Erika breathed, her voice filled with a sudden, inexplicable wonder.
Whizzed!
BAM!
The three women instinctively recoiled, stepping backward in shock as the two halves of the dagger lifted from the ground, propelled by an unseen force, and hurtled towards each other. With a sharp click, they rejoined.
"...…....!!"
Silence hung in the air for a few heartbeats after the two pieces fused back together. The golden glow surrounding the dagger slowly faded, revealing the whole, unbroken form of Slayer lying on the ground.
Mira gulped audibly, her heart pounding in her chest. She cautiously bent down and picked up the dagger, her fingers closing around its familiar hilt. She felt the cool, smooth surface of the metal, a tangible link to her missing brother.
Turning to Erika, her eyes wide with a mixture of hope and disbelief, she asked softly, "Sister-in-law?"
"Michael."
Erika whispered, her voice thick with surprise and a dawning sense of relief.
