The dark alley is not literally a narrow alley but a bona fide street block. It got its name 'alley' because, during numerous expansions of Mexico City over the last century, the original alley was demolished to become the street it is today.
The construction site is situated in the middle of the dark alley, across from the temporary church. It was formerly a villa owned by an influential official, a business partner. Aaron didn't spend much to buy it, and under the name of Bruto Company, donated it to the Church of Truth.
