Chapter 35 - DAY 3 - IN THE BELLY OF WAR

On the eastern side of the planet, above the sea, Boa rides atop his griffin, his breath ragged, his body trembling with exhaustion. He looks down at the water below and sees the Blaze Dragon sunken deep at the bottom of the sea floor.

Boa places his hand over his heart and whispers, "Be strong… for your honor has not yet given up on you."

He exhales deeply. Realizing that this is the hardest battle he's ever fought.

Suddenly, a fiery aura begins to rise from the depths. The sea rumbles.

From beneath, the Blaze Dragon erupts with power, firing a massive pillar of fire straight through the ocean, launching into the sky. In an instant, it redirects, crashing down like a divine hammer onto Boa and his griffin.

The impact crushes them into the sea, driving them down with overwhelming force. The fire pillar explodes at the bottom, creating a split in the ocean as wide and long as three football fields. Water is pushed aside, held back by flaming walls that burn even through the sea, refusing to extinguish.

Boa and the griffin scream in pain, their bodies burned and battered by the relentless flames.

Gritting his teeth, Boa presses his hand to his chest and casts a healing spell. A yellow light envelops him, mending wounds—but only halfway.

"I can't heal completely..." he mutters through gritted teeth. "If I do, I won't have enough power left to slay the dragon."

He staggers to his feet, still partially burned. Around him, the fiery walls of the ocean continue to blaze, trapping them on the sea floor.

Then he spots the griffin, collapsed nearby.

He stumbles toward it, kneels, and looks into its fading eye. There's no need for words. The message is clear—the griffin is asking to be put out of his misery.

Boa places a hand gently on its head.

"You did well, Beta… The old pack is proud of you. Rest easy now. You'll be with me."

Yellow lights seeps from Boa's palm, and the griffin's soul is then absorbed into his body—joining him forever.

Boa stands again, unsteady but resolute.

Three hundred feet away, the Blaze Dragon rises on mangled wings, too damaged to fly. Its limbs tremble, yet it presses forward, snarling.

With a roar, it summons dozens of fireballs, launching them in a barrage toward Boa.

But suddenly, the whales break through the flaming water walls, blocking the pathway towards Boa with their bodies. They block the fireballs with their own mass, shielding him.

Some whales charges the dragon directly, slamming into it. But the Blaze Dragon tears through them—claws shredding, jaws snapping.

Boa watches, rage and grief mixing in his chest.

"All of your deaths won't be in vain... as all of you will become part of me"

Boa raises his palm as yellow streaks of light shoot from his hand into the many fallen whale bodies scattered across the pathway. Their glowing souls lift from their bodies and stream into him.

Suddenly, one of the Blaze Dragon's fireballs breaks through the defense and lands nearby, erupting in a violent explosion. The blast knocks Boa off his feet, slamming him into the ground. Blood spills from his mouth as flames rage around him.

Groaning, he pushes himself up to one knee and growls through clenched teeth, "Fallen ones… give me your strength. I'll need all the power I can muster to slay this dragon!"

The many souls within him begin to glow brightly. They orbit his chest, forming a pulsing vortex of spiritual energy. With a roar, Boa channels this power into his right hand, charging a massive lightning attack. Intense bolts crackle and whip around his arm.

Meanwhile, the Blaze Dragon continues rampaging through the whale defenses. Just as it closes in closer, Melon the Whale bursts through the burning water walls and lands directly in the dragon's path. With a mighty cry, Melon unleashes a deafening sonic boom, blasting the dragon backward.

On the shores of the village, Crank clutches his head in frustration.

"What is Boa doing?! Why isn't he using his magic weapon?! If he did, he'd be so much stronger!"

Jen turns to see the many proud warriors standing firm beside Prekayda. Her eyes widen as a realization hits.

"He must have a reason for not doing so… Wait. That's right. It all makes sense now!"

Meanwhile, on Planet Isha, in the heart of the commoner city, war erupts.

Slummers charge the streets, battling noble soldiers and their robotic enforcers. Each slummer wears a warband wrap around their arm—marked with Boa's symbol.

A fallen noble soldier crawls backwards, fear in his eyes as he spots the emblem.

"Boas..." he gasps, trying to call for reinforcements.

Suddenly, a laser blast pierces his chest. He gasps and turns to see Hank, holding the weapon.

"Why...?" the soldier coughs.

Hank looks down at him, wearing the same warband symbol.

"Everything changed the more time I spent with Boa in the mines. After we slew the Data Dragon… I realized he's the one I'll follow."

Nearby, the robot Wade charges through noble mechs, tearing them apart. He turns and gives Hank a thumbs up.

"We're clear here!"

