Chapter 156 - Chapter 156: Succumbing To Circumstance

*Friday*

Lirien looked calm as she surveyed the looks of the people around her in the court room.

She had already shared her part about the death of the adventurers on Tuesday and she had to wait for the news to spread first before she could make any other moves.

"It is without a doubt that the attacks of these vile demons is increasing rampant. We have to increase the security of the kingdom!" Similar voices could be heard echoing through the room.

They were all fearful of how prudent and daring these demons were getting. To the point of butchering so many adventurers in such a short period of time, they were brutal and ruthless.

Lirien had made sure that bodies were disposed off in such a grotesque and brutal fashion to pass it off as attacks of demons.

"Without a doubt, we will require the help of the adventurers' guild with this one. Especially Sir Joseph." Lirien posed a suggestion which seemed relevant.

After all the adventures that died were under the guild of Sir Joseph, who managed the Adventures Guild. He would be forced to participate in this hunt.

"That is a great idea." One spoke up. "Exactly, both the guards and the adventures should be called back and defend the kingdom!"

"Exactly, we must ensure the safety of the people!" Lirien heard such comments come out of the blue.

However she could understand their need to voice out such hypocritical speculations. She knew that the real reason why they wanted such an agenda pushed was not to ensure the safety of the citizens but their own.

It portrayed how selfish they were and how much they feared death and yet didn't she too fall into this category. Devouring the souls of others to get stronger so as to prevent her own demise.

'It would seem that there is barely any difference between me and these spoilt nobles. However I don't hide behind a mask of hypocrisy. I hide in the shadows!'

"Very well. Let it be known that any and all adventurers to return back to Aurorise!" Nathaniel compromised as he heard how out of hand matters were becoming. He glanced briefly at Lirien before averting his gaze away.

Lirien felt the king's gaze however she dismissed it. 'I hope that you're ready, Nathaniel, because you won't be able to tell what hit you!' A smirk formed on her face however no one was able to see it.

"Very well, it would seem that someone will have to be in charge of leading this operation. My king, I volunteer myself of doing our kingdom a favor." A voice was heard.

After this, multiple nobles wanted to view for the position. Why? Because they would be in charge of the security. It naturally meant that they themselves wouldn't have to deal with the worry of manpower.

"I'll have my commander to look into it and deal with the matters of security." Nathaniel brushed all comments that were directed his way. Lirien wanted to volunteer as the lead however she refrained from doing so.

She had already brought up the idea of using adventurers and if she wanted to be the leader of this posse, it would seem as if she had an agenda.

Sure it would look normal however she didn't to raise any suspicions with her target.

After that, they discussed more about the subject of security before the court was adjourned. Lirien was confident as she felt that things were tilting in her favor. Joseph would be dragged into the matter in the name of 'security of the kingdom' sparing her time of finding him.

Even though she could spend the resources of finding him, the problem of fighting him was unideal. Not to mention, she would be at a disadvantage as the possibility of falling into traps was present.

'If I want to deal with Joseph, then I'll either have to finish the fight quickly or fight him outside of the kingdom.' The collateral of a tier five expert was too potent and couldn't be done in a kingdom.

It was certain that damages were bound to happen. The reason why she was able to contain the fight with the tier four experts was because the dome she had cast. Not to mention she hadn't given them time to properly launch any substantial attacks.

The king had already made such matters known to the public to raise awareness and prevent any dangerous quests from being taken by the adventurers. The reason was broad as day as the people understood it perfectly.

*Inside the main quarters of the manor of Sir Joseph*

"What?! The king wants me to involve myself with this bullshit not to mention that he has declared that any quests are not to be taken during this time?!"

Joseph was anything but pleased as he heard this information. Not only did it hinder the profits that he would make, but also force him to participate in something that brought almost no profit for him.

Sure he was already revered however that was something that he overtime grew weary of that he didn't care. "These nobles are getting too scared to fight! Then what was the point of them having such high tiers of they can't fight?!"

Of course he knew the reasons as to why he was haphazardly thrown into this mess. But he too could hold his own.

"Do they really think that they can just order me around like some fucking lap dog? Just get me some bitches to fuck!" He ordered his assistant who proceeded to quietly leave the room.

Shortly after three beauties came into the room. "Hahaha! Ladies, come on and let's have a good time."

...

Lirien reviewed her plan as she felt that almost no flaws could be present in it and felt satisfied with it however something else that she hadn't predicted happened.

A voice that she had hated to the core rang in her head. "Just checking up on you, test subject." It was Ashley. She fell silent as she heard this. She concluded that she was using the artifact to contact her.

