Chapter 166 - Chapter 166

"Genkakuna Jiritsu-sei Style Two: Tamashī no naka ni aru kyōfu!" Ryukushu dashed towards Douma and summoned a few more purple entities and aftershocks in his direction.

At the same time, Vascalidon came crashing through the falling debris from the ceiling and appeared right in front of the blonde. He grinned and raised his hand while the other entities slithered closer.

Vascalidon summon a gravitational beam at Douma and the other purple entities started clawing at him their arms out of reach but arching to swipe at him. The angel ran back decimating some of the entities with his frost.

When the gravitational beam traveled further down the hallway it lifted the tiles from the floor along with a few of the purple entities, shoving them up the ceiling forcefully which caused them to disperse at one go.

"Raaaaa!" The remaining entities standing beside Vascalidon watched the scene unfold in front of them. Their eyes focused more on Douma who got away from the beam before it could send him flying up the ceiling with their comrades.

Vascalidon smiled lightly, "Oops sorry guys." He shrugged. "But you should've stepped away."

Douma landed in a spacious room when he threw himself away from the oncoming beams. When he turned to look at the darker corner of the room, he saw a door that piqued his interest but also raised concern given the situation he was in. The next part of the building was behind that door which means they were closer to the three weapons.

"Screeeech!" The monstrous entities and Vascalidon bolted towards the angel from the hallway. Douma blocked their vision with his frost which shattered the other two entities when they came into contact with it and kicked Vascalidon in the neck but the demons seemed to endure his attack, glancing at him as though nothing struck that area.

Suddenly, Ryukushu appeared at the corner and pushed Douma towards one of the walls with his large sword. The angel got up and dodged another one of his attacks, panting when he saw how outnumbered he was.

The samurai stood there giving Vascalidon the signal to chase after Douma and finish the battle if he can. The demon from hell nodded, he was confident that another gravitational beam would set the battle up for its conclusion.

Douma noticed the telepathic communication going on between the two and tightened his grip on the golden fan closest to Vascalidon's face. If I could just obstruct his vision before Ryukushu decides to sneak up on me again. He's not just standing there as the audience. He's watching every movement.

"Radiance!" Douma fired a golden aerial slash at Vascalidon.

The demon smiled and bit down the radiating slash like it was nothing. He snorted and continued rushing towards Douma, knocking him away with his large arm and leaping into the air to crush him into the floor.

Lying there helplessly, Douma lifted himself up and spread his wings. Vascalidon ended up crashing into the wall but that didn't stop him from springing up into the air again and swatting at Douma over and over until he managed to land a hit which he almost did when Douma maneuvered around the falling rubble in the ceiling.

Ryukushu appeared in front of the blonde and rotated his sword. He levitated closer to Douma and started firing purple streaks from his blade. Douma immediately hovered down, leaving Vascalidon stumped. The demon shook his head and dived down. Ryukushu followed after them, plunging his sword to the ground when he landed on the floor.

"I said this before and I'll say it again. Your determination can become your own weakness. This is exactly how the fate of those who opposed my policies turned out. Never spare your enemies because that condemnable mindset of theirs will be passed down to many generations."

Douma glanced at the samurai approaching him, "Geee why do you hate people so much? Going at each other's throats isn't going to solve anything."

"Your question is the exact reason why I'm doing what I believe is right." Ryukushu responded loud enough for any creature in the building to hear. "When humans don't come to an agreement they see you as an arch enemy, all that humanity they claim to possess deep within fades to dust. They won't hesitate to leave their enemies freezing in the cold or fending for their lives in the wilderness!"

"And it always starts with the weak. Our clan started strong and then weaklings were welcomed in with open arms. That's when we became enemies."

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. The angel got into a fighting stance when Ryukushu stopped in his tracks and narrowed his eyes at him.

"These people you talk down about did nothing wrong. It sounds to me that they needed shelter and the clan did the right thing. Just because you disagree with something doesn't make you right. If anything the clan turned on each other because of that sick mentality that manifested itself overtime." Douma retorted, his golden fans reflecting the twisted expression on Ryukushu's face. He couldn't accept the angel's words. He refused to accept it no matter what.

