting her gaze away from him.
"You should ask for more. Perhaps then, I might consider it," Daedric replied coolly.
"I have no desire to do so, Your Grace," Hazel responded softly, her tone humble yet resolute. "I understand, and I've accepted that I've lost to you. It's time for me to move on."
Daedric's jaw clenched at her words. "You can't simply move on. First love isn't so easily forgotten," he remarked with a hint of scorn.
Hazel met his eyes, "Perhaps not for everyone," she said firmly. "But once I set my mind to something, I make it happen."
Daedric looked at her for a moment. "I'll be leaving for Salhye tomorrow. You, on the other hand, will return to the capital with Prince Sullivan and his wife in the morning. The purpose of your presence here has been fulfilled."
Hazel shook her head gently. "I have no desire to return to the capital," she said softly with defiance.