"Looking through your eyes, I was actually expecting you to fail however it seems that you are actually worthy to entertain me. And for that, I'll give a small heads up. Your plan won't work in time."

Lirien reviewed as she looked at her plan. She had already concluded that she needed to rush with her plans and attack Joseph tomorrow and Nathaniel the following day.

This path was without a doubt not easy as she would be met with a lot of resistance however it was the fastest for her.

"If only you could have had more time then it would have worked but now, it won't. But a little tip, Joseph likes to have a little fun. Tomorrow he's going to ignore the request of the king and go there on Monday but you'll be dead by then. So find a way to make a miracle with this."

Lirien paused in fear as she heard this. She was already aware that Ashley could read her mind but to think that she was still keeping an eye on her despite being outside the kingdom.

'Not only was she keeping track of me, but also she can preview the future?!' The more she recalled thus, the more absurd she found dealing with Ashley.

At first she had already given up on enacting revenge but now, she knew that facing her was a path that one would find nothing but failure and resentment.

Recalling what she was told, a disgusting thought came into her mind however seeing that she was low on options, it was the only thing that she could do as of now.

*Saturday*

Joseph looked outside the manor that he was in, the ladies that he had spent time with had already left ahead of time. He made his way towards the ball room before having a nice full course meal.

For a tier five expert, he had a huge appetite thus he was able to get most of the dishes clean. After that, he would usually go back to his room and regulate his tier development through meditation.

*Four hours later*

Stepping out of his room, he made his way towards the ball for another meal with it being his lunch. Delicious as always for him and after that, he would waste himself with walks, ladies or going back to meditation.

However as of now, he did the same thing as yesterday. Request more ladies to spend time with.

Every day, he would get someone more different than the last never getting the same ladies twice. A personal twist he liked with the ladies he met as it ensured that there was something new and different to explore with the ladies.

And just like his casual treat, three ladies walked in however this time, they were all masked. 'What is that assistant thinking? I appreciate her effort if trying to spice things up a bit though.'

He laughed as he made his way towards them. "Ladies, please make yourselves comfortable." He welcomed them as he stretched out his hands however they didn't bother coming to where he was.

"Stubborn are we?" He mused as he saw that they weren't budging as they remained rooted. "Let's see how strong your wills are after I'm done with you." He took the initiative and made his way over to them.

Getting closer, he could now clearly see their figures. They all wore hazy veils that left little to the imagination as some parts were more visible than others. One had a blue veil who was the most curvaceous one.

Another wore white veil while the last wore a red veil. The one with the white veil had the least sexually appealing body however what drew Joseph's attention towards her was that she was a tier four expert.

It wasn't that there wasn't nothing to work with but in comparison to the other two, she was fell greatly behind with her B cup breasts.

Most that were available were usually tier two and occasionally tier three experts therefore the presence of a tier four was definitely surprising. The other two were tier three experts.

"I'm definitely going to have fun with this." His smirk stretched as he eyed on the tier four expert. Her figure shuddered as she noticed that he was getting closer to her first.

His hands were brave as they brazenly roamed her body. Trailing from her lips all the way down to her pussy as he gently caressed it. "Please be gentle." A frail voice came from the figure which seemed to drive him more.

"Don't worry darling, I'll make sure that you are my most prized collection." Joseph mused as he took of the veil off her face.

"Mrs. Lirien?!" He exclaimed in shock as his steps faltered back slightly. He knew who she was thus seeing her here was definitely a surprise.

She had already planned stocking up on defense artifacts before making her here however one usually bends the knee when change comes thus she came up with another plan.

If she did so, it would definitely be no easy cake of trying to conceal them in front of Joseph thus she opted to take this route. It disgusted her how another man touched her body however she to allow it for her plan to succeed.

"Mrs. Lirien. What are you doing here?!" Lirien however looked calm as she brought out a fresh set of clothing covering her body properly.

"I don't think that you're attention should've focused on me for now." She said as she made her way closer to Joseph. Realizing the situation he was in, he wanted to fill the room with his presence however he fell to the ground.

A mind numbing pain assaulted his body as beads of sweat formed on his face. "Let me share with you the pain that I deal with!" Lirien said as a dangerous smile showed up on her face.

Joseph tried to utilize mana however the pain only increased, making him curl up into a ball. It was pathetic to see a revered tier five expert in such a fire state.

The other two ladies took their exit as they saw the scene unfold. They were ladies personally planted by Lirien herself. She sat on the bed as she towered over Joseph's figure.

"How does it feel to be weak and powerless? It definitely has been quite some time since you felt this, right?" She laughed as she stepped onto Joseph's body.