"What exactly makes you think these people were on our side? They dragged the entire clan down with them! That's why the two sides of our clan decided to go our separate ways. Discussion was completely out of the question, especially when those in charge were just as weak. So everyone including the weak would feel the blade and I made sure that registered in their brains. This was the merciful way of handling the situation so our society doesn't fall apart."

"Because they needed food and accommodation? Their sickness required a lot of care and it was hurting your resources? The same resources that you didn't hesitate to make widely available for your clanmates anywhere and anytime but when it came to the less fortunate, you just didn't care. That's selfish." Douma could tell Ryukushu was getting pressed but it was the truth. Hearing how Ryukushu just killed those he viewed as helpless and unworthy made him sick. This samurai has no place among any living being, not even the dead.

The samurai raised his sword a little higher, "It happened more than once and there was no convincing me that these people brought any good to our clan. Their sickness brought darkness to our clan even after we separated from our comrades. It took my mother and a few other comrades of mine who insisted on helping them and I couldn't do anything about it because enough with the division we went through. I could only watch their suffering when they were helping those people. I'd never lend the weak a helping hand."

Douma fell silent and looked down at the ground, "Sorry for your loss." The blonde said. "But killing others isn't going to bring them back."

"Oh that doesn't matter anymore. Right now I'm just making sure nobody has to suffer because of useless scums leeching off of our hard work and efforts. They don't view us as equals from my experience and what I've witnessed over the years."

"That's your experience and it's not even a tad bit truthful. Everything you're saying right now are lies. A majority of people's experiences contradict yours because you're just trying to make them look bad to fit your narrative here. I don't think any of these people who resided in the clan did anything to harm you. This agenda of yours needs to stop, it's not working."

Ryukushu grinned and held back his sword, "I know of some leaders in today's world who share the same perspective as I do. Enforcing such policies is possible. They don't even say it out loud, but it's present. Now that's something admirable."

Raising his eyebrow, Douma stared at Ryukushu, baffled by what he had just said. There's no denying that there are leaders who think just like the samurai in this era but to respect them for that was ridiculous. "Care to name a few?" He said, amused by this topic of their conversation.

Suddenly, Vascalidon landed in front of Douma and grabbed the collar of his shirt. His hawk eyes glared at the angel in his grasp who was shocked to see this giant beast that appeared out of nowhere.

"It's not over yet." The demon threw Douma into the air and threw a hard punch at his torso, sending the blonde flying backwards towards the wall.

Vascalidon was about to laugh when Douma emerged from the cloud of dust and punched the demon in the face with the same amount of force.

A bruise appeared on Vascalidon's cheek, his neck cramped from leaning to the back for those few seconds. He still remained in his spot, keeping himself standing upright. A pair of large legs formed on his mermaid body, supporting his weight on the ground.

Vascalidon rubbed the side of his face anxiously. Ryukushu walked in front of him, watching the angel a few feet away from them. Douma got ready, he fanned himself for a while preparing his next attack.

"I'll take care of things from here." Ryukushu said, stepping ahead of Vascalidon who towered over him.

Pointing his sword at the ceiling, Ryukushu fired purple shocks above that blasted through the entire building with a single flick.

The residents on the mountain watched in fear as the ground shook vigorously beneath their feet. It had been going on for a while now and they didn't know the cause. It paused and continued every so often that they resorted to leaving their houses and coming together to think of an evacuation plan.

When one of them was about to give another suggestion, mounts of soil and rocks rose to the sky in front of them, revealing a large hole that they couldn't quite decipher what was beneath it nor did they dare to go near it.

Those who were aware of the old building's history had speculations but they didn't want to jump to them just yet though they were willing to investigate.

The pile of rocks fell blocking Ryukushu away from Douma's view until the samurai sprang up and got ready to make another landing to crush his opponent on the ground.

