Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: The Power of Chaos

As stated previously, Chaotic Energy, or chaos, is a primordial essence that resides in all living things within the omiverse. A fundemental force that governs energy, nature, and life. Created by the Goddess of Chaos, Malerenz, a being beyond the concept of all.

Chaotic energy is what allows people such as Skysin, his mother Valentine, and his grandpa Alzar, to utilize two main factors. Aura, and chaotic arts. Aura is what protects a user from a certain degree of harm, making them much more durable. But can also be used to strengthen their attacks, enhance their speed, used on their weapons, and protect their brain from mental attacks.

Chaotic Arts are supernatural abilities granted to those who can harness chaos. Specific powers a user can gain and be used for offense. These powers are called affinities. A prime example would be the four elements, fire, water, wind, and terra (earth). However, the use of chaos itself is incredibly diverse, and doesn't stop just there either.

Standing in the backyard filled with lush green grass, Skysin was currently stretching, preparing himself for a quick training session with Alzar.

Alzar's green eyes looked down to Skysin's figure, "alright Sin, ya ready?"

"Yeah! Yeah! Ready!!"

Alzar raised his hands, making multiple small poles of terra, or rock, protrude from the lush grass. Alzar turned to Skysin, "alright squirt, y'know the rules. Hit every target."

"Got it!" Skysin swiped his hand, releasing a small arch of crystal ice, slicing through two of the targets like butter.

Skysin then fired a javelin of frost, piercing the last, and freezing it in an instant.

Alzar turned to Valentine behind them, acknowledging the little speedster's precision, "it seems you've taught 'em pretty well, Val."

Valentine gave a humble nod, smiling, "why thank you, Alzar. Sin's aura has been developing quite well, too."

Alzar raised a single brow, growing intrigued, "really now? Looks like we'll have to put it to the test, huh?"

Alzar stepped forward, clapping his hands together, getting Skysin's undivided attention as the boy merely watched Lucanaships soar through the air, shuttle-like vehicles that many people of the omiverse use to travel, either on planet or outer space.

Getting Skysin's attention, Alzar spoke, "your mother here says your aura's developing pretty good kiddo."

Skysin gave a small chortle, using the tip of his pinky to mess with his ear, "...I think so too, Grandpa Al." Skysin relayed, his smile nothing but boastful.

Valentine merely facepalmed herself, and Alzar squinted his eyes towards Skysin's attitude.

One thing the two knew about this child is that while Skysin comes off as adventurous and carefree, the boy is quick-witted, snarky and arrogant at times, even if he's six years old. Mainly because of his speed.

However, while Valentine and Alzar were used to Skysin's more...arrogant remarks, this doesn't mean they were afraid to give the conceited child a beating.

Alzar made a deep frown, the wrinkles near his lips gave him an expression closely related to a monkey, almost. "Alright, let's see then..." Alzar pondered to himself, rubbing his beard.

"If you can last a couple of minutes against me, I'll get you a sniggin leg, brat. How does that sound?" Alzar spoke, showing a small grin.

Skysin nearly shouted from this, quickly getting into a readied posture for a fight, "really!! You're on grandpa!"

A sniggin, is a pig-type beast, and a delicious one at that. They're very rare to come across on Ternal Island, simply because they only come out on certain holidays, mainly during the winter season.

Valentine raised her hand, and dropped it, "begin!"

Without a second wasted, Skysin blurred, already standing before Alzar, his fist drawn back to attack.

Alzar, however, wasn't taken by surprise in the slightest. 'Skysin's speed definitely gives him an advantage… well for people he's more compatible with,' Alzar acknowledged in his thoughts.

Skysin shot a quick fist towards Alzar's stomach, but Alzar pivoted his foot, dodging Skysin's knuckles as they sped past him.

Alzar hastily fixed his posture, swinging an uppercut right to Skysin's chin. Skysin quickly raised his head, narrowly dodging Alzar's fist, and leapt into a backflip, gaining distance.

Landing back onto solid ground, Skysin wasted zero time, moving at high speeds trying to land another attack on Alzar. The left, right, behind, from above, even below, the only perceptible thing of Skysin were wisps of gold and blue moving across the green area they fought on.

Alzar held his own though, blocking every one of Skysin's speeding attacks with ease, and with one arm at that.

After the last attack, Skysin moved back, and came in once more, lunging right to Alzar's face. Alzar raised his hand, prepared to block the next punch Skysin threw.

Yet, just as Skysin got into striking distance, his entire being began to slowly phase, as if he was disappearing from existence.

An afterimage. It was a feint!

Smoke and dust blew from Alzar's feet, and Skysin was right below, about to spin a kick to Alzar's ankles.

Alzar leapt just as Skysin swept the front of his shin.

"Close one, brat!" Alzar laughed, shooting a kick towards Skysin's face.

Skysin's reflexes kicked in, bent backwards, barely dodging Alzar's foot by the tip of his nose. But Alzar wasn't finished just yet.

Alzar hardened his posture and slammed his leg down to Skysin as he fell back to the ground.

Skysin's big violet eyes nearly popped out of his sockets, and rolled from where Alzar crashed his foot down, making the grass and ground under uplift with ease.

Skysin quickly stood, wiping his forehead, "Malerenz, that was close..." Skysin sighed, but he just noticed something, "where's grandpa??"

Skysin's senses were screaming like a fox in the dead of night, keeping his head low, arms up, quickly trying to scope the area around him.

*Tep*

Skysin's ears had fluttered once hearing a single footstep, and looked down, coming to see a tall shadow right under him.

'OH CRAP!!' Skysin yelled in his thoughts, quickly ducking just as Alzar's leg swept over the bristles of Skysin's golden hair.

Skysin hastily swung the back of his fist towards Alzar's stomach, but Alzar merely moved back a few inches, letting Skysin's hand swoop right past.

Alzar kicked the back of Skysin's leg, making him lose balance. And as Skysin fell back, Alzar kicked Skysin right onto his stomach. All the precious air Skysin had in his lungs, emptied like a balloon, and was knocked right to Valentine.

Valentine simply raised a finger, a dark, violet and shadow-like aura quickly manifested around Skysin's small unconscious body, slowing his momentum, and coming to a full stop, right above his short mother.

Valentine raised her hands, and Skysin fell right into her arms, looking as if his soul was steadily leaving his body.

Alzar approached them, rolling his shoulders. With a scoff, "so the brat got better with aura and fighting huh?"

Valentine gently nodded, holding Skysin in her arms as if she was his little baby again, "yes, he has." Valentine's violet eyes had barely lowered, giving Alzar a knowing glance, "you could've gone a bit easier for him, y'know?"

Alzar waved it off rolling his eyes, "meh, he'll be fine. He'll just try to fight me again later anyway."

Valentine gave a small chuckle, knowing what Alzar said was correct. Skysin's usually always in for a good brawl. 'Such a rowdy child.'