Suddenly, Yunbam and his legion of Boas arrive, marching through the war-torn streets, flanked by floating digital screens. His voice booms:

"Have no fear—we are not your enemies!"

Commoners peek out from hiding. His voice echoes louder:

"To those who wish to rebel against the nobles—now is the time! The Star Games have begun, and their eyes are elsewhere. If we strike now, we can win this war!"

He raises a fist, rallying the crowd.

"**Join us, and we will build a better Planet Isha! One where all are equal—no more classes, no more chains! There will be only one class: The human race!"

A surge of inspiration ripples through the crowd. Commoners begin to rally, standing beside the Boas. Together, they march to the gates of Pawn City, where the noble army has formed a blockade.

At the front, Yunbam raises his hand, standing ahead of them all.

"The time is now! We will no longer suffer the suppressions of the nobles!"

Suddenly, the skies shimmer.

Everyone gasps as Boa's magic weapon materializes in Yunbam's hand, glowing with divine power. Many stare in awe—none have ever seen a magic weapon before. It was believed only gods could wield such artifacts.

Yunbam points at the massive floating city of Oasis, hovering above the horizon.

"Boa… everything is in motion, just as you planned. This is the only way to complete Project Soul… and save those people on Doom Planet."

With a war cry, the army of Boas charges toward Pawn City's gates, beginning a battle that will decide the fate of the world.

Back on Doom Planet, the Blaze Dragon withstands the sonic boom unleashed by Melon. Unfazed, it summons fiery magic and blasts a pillar of flame beneath the whale. The column erupts with devastating force, launching Melon into the sky before it crashes into the distant ocean.

The dragon turns its fiery gaze on Boa, charging straight at him.

Boa stands firm, lightning crackling around his body. "No disaster will stop me—not when my honor shines the brightest!"

He unleashes his fully-charged lightning attack. Bolts streak across the battlefield, lashing into the charging dragon and lighting the scene with blinding sparks. Thunder echoes. But even through the storm of lightning, the dragon pushes forward, relentless.

Meanwhile, on the shores of the village, everyone watches in awe as the animals channel their yellow aura into the giant alpha chimera. The beast roars, growing in size until it matches the towering Blaze Dragon.

Suddenly, a massive dire wolf appears, also glowing with Boa's signature yellow energy. The other animals turn, channeling even more of that sacred power into the wolf.

Crank's eyes widen. "Oh my… the Omega of the new pack is here! But… where's the other?!"

Jen's expression shifts as realization hits her. "Everyone! We need to do the same. Lend me and Crank the power Boa gave you all!"

Prekayda nods solemnly and raises her hand. "Do it. Now!"

All around, villagers and beasts alike begin pouring Boa's energy into Crank and Jen. Their bodies glow brighter, swelling with raw power. Jen leaps onto the dire wolf's back; Crank climbs atop the massive chimera. As they do, their auras intertwine with those of their mounts, magnifying their strength.

Prekayda steps forward and gives one final command. "Channel more—into them!"

More energy surges through the air.

Jen looks back in shock. "Wait! What are you doing?! We only needed Boa's given powers—not your life force!"

Prekayda closes her eyes with a soft smile. "It's alright. Our leader is struggling... and he'll need more than just what Boa left us. We believe in you all. We're willing to give everything—even if it costs us our lives."

Their eyes glow fiercely with conviction. The warriors pour not only Boa's energy, but half of their own life force into the four of them.

Crank lets out a roar as energy pulses through him. "Alright! We're stronger than ever now! Let's join the fight! Let's go, Alpha!"

The chimera charges forward, its steps hovering above the ocean's surface as it phases through magical barrier layers protecting the village. Jen and the dire wolf follow suit, running alongside them with divine grace, their feet dancing just above the waves.

But as they reach the massive split in the ocean, their momentum halts.

They look ahead below—just in time to see the Blaze Dragon reach Boa.

With a monstrous snap of its jaws, the dragon bites down—and swallows Boa whole.

Crank screams in horror. "NO!!!"

Jen stares in frozen disbelief. "It... it can't be..."

A heavy silence falls over the battlefield. The flames crackle. The winds howl. The ocean churns.

Jen's eyes widen as a sudden pulse runs through her. She gasps and says, "Wait, Crank… do you feel that?!"

Crank freezes for a moment, focusing. His eyes flare with yellow light. "You're right... I can still feel him!" he shouts. "Boa is alive—inside the dragon!"

Jen's grip tightens on the dire wolf's fur. "Then what are we waiting for?" she growls. "Let's carve him out!"

Crank slams a fist against the chimera's back, energizing it. "We're bringing him back!"

