The pleasant holiday was now shattered.
In the morning, after seeing Old Xiao off on his flight, Mo Shangjun decided not to linger around outside. Once she had received the information about Shen Qing's friend that Qian Han had investigated, she returned to the school.
Upon her return, she happened to bump into the weekly meeting. Mo Shangjun attended perfunctorily, intending to find Ruan Yan for a chat about life and ideals afterward. However, halfway there, Zheng Cun's call came through.

Seeing the unfamiliar number, Mo Shangjun hadn't even managed to utter the cold "Who is speaking?" before a robust, resonant voice belonging to a middle-aged man sounded from the other end.
"Yes." Mo Shangjun's gaze shifted slightly, and she then asked, "May I ask who is speaking?"
"Oh, I'm Zheng Cun," the voice explained, subsequently asking, "Has Old Lin talked to you about the meeting?"
Mo Shangjun froze for a moment before calling out, "Zheng Commander."
