Cao Ge rubbed his forehead, taking a considerable amount of time to sort things out before he fully accepted these facts.
This world was starkly different from Three-Body; the world of Three-Body was relaxed, and although there were arduous tasks to complete, there was at least ample time. But in this world, everything was so pressing and urgent.
Looking around at the still-dark environment, Cao Ge's heart gradually settled. Now, his view of his surroundings was completely different from his previous state of mind.
Because now he had a basic understanding of the environment he was in.
He came to the control panel in the room and sat down, staring at the buttons on the metallic console, starting to think about his next plan.
According to the small computer's time recording on the hibernation pod, the spaceship should already be in a crashed state, probably at the bottom of the sea. So the first task was straightforward: he simply needed to eject the hibernation pods of all the surviving people using the computer.
However, the only problem was that the main computer of the spaceship was out of contact. The commands issued from here couldn't eject all the hibernation pods; he could only control a few nearby subordinate pods.
So, to save everyone, he had to, just like in the original plot, break through the encirclements to reach the power cabin to reboot the main engine, and then start the main computer system.
As for the second task, what he could think of now was to initiate the spaceship's self-destruction program after saving everyone.
Cao Ge sat quietly on the operator's chair without saying a word, and the space around him fell into silence.
After a few minutes of stillness, Cao Ge straightened his body and reached for the metallic console, rapidly tapping on the keys.
Following the memory in his mind, he navigated the computer into a black screen interface, a screen with nothing on it.
"JL0013."
Once the identity ID was entered, the screen changed, displaying a few options which included "Weapons, Personnel."
Cao Ge thought for a moment, then clicked on the personnel option. The screen changed again, and Cao Ge activated the hidden camera in the neighboring cabin.
The screen changed, showing another cabin that was also pitch-black, impossible to see anything.
Fortunately, the camera had night vision.
"Taptaptap~"
Cao Ge typed a few more lines of code and then activated this feature.
The image on the screen turned to gray; although it was still not very clear, the situation in the next cabin was fully visible.
Firstly, there were no signs that the cabin door had been opened, and the inside of the cabin was not in disarray, remaining in the pre-hibernation state.
The five hibernation pods standing on one side also showed no signs of being opened, and under the camera's night vision, faint heat sources could be seen inside.
Seeing this, Cao Ge breathed a sigh of relief; it was good that the people were still alive.
Positioning these people's cabins next to his wasn't without purpose; it was arranged this way to deal with emergencies.
Having assimilated some of the memories of his predecessor, Cao Ge had a recognition of the armed personnel next door.
They were several military officers under the original person's command, whose duties were to assist him in his work, including both civil and military officers.
Seeing that the cabin next door was intact, Cao Ge turned off the camera and then performed a series of operations on the keyboard.
"Click~"
With the final pressing of the Enter key, a red switch popped out on the steel wall not far from his hibernation pod.
Cao Ge stood up and walked over to the red switch, pulled open the iron skin covering less than 100 square centimeters, and five centimeters behind it, there was a small screen and a mini keyboard.
The display on the screen was a flashing vertical bar.
Without any delay, Cao Ge entered a string of numbers directly.
"Beep beep beep!!!"
This was a long sequence of numbers made up of his identity ID and a meaningless series of numbers.
"Clack~"
After hitting the confirm button, a sound of activation came from the wall in front of him.
Grabbing the protruding object on the wall, Cao Ge pulled hard.
"Clang~"
Cao Ge held back his red face, leaning backward, kicking his feet forward, and slowly retreated, as he gradually pulled open the thick fifty-centimeter steel door.
Because the cabin he was in had restored power, and the cabin in front of him had not, standing at the doorway appeared even darker.
Cao Ge didn't immediately walk in, but went to the cabinet next to his personal belongings locker and took out a luminous glow stick.
Cao Ge broke the glow stick, shook it hard, and only after the light stabilized did he walk in holding it.
This cabin was not much different from his own, in terms of space, the only difference being that six cryogenic pods stood erect against the circular walls. Cao Ge walked past the dust-covered cryogenic pods, looking through the portholes at the people in stasis inside, ensuring everyone was intact, before he finally approached the control console in the center of the cabin.
Cao Ge didn't care about the dust on the chair, and simply sat down, then followed the previous method to restore power, and the electricity in this room came back on.
"Buzz~"
The lightbulb overhead flickered a few times before it glowed steadily.
Seeing the cabin brighten, Cao Ge's face showed a hint of a smile.
Then Cao Ge picked up a rag at random, wiped off the thick dust on the console, and restored control of the metal table computer.
After clearing the dust from the computer console, Cao Ge called up the crew roster for the cabin, and after confirming with a small projector that all six people in the cryogenic pods were his subordinates, he returned to the control console.
"Awaken sleeping personnel."
Cao Ge looked at the option on the screen, with a "Yes" on the left and a "No" on the right below it.
Cao Ge pressed "Yes" without any hesitation.
"Hiss~"
As soon as the button was pressed, lights in the cryogenic pods behind him lit up, and the gas inside began to slowly vent out.
Because the sleep had lasted too long, a full thousand years, even though the people were still in suspended animation, the liquid inside had long since dried up, leaving only a gel-like substance sticking to their bodies.
Cao Ge glanced back at the cryogenic pods, and seeing the awakening process running smoothly, he turned back without further concern and used his identity ID to summon the hidden weapons locker.
The "Elysium Space" was a colonial ship carrying 60,000 people, so inevitably, some weapons were brought on board.
However, using these weapons required authorization from the various ministers; without it, they couldn't be accessed.
Of course, besides these weapons, there were also non-lethal riot guns scattered throughout the ship.
Before arriving at the colonial planet, these weapons would suffice, as they only needed to incapacitate people.
But Cao Ge, having watched the original drama, knew that those weapons wouldn't be able to subdue the mutated monsters, and lethal weapons were necessary.
"Bang!"
A steel door popped out of the wall, not far from the control console.
A slight smile appeared on Cao Ge's stern face. He hadn't remembered wrong.
Cao Ge immediately stood up and walked over to the wall, pulling back the steel to reveal the guns inside.
The guns looked somewhat different from those in his previous life, but generally they were the same, still fired by pulling the trigger.
The weapons were tightly attached to the steel wall, intact, including pistols, rifles, daggers, and the like.
These weapons were prepared specifically for him to prevent accidents, apart from his cabin, only a few others on board were equipped with them because the large-scale weaponry was stored in specific warehouses that could only be opened after landing.
Cao Ge picked up a pistol and checked it over, and seeing it wasn't damaged, he returned to the front of the cryogenic pods.
The lids of the cryogenic pods slowly opened, revealing the sleeping crew members inside.
With the cabin's power restored, the awakening program was executed flawlessly.
"Thud, thud, thud, thud, thud~"
Because they had been in stasis for too long, even though everything was proceeding according to the awakening program, the crew members still didn't come to their senses and fell straight to the floor.
