The reason he hadn't established a natural covenant with Five-Willow and the others wasn't for lack of affection, but purely because they were spawned by someone who is not a Druid—himself. They lacked many of the exclusive knowledges of both Druids and Treants, as their enlightenment stemmed from him; how could they know what he himself did not?
