It all started around a week right after I entered the wormhole.
A group of adventurers was investigating a demon sighting near the border between the mountains and the desert. But what they found, instead of a single demon, was a group from the two hundred powerful demon knights.
The Demon Harpy squadron, was actually in the area.
The group of adventurers were hopeless in the face of the twenty powerful demons. Luckily, one was able to escape, even after losing one eye and his left hand.
The surviving adventurer returned to the kingdom and reported to the Adventurers Office, and the Master of the Adventurers Office immediately reported it even further to the higher ups. Hearing that one of the demon squadrons had moved, King Bestall of Mazino quickly began his move.
He sent out the arch-mage, along with five more powerful people, who are the three White ranked adventurers of Mazino and the headmaster of Xyphon Academy, to face this threat.
The fight was fearsome, and the entire mountain on the western side got reduced to ground level.
Fran lost her left arm from the fight, while the headmaster managed to get stabbed in the stomach. But in the end, they managed to win the battle.
Lescia was quite sad when she said Fran lost her left arm, but I told her not to worry since I can regrow it. She noticed that I wasn't lying, and she remembered how I have Emperor tier healing magic.
Back to the story, the Harpy demon squadron escaped, but they were able to capture a few members alive.
After interrogating the captured members, the king was given information about what the demons were doing.
And that is… a large-scale invasion.
Tens of thousands of the demon army will come from the desert, and they will attack all the kingdoms on the western side of the continent starting from Mazino, which is the most eastern kingdom. The Demon Harpy squadron came to our side of the continent for not only espionage, but also as an option for the demons to flank our army from behind.
Their amount may have been only twenty, but facing that twenty powerful demons when they are flanking our army from behind can be extremely devastating. After all, it took the alliance all they got to take down the Demon Harpy squadron, a squad of only twenty demons.
And so, our alliance of kingdoms had no other choice but to react.
King Bestall of Mazino quickly openly declared war with the demons. The call for the war had been alarmed, and the entire alliance of kingdoms began to act.
The three kingdoms of humans: Xyphon, Mazino, and Naverne. The kingdom of elves, Quarvern. And the kingdom of dwarves, Balenia. Together, they sent their military to the borders where the tall walls splitting the continent and the desert are, while the selected generals led the battle.
The three selected generals are the Master of the Adventurer's Office Valon Mazino, Hod Hoaqin the Yellow ranked tactician and strategist adventurer, and the great Knight General from Mazino.
They devised a well thought-out plan to face this threat in just a single day. And as a result, in the battle that happened the very next day, only five thousand troops were sent by the alliance's knights, adventurers, and mages merging together. But, they were able to take down nearly ten thousand demon troops in the very first battle of the war, in the desert.
All thanks to their master planning, not many from the five thousand army belonging to the alliance were killed, but over ten thousand demon army was wiped and even pushed back.
Hearing that, my entire hair stood up from excitement. For Hod and Valon, as well as the general to come up with a plan that great, this war might be possible to win.
Sadly, the next battle isn't as great.
Around a few days later, the demons sent yet again another fifteen thousand army. But this time, they are more prepared.
They played the range and picked the time when the sandstorm was happening. Attacks coming from the sandstorm can't be seen, but the demons were able to see through it just fine.
Plenty of our side died that day, while very few of the demons died.
There haven't been many large scale battles since then, aside from small scaled ones. But, it was clear that our side is taking some large hits, but there are also times when our side is winning easily.
The flight unit from the demon army came and was welcomed straight up by the magicians from Xyphon. It was a difficult battle, since human mages are always going to be inferior to demon mages. But, they were able to stop the approach from the demon flight unit and push them back.
That alone already removes the possibility of our ground unit to get flanked. I can tell that it was a battle that greatly decided the tide of the war.
The small-scale battle continues, and after two months, there hasn't been any large-scale attacks like that initial two.
"What about the powerful individuals from the alliance? The squad that is led by the arch-mage from Xyphon?"
I remembered the tiny detail that Veneo told me a long time ago in his room, and from Lescia's reaction, it looks like that plan has been set in motion.
"They called themselves the 'Axelons' squad.
Axelons, when the strongest individuals in the entire continent grouped up together and formed a group to fight and win the war. A single one of them is called an Axelon member.
It was filled with White ranked adventurers, powerful wizards and high ranking mages from Xyphon, as well as other powerful people from the other kingdoms. There are fourteen of them in total, with one being an anonymous identity. I don't remember which one that was.
From your team, Fran and Cane were included, given that they are a White ranked adventurers. Other than them, the Flame King adventurer is also included. There's also the knight vice general of Mazino. For now, those four are the ones from Mazino. Not sure about whether or not they include you, though.
They haven't gone much to the battlefield, and they don't exactly grouped up much either. Usually they only take part when a demon squadron shows up. When that happens, two or more members of the Axelon squad were sent to face them."
"Huh…? They haven't moved in to face the demon king?"
"Not yet, but I think it will happen in a few days. They were originally waiting for the Axelon members from the dwarven and elven kingdom. And now that they are here, it is most likely that they will begin soon."
"I see. What's the current situation on the battlefield?"
"Well, last I heard that there's a terrible situation on the southern side of the Great Wall, on the southern section base."
"T-They called it the Great Wall?"
I asked while chuckling. I told her that there's a similar wall and used for similar reasons in my world, and she quickly grinned.
"I guess things happening there do happen here."
She commented, and she continued the story.
"Around two squadrons came there and took the entire base. The alliance army still couldn't take it back, and some of the men were still occupied by the battles from the other parts of the desert and wall.
The attack was a coordinated one, after all. They attacked all three bases at once, but only managed to take over one. The southern base."
"… Even now?"
"Yeah, this is still going. I heard they are sending a few units there, including the Axelons… but I'm not quite sure when it will happen.
I'm just a princess. Who am I to know every teensy bits of the war?"
Lescia said while lifting both her shoulders, but I stared at her disappointed.
Hmm… should I head there? I could probably make it in ten minutes using my highest speed.
"If I go there right now, would I still make it?"
"You probably could--Wait, what?"
Lescia looked extra confused, but I kept silent and gave it a thought. After a while, I solidified my thoughts.