Douma summoned a rain of icicles however numerous entities appeared around Ryukushu and decimated the attack like serpents. Ryukushu falling lower and adjusting his stance to make a smooth landing.

When Ryukushu reached the floor, Douma fired a gust of frost mixed with the same icicles giving Ryukushu a shock as his armor and skin pricked from the sharp numbing pain that came with the freezing wind.

Douma heard the sound of a magnetic force coming from one of the corners. He immediately slid away from the direction where the sound was heard and blocked Vascalidon's fist with his golden fan. The pressure of the beast's weight pushed him away slightly but he managed to get a hold of him in this spot.

"The world is about to end so what are you gonna do about it?" Vascalidon challenged the angel.

That crack in the sky. Douma knew what Vascalidon was referring to. I'm certain Chachamaru, Jeremiah, and the others will handle it before I get there. Ryukushu can't get those three weapons it's gonna make things worse.

"Good riddance." Vascalidon fired his gravitational beam at Douma, a smile crept on his face when he saw the angel getting thrown to the ceiling.

The large beast hopped over one of the slabs in the floor and summoned a spherical source of energy with his palms. "Let's play a game of bowling shall we?" He said in a sinister voice.

"Discrete Singular Orbit!" Vascalidon threw the sphere in Douma's direction. A rift of compelling force began pulling every object and rubble in the area towards it. They got crushed the moment they skewed closer to the bright sphere.

"Radiance!" Douma fired his golden air slash at the sphere. When both the sphere and air slash got into contact it resulted in a massive explosion that swept everything off the ground. The distortion in the impact of their collision causing a sudden shift in the fabric in time; The destruction in the hallways and room occurred in a split second but the effects appeared to be slower than expected.

Two of the statues in the hall where the entrance was collapsed to the ground. The residents outside their houses held onto their loved ones who struggled to withstand the pressure in the ground. Many of them falling and tumbling down the slope. Leaning against the boulders for support.

Both Douma and Vascalidon were practically floating in the air. Soon the effects of the explosion wore off and the atmosphere returned to normal. Douma didn't think too much of it, at least nobody else got pulled into it or they would've been crushed during and even after the explosion. The pressure still lingered for a few seconds those who couldn't tell would fall victim to the effects of that singular field that sphere created which ended up repelling everything around it after the collision with the air slash.

The magnetic retaliation still being within the repulsion. Vascalidon was reckless, the state of the three weapons didn't occur to him at all.

Ryukushu watched Douma and Vascalidon resume their battle near the ceiling that became a little unstable after the explosions it had endured. Douma fired an ice sickle at Vascalidon which ended up going right through his shoulder. The demon laughed and threw his fist at Douma who caught it just in time and left a freezing predicament that solidified his senses for a split second.

"Genkakuna Jiritsu-sei Style Two: Tamashī no naka ni aru kyōfu!" The towering samurai fired more purple shocks and entities at Douma. The angel blocked the attacks using Vascalidon's frozen body and threw him at Ryukushu.

The two demons collided into one another. Ryukushu sprang up and sliced Vascalidon in half, he rushed to the ceiling and swiped his sword at Douma's side, keeping him on edge.

Douma's senses heightened when Ryukushu started thrashing his sword repeatedly. The angel fell to the ground on purpose and obstructed Ryukushu's field of vision with his ice clouds.

Ryukushu held his breath so he won't agitate his lungs while diving through the freezing mist and shoved his sword into the ground. Various dark specks radiated from the spot that his sword stood and traveled in all directions.

Given the severity of these dark specks, Douma decided that it was a better idea to keep himself off the hallway floor. The blonde flew up and fired his iridescent ray at Ryukushu standing below.

Douma watched the demon get disintegrated by the spiral of colors. The floor was dug deeper by the ray and Ryukushu had been buried underneath all the pile of rubble.

The slabs of concrete tumbled down the mounts of rocks and rubble as Ryukushu got up and clutched his arm. The man almost burnt to crisp but still survived that somehow. He picked up his sword and glared at the angel hovering close to the ceiling.