Crank and the chimera leap down into the fiery split of the ocean. The Blaze Dragon roars and unleashes a barrage of fireballs toward them. The chimera answers with a roar of its own as its goat head sparks to life, firing lightning bolts from its horns that intercept and explode the fireballs mid-air.

The chimera slams into the dragon, biting and clawing as the dragon fights back with equal ferocity. The two beasts wrestle violently, waves crashing against the burning walls of the split. The Blaze Dragon manages to pin the chimera under its massive claws.

Crank launches into the air, eyes blazing.

"The dragon's weakened—we can do this!" he shouts.

He slams a punch directly into the dragon's face, forcing its massive head to lurch back from the blow.

Meanwhile, Jen and the dire wolf focus their magic. Beneath the ocean, countless ancient weapons buried in the depths begin to glow. One by one, the weapons respond, dissolving into streams of magic that swirl toward them. Jen summons twin magical daggers into her hands, while the dire wolf materializes a massive greatsword in its jaws.

With a howl, they leap into the fray.

The dragon's tail swings violently, smacking Crank into the fire-wreathed wall. He crashes into the flaming ocean below. The Blaze Dragon then opens its maw, launching a fireball that blasts the chimera through the flame wall as well.

But as it turns upward, it finds Jen and the dire wolf already in its face.

The dragon breathes another fireball, but the dire wolf meets it head-on, cleaving it in half with a mighty swing of the greatsword. Jen dives through the flames, spinning as she slashes across the dragon's nose with her daggers, landing blow after blow.

Together, they move at lightning speed, vanishing and reappearing as they dart around the dragon, slicing it from all directions. The dragon lashes out but can't keep up.

Crank emerges from the flames with fury in his eyes.

"Round two!" he growls.

He dives down and lands a crushing punch onto the top of the dragon's skull, dazing it. At that moment, the chimera bursts free and fires a colossal energy blast from its lion mouth.

"Move!" Crank shouts.

All three narrowly dodge as the beam hits the dragon head-on, blasting it backward through the 300-foot ocean split. The dragon is flung down the watery canyon until it crashes into the far end, where the blast explodes in a blinding burst of light and steam.

Crank and Jen land side by side, panting.

"If it wasn't for Boa weakening it..." Jen mutters, eyes fixed ahead.

"...we'd probably be dead already."

Crank nods, smirking despite the exhaustion.

"Yeah. But I feel stronger than ever." He flexes his massive arms. "Let's keep going!"

Around them, the blazing walls of fire fade. The great water pillars begin collapsing, closing the ocean split.

The group swims upward, breaking the surface and standing atop the water with the help of their magic. They turn as lightning suddenly cracks across the sky.

The Blaze Dragon rises from the depths once more—its wings partially healed, its body burning with unnatural vitality.

Jen's eyes widen.

"It used Boa's magic... didn't it?"

Crank stares in disbelief.

"What the—?! Did it just heal itself with his power?!"

Jen grits her teeth.

"Yeah. As long as Boa's still inside, it can probably tap into parts of his magic..."

Meanwhile, deep inside the dragon's belly, Boa is encased in a glowing sphere of his magic aura, sliding through the dark, steaming tunnels of the beast's intestines. Eventually, he tumbles into the stomach chamber, splashing into a pool of bubbling acid. His aura sphere bobs and rolls on the surface, barely keeping him safe from the corrosive liquid.

Boa steadies himself, breathing heavily.

"I need to get out of here as soon as possible. I can feel my magic depleting… if I stay in here too long, I'm going to end up as this thing's meal."

He scans the area, but all he sees is thick darkness, the walls pulsing with the rhythmic groans of the dragon's body. He closes his eyes and sits cross-legged inside his sphere, entering a state of meditation.

In the spirit world, his soul drifts out of the dragon's body. He immediately senses the chaos of the battle outside—flashes of lightning, roars of beasts, and clashing energy. He reaches out, trying to connect with the souls of Jen and Crank, but he is violently pulls back.

His eyes snap open as his spirit is yanked down, back into his body.

"They seem to be holding their own..." he mutters, frustrated. "But I can't do much to help them from in here."

He paces inside his aura sphere, watching the acidic waves slosh beneath him. Then, out of the corner of his eye, something catches his attention—a distant glow, far below the surface of the acid.

He quickly sits down and focuses again. His spirit separates from his body, slipping out of the sphere and diving into the acidic depths. The deeper he goes, the more intense the heat becomes.

Down in the lower chamber of the dragon's stomach, he spots a second aura sphere—this one ablaze with red and orange flames.

Boa floats next to it, shielding his spirit from the heat.

He peeks inside the flaming sphere, to see Ignis sleeping—alive, yet unconscious, completely engulfed in fire magic.
