Of course, finding Captain John's treasure isn't easy.

On Beehive Island today, the flag of the legendary pirate Ochoku is flying.

Ochoku, once a member of the Rocks Pirates, took control of Beehive Island after the crew's defeat. He held the island for years until five years ago, when Blackbeard defeated him, using Kobe and others, and claimed the island as his own.

Even though Ochoku is no longer in his prime, he was still a fearsome pirate. Anyone strong enough to hold onto territory in the New World, surrounded by the Four Emperors, is no ordinary pirate.

However, for Vladimir, Ochoku alone isn't enough to make him back down.

After defeating Gecko Moria and others, Vladimir's reputation grew rapidly, especially after becoming one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Many pirates sought to defeat him, hoping to make a name for themselves. Others, like the so-called Pirate Queen, aimed to take his title.

Vladimir's strength has increased significantly, reaching the level of an "S-Emperor." At this point, only the Three Admirals or the Four Emperors could pose a real threat to him. Ordinary S-level fighters wouldn't stand a chance against him now, and there's no master of blood magic left who can rival him.

As for Ochoku, how much of his former strength does he still have? Even if he retained all of it, could he match Vladimir today?

S-class strength is rare, even in the pirate world. It places someone among the top fighters at sea. Back in the day, Rocks D. Xebec was the undisputed ruler of the seas, commanding subordinates like Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, and the Golden Lion.

But not every member of the Rocks Pirates had that level of power. Pirates like Captain John, Silver Axe, and Ochoku never reached the heights of Whitebeard or the Golden Lion. Even at their peak, they only possessed the strength of an "S-Emperor."

Still, that level of power was enough to make waves across the seas. The Rocks Pirates were infamous for having cadres who were monsters among monsters.

Unbothered, Vladimir boldly landed on Beehive Island. In the pirate world, there are few places where he could move unnoticed. In fact, he welcomed challengers, viewing them as sources of experience and treasure—like walking "blood packs."

"Ahem, the new Seven Warlords of the Sea, Blood Emperor Vladimir,"

"What an arrogant name,"

"And yet, you dare roam the New World so openly. Aren't you afraid the Emperors of the Sea will come after you?"

Ochoku, now aged with gray hair, a slightly hunched posture, and a worn-out coat, still had piercing eyes. He stared at Vladimir and said calmly:

"Ahem, this isn't a place you belong!"

"An old relic like me has no intention of standing against the World Government."

After all, even Rocks himself fell to the World Government. Pirates from the old era, like Ochoku, had long abandoned any desire to fight it.

As long as they stayed quiet and didn't cause trouble, the World Government usually left them alone. For instance, Silvers Rayleigh—once the Pirate King's right hand—lives peacefully as a retired ship coater in the Sabaody Archipelago, right under the nose of the government.

The World Government never put much effort into capturing Roger's former subordinates. Pirates like Ochoku from the old era weren't even worth their attention anymore.

But Vladimir wasn't working for the World Government. He had come to Beehive Island with one clear goal: to claim Captain John's legendary treasure.

This was the most critical task assigned to him by Duke.

Vladimir looked at the hunched figure of Ochoku standing before him. His expression grew serious as a faint mist of blood began to form around him. Then, in a composed and confident tone, he declared:

"An emperor doesn't concern himself with the opinions of others. He goes wherever he pleases."

"And now, I want this island."

"Will you surrender it to me?"

Despite his frail appearance, Ochoku's body concealed immense power. For Vladimir, obtaining Captain John's treasure was a top priority. He wasn't eager to fight a formidable opponent like Ochoku if it could be avoided. After all, if the battle destroyed Beehive Island and the treasure along with it, it would spell disaster.

Ochoku coughed several times, his voice growing stronger with each word.

"You want this island?" he asked, his tone sharp and mocking. "That's a bit of a problem."

"There's no way I'm handing this island over to anyone!"

"So, Blood Emperor, will you leave peacefully? Or will you die here in the sea?"

As soon as Ochoku finished speaking, his frail body swelled dramatically. His once loose, ragged coat now stretched tightly over his bulging muscles. His sharp eyes gleamed, and the terrifying aura radiating from him signaled the return of the legendary pirate.

Ochoku didn't possess the power of a Devil Fruit. Instead, as a native of the Land of Flowers, he relied on pure Conqueror's Haki and the secret martial arts of his homeland.

Much like Rao G's combat-focused boxing style that could temporarily restore his strength, Ochoku's techniques from the Land of Flowers allowed him to maintain his position in the dangerous New World.

For decades, Ochoku had controlled Beehive Island, searching relentlessly for Captain John's treasure. He had no intention of giving up the island—not to Vladimir, nor even to one of the Four Emperors.

This was Ochoku's final stand, a matter of pride for the legendary great pirate.

"It seems we couldn't come to an agreement," Vladimir said with mock regret.

"Such a shame. Today, another legend will meet its end."

With that, a torrent of blood surged outward from behind Vladimir, spreading across the sky and sea. The heavy, metallic scent of blood filled the air, casting an oppressive shadow over Ochoku.

The battle had begun!
