A man, gaunt like a ghost's shadow with a hunched back like a wild wolf, stood at the doorway meticulously straightening his morning suit. His body was so lean that the shoulders of his suit were wrinkled into a bundle.
His black hair was damp and tangled, hanging naturally to his shoulders without being carefully groomed. When he looked down, he resembled a corpse that had just crawled out of a lake after drowning.
This was his first visit to the Royal Palace—as a Transcendent of the Path of Dusk, he adhered to the principle of staying still whenever possible. There had to be a reason for him to actively leave the Spirit Summoning Tower and engage in such a troublesome matter.
He stood respectfully in front of the study door. After not a long wait, a beauty whom he felt somewhat familiar with, but had never actually met, opened the study door and came out.
"Major Odvar Lassimi... Correct?"
The other party inquired seriously.
